Fun fact: if you try you can play this game with actual dragon quest graphics that they hid such an option in the game for free is astounding
1:26:40 about Eri's voice actress, she won the contest to be in the game. Eri Kamataki, Ririka, Manae Miyakoshi, Sumire Sawa and Iroha Yanagi all entered the contest to be included in the game and Eri won, which made her a playable character. Unfortunately, she seemingly was on Ambien when they did her voice recording because she sounded like she was half asleep.
I kinda wish we had Seong-Hui as a playable character, but Eri is okay too
I think her sounding tired and bland was intentional to simulate how tired she was from managing what at the time was ichiban confections.
@@nancyabsalon9436 yeah I really liked how Eri was portrayed as tired and overworked through her voice acting. Whenever she shows a lot of emotion, she goes kind of crazy, which I think is really funny. It especially shows when Eri's grandmother suggests marriage and the bar conversation with her when you max kindness and the business minigame

1:41:10 I’m shocked that there is no route to not take damage in this boss fight. At first, I thought you were going to surprisingly avoid that knife kill move and the fact that other game genres have moments like this as well
No-damage isn't a thing people usually do, and since no-damagers are going to find a way, it's best to just not think about balancing the game to accomodate it.

Since you brought it up, there's this really interesting gamefaqs map path that basically is a routing for going through and grabbing all the droppable items in Sotenbori, and among those droppables are those permanent stat increase items.

buffs/debuffs don't wear off on their own but you can only apply buffs/debuffs up to 3-4 stacks for smt nocturne
Weird how the harder difficulties in this game is actually easier than normal esp when it comes to nodamaging

I had no idea Yakuza 7 can be beaten without taking damage, especially because it's an RPG whereas Yakuza 0 through 6 are beat em ups.

The Shin you fought was just Final. But I guess True Final is way too much to handle.
I mean, first, he's even tankier. Second, he does Guard Order which literally summons copies of Kiryu, Majima, and Saejima. Third? Those copies can do their own super move- and guess what it is? The very Summon attacks you can perform with the aid of the REAL ones, not to mention their own carries the SAME properties. And more or less? Unavoidable.
NG+ was DLC, but all the difficulties do is increase the enemy levels, so you couldn't play it on NG. The level scaling would make it impossible at low levels.
I was super unlucky with Tendo because he targeted Ichiban with the God's Hands and one hit me.
Same, but I thought something like that could happened and cast Peerless Resolve first. He 1-shot me 3 times throughout the whole fight.
Wait, wait, Tendo did what? He was stupidly weak in my game! He, at some point did 1 damage to me! Max damage he did on a normal hit was 38! What the Hell happened over there?

@@thatrandomcrit5823 incredibly late answer, but I think I have a hypothesis. In my Tendo fight, he managed to one shot one of my guys, but then on another person he only did one damage. When Ichiban and Nanba tell the party to keep hitting him with all they've got, I think they meant that literally. If you do enough damage to him while he's charging a left/right wing strike, he'll be thrown off and whiff the attack. What is the damage required? Is there any way of knowing when to stop hitting him so you can use the remaining time to heal? Genuinely no idea, but that's the only explanation I can think of
you can't use that item from mabuchis fight to get extra turns to kill joongi han?
Unpopular Opinion: Eng Dub and Japanese Dub are both phenomenal experiences

how did you get your inital evasion boosted before the fight started?
At the restaurants, you can choose the option which heals your party's HP and MP to the max or you could choose the food items individually and certain combos of food give you a boost of some kind(attack, defense, evasion, etc) the boost you get depends on the restaurant so eat around and find out

The real one was killed in 6. This Joon-gi Han is the body double, doing his drink link will get him to eventually reveal his real name.
There's another Joon-gi Han in RGG Online, who meets Ryuji back in '99.

Just played 7 recently, pretty good game but I really hope they ditch the turn based combat in the next games. By the time I got to Tendo I would have rather fought against Lau Ka Long in 3 or against the police chief with Tanimura in 4.
