To be fair regarding using ships to get to Mordor. The Anduin river goes from the Bay of Belfalas up along the western borders of Mordor and right near Minas Morgul. In theory that would be a good way to move troops for an invasion. I believe this is what the corsairs attempted to do with their black ships in the LOTR during the Battle of Pelennor Fields.
Why can’t Celebrimbor just recycle the metal from his pile of failed rings? Someone in Middle Earth can refine gold, silver and mithril, I thought maybe someone with a giant forge and three thousand years experience might have some knowledge.
There is like one character who was competent at their job in the whole show, and they killed him off by having him drop his sword in front of the guy he just held at swordpoint and turning his back to them
I really hope that amazon finally takes the advice and puts someone else in charge to save at least the final 3 seasons of that mess. Or to put it in the trash and act as if nothing ever happened.
The shot with the child sized dwarf, Durin, and best friend the circus tall man, is most certainly not correct. He came up to his waist, which is just another example of the lazy ignoring of detail this show is best at. Dwarves are not hobbits
@@mattteomatei3610 I am a huge fan of many movies and shows that I would never recommend to anyone, and many of those are imperfect movies where budget and shortcuts are obvious, but they don't stop me from enjoying them. The Rings of Hubris does not suffer from budget issues. It suffers from artists and creators who are either not capable of producing a higher quality show, or do not care enough about the details to do so. I've been on enough sets and behind the scenes that I believe it's one or the other. If someone already enjoys the show, this inconsistency won't stop them from continuing to do so. But for me, it's another sign that those putting this show together are in over their heads
@@mattteomatei3610 it'd be a nitpick if that was one of the few issues... The show has more issues than positive value. It butchers JRR's lore. Cant they like grow food outside just to you know not starve, at least until dwarf engineering that seems to disappear when plot dictates comes back? Batter with other people, races, you know basic economics.
Dwarves always traded for their food, they are miners and craftsman. Not farmers. They live in the damn ground. Maybe they have some surface settlements and fields, but it always seemed clearly implied that they live by trade. What else are they trading for? Just to collect huge piles of money? The only thing they need from others is food, and they do a ton of trading.
Far be it from me to defend the RINGS OF FOOLERY, but Eregion’s capital city (Ost-in-Edhil, which is never even mentioned in ROP, as its “writers” obviously think Eregion is a city, and not an **entire Elven realm,** as it is in THE SILMARILLION) is supposed--according to the lore--to be built right up to the Western Walls of Moria. That is how it is protected, actually, on its eastern side. So Durin IV’s trip from Khaz-a-DUMB to Eregion in a short space of time is *not* as unbelievable as all the other nonsensical teleporting in this garbage.
05:08 "I reckon the Elves put it there on purpose." ya reckon, do ya? are ya a bloody Aussie, mate? Thought you were some fantasy Numenorian. The DIALOGUE in this series! Merde.
I like to think that, when Adar asked "Halbrand's Sauron, isn't he?", Galadriel just inserted a cinematic dramatic pause, and both characters were awkwardly staring at each other for several days until Galadriel finally said "yes, he is Sauron".
"isn't Mordor landlocked by mountains" For some reason this show thinks there's a river that goes into Mordor. Galadriel herself said it earlier. Them setting up the Armada is because that was Galadriel's suggestion. Of course, keep in mind that if they had taken the land route they would have most likely rode right through Eregion so they could have both checked in on Celebrimbor _and_ still made their way to Mordor. Plus, even if sailing is faster than riding horses by land, to go by sea they have to travel all the way AROUND Middle-Earth to reach Pelargir which is the closest settlement to Mordor. At least the show gets that much right: Pelargir was established nearly 100 years before Numenor fell and Gondor was founded. The Poros River (a branch off the southern part of the Anduin), as far as I can tell, goes right up to the edge of Mordor on basically every map I have seen. On one map I saw, the main fork of the Anduin has a branch near Osgiliath that heads towards Bara'dur but it doesn't go all the way into Mordor. The western Nurn river gets close to the mountains. Maybe the show has updated the maps to have the Anduin go through an opening in the mountains and meet up with the Nurn? wallpaperaccess.com/full/4849089.jpg
The reason people say its the "definition of insanity" is because of pop culture quotes. I think everyone (or at least MOST everyone) knows its not LITERALLY the definition of insanity. Its like saying a person is the "definition of X", or "you can find X person's name in the dictionary next to X word". Its basically implying that it is insane to think repeating the same thing will get you a different result. Maybe some people take the phrase literally, but I think its obvious to most people its just an exaggeration to make a point.
