4:23 Thumbs up for: "This is the part where I come up and pretend like 'Oh, I can't go any faster. No. Are you guys crazy. Blah blah blah. No, I'm not going to do it. It's never been done. Okay, I'm going to try it one more time.'" That is the post-modern way to perform. You know: meta. (Plus, he is really good.)
Im Japanese. I went to see his live for the first time last year. It was very wonderful experience. He is a very talented artist. I was charmed by his music. Now, his CD has eight sheets. He will surely come to Japan this year also. I will go to see him again.
A great virtuoso! By chance I discovered this tool and the skill of the artist touched me! Sincere congratulations! An admirer of Romania! Thanks again!
Wow! This guy is just a natural entertainer. He just happened to pick the ukulele, I think that' just part of his postmodern irreverent personality, but he'd have been equally brillant in anything. I've only seen him n youtube and I'm a total fan.
Well done Michelle for capturing this little bit of magic AND Thankyou for sharing it with the world. I just discovered Jake's rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody... absolutely Gobsmacked so I am. If ever there was a God of the Ukelele...THIS MAN IS IT !!!!! and he seems like such a lovely bloke too.
Yeah, I have met Jake before, and he is the coolest guy I have ever met. Rather than pushing me away, he sat there and had a personal conversation with me, until the people who helped out with the concert pulled him away and were demanding him to leave.
He is the Yngwie of Ukulele, but with a fantastic charm and sense of humor. Hawaii should be VERY proud to have such a vibrant and talented representative of their native instrument.
usually electric ukes have nylon strings still just a built in pre amp. some people do use steel though. and yes, you could use an accoustic and just mic it depending on where youre playing.
I saw him do this live in Redding California at the Cascade. He was amazing! I wasn't expecting much (he commented on that in the performance) coming in because I never heard of him and i was asked to go. Wow, was I wrong... When he performed this he prayed at the end before he did it.. made me laugh.
Jake is awesome! He never ceases to amaze me. Mahalo.
