Lexi this was SUCH A GOOD LIST! Lock Every Door was in my top books for last year 👌🏻 so good! I really really need to read If We Were Villains 🙈 And omg yes House in the Cerulean Sea is top tier! 😭✨
Your hair, make up, outfit was just ✨flawless ✨and the content as always exceptional 💗 Also you holding a mug and a book at the same time throughout the video is serious arm strength.
I read The War That Saved My Life last month and it is one of the best middlegrade I've ever read. It's like Anne of Green Gables although the main character doesn't have Anne's positive spirit nor imagination. She is thoroughly broken and the story is about her heal again in this newfound family. Beautifully written, played with all my emotions and just plain perfection in my opinion.
I have 10 books on my TBR pile now it’s going to be bigger lol. I love your videos your happy energy and positive vibes just makes my energy super excited and happy. Love you.....
The house in the cerulean sea is one of my favorite books of 2020. When my boyfriend saw seance tea party he said, “babe they made a book about you”. The purple beach cruiser, black cat, her wardrobe, everything lol. I love seance tea party and my 6 year old loves it too! ❤️ Your outfit is giving me all the flower power vibes, gorgeous! 😍🌹
I couldnt wait for the house in the cerulean sea & addie larue to come out in germany- I just had to listen to them on audible!!! I LOVED BOTH OF THEM SO MUCH - they are being released in april and may this year AND I WILL BE BUYING AND REREADING THEM AGAIN - I also just ordered King and the dragon flies😊Thank you so much for your video- love from Berlin/Germany💜💛🧡💚💙
Oh my gosh you look amazing! So artistic. 😍 Oooh I need that Fangs graphic novel! I’m so glad you ended up loving A Million Junes! That book doesn’t get enough recognition 👏🏻
❄My top 5 favorite books of 2020 were : 🌟Keeper of The Lost Cities 💖😍 🌟The House in the Cerulean Sea 💖 🌟 Edenbrooke by Julianne Donaldson 💖 🌟Seeking Persephone by Sarah M. Eden 💖 🌟I love you so Mochi by Sarah Kuhn 💖
I just added some of these to my TBR. I would have done this when I first watched the video but for some reason I was not adding anything to my TBR for a long time. I would add everything I could to my Audible wish list but forgot about GoodReads! Hopefully I'll be able to add to GoodReads more now. I'm gonna try.
Also I finished reading My Dark Vanessa and omg WHAT A BOOK. I think that the author made such an amazing way for you to see different kind of perspectives when it comes to pedophilia, sexual abuse and the sexualisation of young women just like you said. It was so realistic that I felt that I was in every single scene. And a million junes what a beautiful book. So many beautiful quotes. Just an amazing and whimsical journey
Ready Player One is one of my favorite books. I am a big 80s junkie so reading all those references I was like oooo yaaay. Also this year I too read Howl's Moving Castle this year for the first time and loved it! I also loved Kiki's Delivery Service, and I read an ARC of The Paris Library that is coming out sometime this year. I thought it was an AMAZING historical fiction book, And another favorite is A Good Girl's Guide to Murder.
I've either read, or plan on reading, all of these books. I had to laugh at you narrowing it down to 18 books. That's where I'm at. I read substantially more books than usual last year and I just can't narrow it down to a top 10. So I decided to narrow it down to a favorites list in several categories - favorite adult/YA, favorite middle grade, favorite graphic novels.
Some of my favorites of this past year were In the Dream House, If We Were Villains, Tiny Beautiful Things, The Starless Sea, Autobiography of Red, and Watch Over Me 💕 Also, you look especially stunning in this video ☺️ Sending gratitude your way for your day-brightening content! ☀️
I love the cover for Lock Every Door. I prefer that over the cover where there's an eye peeking through the peep hole in the door and that is so creepy 😱😱
Thanks for all this titles, you make my tbr bigger and bigger. Now you have a very loyal follower even here in Italy, thanks for all yours beautiful videos :)
From your list some of my faves were Addie LaRue and Cerulean Sea 🥰❤️ Other favs of 2020 (I couldn’t narrow it down😇!) Little women, crooked kingdom, in the dream house, hollowpox, starless sea, a torch against the night, this savage song, the graveyard book, cemetery boys, becoming by Michelle Obama, Daisy Jones & the Six, the girl who drank the moon, the diviners series, between the world and me, lord of shadows, with the fire on high, shadow rising I am going to have to read the King and the Dragonflies, if we were villains, middlegame, and the astonishing color of after now!!😊
I’m anxiously waiting for your Christmas book haul!!! Will you be uploading one soon??? Please says yes!! My fave book of the year was LegendBorn. Addie Larue was a close second.
@@emily_robinson oh I don’t care who replies!!! I’m loving this book because my usual books are suspense books like ones by Ruth Ware but I’ve also been enjoying romance like The Hating Game and Beach Read lately. This one is a very nice change for sure!! Thanks for responding!
I'm a little late here, but -- my favorite read of 2020 was Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn. Other favorites were Dear Edward,A Nearly Normal Family, and Mr. Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore. Totally agree on Lock Every Door and Addie LaRue
Your book recommendations are always the best! Wonderfully curated. As is this whole look / outfit. Does Addie laRue without the dust jacket have shapes/embossing on it or am I just seeing things?
