    Hot water first, then your double shot espresso but try and get the stream to run from the handle down the side of the cup/glass and you'll have a thicker smoother crema. That's the traditional americano then!

      This is one of my earliest video I ever made. Thank you for watching!

      Hot water first is a long black. Americano is water poured ontop of the shot to disturb the crema and release aromas

      Ohhh so its like when you are pouring soda to ice, ok!!

    Water 1st! I see that comment was already made, but allowing the cream to lie unsustained on top of the Americano makes all the difference. You can add a small amount of cream, or keep it black, but this will allow for a sweeter smoother drink with the cream relatively intact rather than being disturbed by the water!
    Yum. I want to get one of these machines soon!

    Thanks for the video. I am in the market trying to find a americano cup which can fit the barista express. Your cup looks perfect, can you share where I can get one? Thanks in advance.

      @@chrisochs6442 I bought this one and it fits perfectly: www.macys.com/shop/product/zwilling-j.a.-henckels-sorrento-plus-cappuccino-glass-mug?ID=9063637, it was on sale for $33.59 before tax and free shipping. Although description didn't mention, there're two mugs inside. You can also get it from bed bath and beyond if it's OOS in Macy.

    This is not an Americano it's a long black the opposite of Americano. Americano is a pour over hot water.

    • @tonytouchzz
      @tonytouchzz 2 года назад

      Nope, its the other way around americano is the water poured on top of the espresso, long black is the espresso on top of water

    Wrong method! Water first, then espresso. And don’t remove the foam!😊

    I was looking at buying this machine. Do you really have to let the machine warm up for 30 minutes? That’s a deal breaker for me.

    • @eucmeyer
      @eucmeyer 3 года назад +3

      No, its warm on 20 seconds :-)

      That is just his preference. This machine is ready for action in well under a minute. We've had this machine for 7 months now and we're trying our best to wear it out. It's great.

      You don't have to, but your shots will likely be sour if you don't wait.
      Ideally the machine (and the portafilter) should be hot when extracting for the best results.

    Do you ever wipe down or clean your machine? Your machine is filthy and the water you pulled was brown. Yuck!
