    If the manufacturer's could make the whole car out of plastic they would. I hate that feeling when you know its going to break and then it does! Nice video 👍

      I absolutely agree I said the same thing to my friend that tube should be metal in my opinion, but more and more plastic parts translate in more and more profit because manufacturers know sooner or later it will be replaced ... cheers mate 👍

    Your a good man helping out a friend. But yes, some days it's just not worth getting out of bed for. But you got it handled and we got to see a good video. :)

    Nothing more annoying than a dripping leak which is exactly what I told my doctor. lol Nice fix man!

    I was worried you were gonna say that the coolant pipe would have to come off again to install the dipstick tube. Love the VW engines & their oil leaks!

      Thomas EXOVCDS luckily I didn’t have to, that intercooler hard plastic pipe was good enough but I was worried at one point too... VW OIL LEAKS I had a Passat sport 7 years ago and the same oil leaks, but it should be a lot better now we changed the oil filter housing gasket and new oil dipstick tube I think the old one was leaking too 🤞👍

    Oh Igor... if I would make a video of when things don't go as planned....
    🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
    But the important is keep calm, and find patient to go through....
    But hey, you still made a video out of it... so is not all bad...
    😉

      LM Auto Repairs oh man the coolant leak repair video was going so well until I had to wait for parts, finished the car in the dark all good and then this happened 🤬🤬🤬... but I agree with you those things happen working on cars ... cheers Luis 👍

    No matter what you do in life, there are days when things go wrong and at the end of the days work you are behind where you started from.

    How's she goin'? Isn't that always the way, you start a small job and it ends up being a big one!!! What a lot of work to get to be able to put in the dipstick tube. You did a nice job on it though. Was the oil level OK? Take 'er easy!!!

    i hate plastic parts around the engine... they are so fragile after all heat cycles and time. manufacturers are cutting cost and this is the price you have to pay later...

    • @CarsExposed
      @CarsExposed  5 лет назад

      shemmmo This oil dipstick tube is definitely one of those cases, sooner or later it will fail... cheers 👍

    First problem is you said you were working on your friends car. Whether it’s a friends car or a family member’s car to me it seems that if something can go wrong it will. Just trying to help someone out and becomes a pain in the ass

      I totally agree with you... I just think friends and family can be a little bit more understanding...👍