Yes! We are dangerous! aahahaha my tbr is getting bigger! ahaha my dark Vanessa is a book that I need to read but I'm scared to do it! Fangs! yes! Bunny is on my list also! Addie Larue was something!
I was having a rough day so I decided to make some coffee and watch this video. Let me just say, this video made me feel so much better! I was able to free myself from my stress for a bit. Thank you for putting out amazing content! 🙌🏻 P.S. I LOVED ADDIE LARUE! 📖✨It was my favorite book of 2020!
Loved your list. I read The Invisible Life of Addie Larue and recommended to several people, I loved it. My favorite book of the year was A Promised Land by Barack Obama. Thanks for sharing, I stopped reading fiction around 2005 and so 2020 was the first time in a long time I've read fiction. It was extremely helpful along with your videos. Thanks.
I read If we were villains in 2019 and it's a 5 star favorite of mine. Also I read Dig by AS king in 2020 and also a favorite book five stars, so weird so unique
“Ready Player One” was my fav of 2019! Such an addictive read. And for 2020, I’d have to say “The Lightening Thief” by Rick Riordan. It started me on the journey to read all of his works and I loved it!
I agree with you about The House on the Cerulean Sea - a great book! My favorite middle grade book was Fighting Words by Kimberly Brubaker. It is not an easy read but ultimately very hopeful - I highly, highly recommend it.
All Riley Sager books are binge-able. I read Lock Every Door in July and Home before dark in August and both are 5 stars, I liked a little more Home before dark don't know why. We shared some favorite of the year: Bunny, Middlegame, My Dark Vanessa and The invisible life of Addie LaRue 🤗
"Keeper of the Lost Cities" by Shannon Messenger is my favorite series ever! 💖 It is so underrated and more people should read it because it is FANTASTIC 💖💖💖
Great 👍 video. Alexandra Roselyn 🌹 is a woman very apassionate to tell your reviews . I like her so much! Congratulations for your work, because I have known about books very interesting. Greetings from Sonora, México.
I really liked Home Before Dark by Riley Sager. It was the most bingeable book for me in 2020. I also liked Anna K, Fortunately the Milk, and The Hate U Give!
You need to Read "Mary's Monster" by Lita Judge!! It is a poetic graphic novel about the life of Mary Shelly and how Frankenstein came to be. It is beautiful and absolutely heartbreaking. Each page features a beautiful grey-toned watercolor illustration and a breathtaking poem. It is simply the best thing that I have ever read in my life. It is definitely a MUST READ. Loved it.
Laughing so much at your intro! 😂 Paper cuts are the worst! Also yesss - Howl's Moving Castle is my favorite Ghibli movie!!!! 🥰 How closely do the book & movie match? o.O
I think they match pretty closely!! There are more characters in the book- we see a lot more of Sophie’s family- and then all of the characters are aged up. But I thought they were pretty similar!
New video notification : ✨✨✨👀 . Nobody Me in midnight 🕛 right now: how needs sleep anyways 😂♥️✨ . . (Ps: it’s midnight in India and I’m here watching your video cause can’t miss I would rather not sleep😂♥️)
I read "Lock Every Door" and I was somewhat disappointed. It was fine...but I was expecting it to be super scary or even containing ghosts. But no. Ah well. Maybe something else of Sager's will be better. A couple of books that I really loved, this year, were "Where the Crawdads Sing" and "The Forgotten Home Child". I know you've read "Where the Crawdads Sing", so I won't talk about that, but "The Forgotten Home Child" is amazing. I love reading historical fiction and this one hit a little close to home. It's about poor children/orphans who were brought from London to Canada to be sold to families and used as laborers. They were the Bernardo Children. This book is about a group of children who were friends on the streets of London. They were placed into Bernardo's orphanages and then sent to Canada. Once in Canada, all of the children in this little group were purchased by different families and ended up in different areas of Southern Ontario, each experiencing some level/type of abuse from their "owners". This book is very thought provoking and hit home, to me, because my paternal grandmother was adopted, but would never talk about her background and who her biological family was. It made me think that maybe she was one of the Bernardo Children.
My favourite books of 2020 were The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller, Starfish by Akemi Dawn Bowman and The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (ok, I know the last one is a play, but I'm counting it because of how much it made me laugh 😄)
Hey Need help!! Should I buy hardbacks or paperbacks? I'm planning a mega book haul but I can't decide. If its hardback than I have to reduce the number of books but paperback I can buy many. Help me decide
Ahh the age old question!! I’m not sure because I’ve changed my mind over the years! I love the way hardbacks look but I actually love the way paperback feels! I don’t think you can go wrong! 🥰
The movie Ready Player One changed so many things about the book I started questioning whether I even read the book. Book was great, movie not so much.
I need to stop watching your videos. My TBR is just growing way too fast. I found you when looking for middle grade recommendations and wasn’t interested in adult/ya right now. But here we are because I just enjoy your videos.
