I bought the 3" Carli suspension set up with the Carli shocks for my 20 F250 7.3 gas truck....love the ride. really not much or hard to tell the difference on my friends 20 diesel 2.5" Carli level with Fox shocks.. Very pleased and you guys were a wealth of info and took the time on the phone going over everything.
I've had bilsteins on my 06 5.9 for the last 6 years, they don't rust and still perform just like they did when I got them. I live in Alaska, and they haven't rusted at all. Idk where that information came from, but I haven't experienced the rust that you speak of
We get our information from running parts on our personal trucks as well as feedback from customers. The 5100s are still a solid option, but there are improvements that can be made.
I’m debating on the Carli Signature Series shocks & the Fox 2.0 shocks. Is there a lifetime warranty on the Carli’s, are they rebuildable, & what’s the difference between the Carli’s & the Fox’s besides the aluminum body on the Fox’s?
The Carli Fox 2.0s have a one year warranty, while the Carli Signature Series have a lifetime warranty. As for ride, the Fox 2.0 Carli Commuter shocks have more damping, which is really only noticeable on a large impact or dip. Aside from that, both will feel very similar around town.
What sets these apart is the custom tuning. Most other shocks at this price point are just out of the box and fit based on length. The Carli Signature Series are custom tuned for each ram truck, making for a better ride.
CJC Off Road thank you so much for your replies! Very informative, I’m looking at getting a suspension set up for my 4x4 96 Ram but there are so many options and thanks to JayFlatOut I landed here. Guaranteed you’ll be seeing a purchase from me in the near future!
They haven't been tested on a stock height truck yet. The shocks do have a longer length that's designed for leveled trucks, but we have a feeling they would still work though.
Overall they has a little less damping than the Carli tuned Fox commuter shocks so they're best suited for on road use. They do have a lifetime warranty, which no other shock we know of can say!
I sprayed my bilsteins with clearcoat before installation.

My 5100s had notable surface rust within about a year down here on the gulf coast (Texas).
MIne are rusted.
The ones I put on my '07 Tundra didn't rust, but wore out so quickly they felt no stiffer than stock in about a year or so.
Blisteins suck ass
what about us canadians with harsh winters up to -40 weather , how would they hold up

How do these compare to their similar fox and king counter parts?