This reminds me of the passage of time. If you think about it, the passage of time, there is something about the passage of time, that is unique to the passage of time.
Almost all major scenes in the series do not pan out. But scenes with Disa in them make me facepalm everytime. I am going to watch this show just for the serious moments that make me facepalm and laugh.
Man, the dwarves are going to be soooooo pissed when they realize he isn't recycling the metal from the failed attempts, but feeding it to the rats instead.
The fact that elves have eternal life but numenoreans don’t is actually the real motivation in the book for their fall. But it was stoked by Sauron and they’re rushing it
And sauron was defeated In mordor by the numenoreans and brought back to numenor where he slowly convinced the king to release him and then became his advisor. Eventually they were doing human sacrifice in the name of morgoth and then set sail with a huge armada to attack the undying lands so eru illuvatar destroyed the armada and sank numenor. They don't seem to be putting any of that into the show. And if they do they should have already had sauron being captured or they should have only focused on the making of the rings and eregions destruction the first two seasons then did the numenoreans downfall in seasons 3 and 4 then had the war of the last alliance in season 5 and the Eventually defeat of sauron all in the last season. Doesn't that make more sense? How it's going now I don't see them putting it all in 5 seasons. They wasted 2 seasons with literally nothing happening.

And then right at the end, we are finally caught up with what we saw in the beginning and the conversation can continue!?! But it only “looked” simple to them, because they ignored all the things you also need to do to make it work!!! Like 1st off, it needs to be in the very beginning!!! And also they needed to pull out their power points equipment again to tell the audience if we are jumping backwards, forwards, a different dimension, what?!? A better show?!? Something lol And many many more!!! But it also seems like they didn’t add it because they didn’t want to deal with the conversations to explain any of this!?! I just love how they are deep in the mountain, but knock a hole in a wall and boom, halfway up a mountain. Also if so many tunnels and such are merely feet from the outside, why didn't they already put in windows?! Oh and as for Morgoths crown..... I have never seen him portrayed as anything but a fk off huge giant, like at smallest he may only be 20 to 30 feet tall, in others he is like 50 to 100 feet tall. His crown would be freakin huge! Or do the writers think Morgoth had a really tiny head like that shrunken head guy in OG Beetlejuice?
To be fair the Ring was also able to change size. How do you think it fit just perfect on Sauron, as well as the Hobbits? They explicitly say so in the text. Assuming his crown also has some sort of inherent power, that's not absolutely impossible.
And renewed for a third season, apparently. The money Amazon set on fire to produce this sewage must have caused more than a few brain bleeds. While I'm thankful that the Age of Activism seems to be winding down, (can't lost money forever) I'd appreciate it if they picked up the pace a bit.
I think you can bookend an episode of a TV show with the same conversation and wedge a week and seven storyline in between. Breaking bad and many others shows did it. They just lack the skill to use that narrative device. Otherwise you're spot on. The insta travel makes the world feel small and the plot fall apart. They buy flexibility to keep from getting trapped by their lazy writing, and pay dearly with ack of cohesion, shallow world building, absurd plot holes. Happened to Star Wars as well btw, a galaxy where everything is a 45 minute commute away.

I keep being surprised at just how dumb the plot threads are, the more i actually find out what they are. And can't really fault the door, it was Tolkiens door originally, but i admit that not only is putting your password in the damn hint a risky idea, anyone who happens to overhear it by standing near when they open the door will know it also. You can't untell anyone once they know, and the number of people who know the word will multiply over time. It's not really much of a security system. Other than being essentially invisible except at the right times, i guess that's a good point. But if an enemy spy were to follow your friends to the door, he would not only see where it is, but he would be able to hear the word to enter. There is a reason they don't do voice control PINs at credit card machines.
I thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink the whole Ar-Pharazôn thing with being angry about eventually dying and then telling his son randomly that he's going to die is supposed to be sowing the seeds for the nine rings for Men later? RoP doesn't seem to explain it well, but all the rings of power give the races what they desire most. Elves are given the power of restoration, resistance, and preservation (so the Elves won't die out), dwarves are given skill enhancements for mining and crafting, and men are given the power of immortality. This is a really rough explanation and I could be wrong on some of those, but that's the gist of it. The way it's being presented in RoP feels extremely forced and random. If that's where they're trying to take it, then they're taking it into a nosedive straight into the ground.
I didnt made a single episode of this, i wanted a good laugh and always tuned in after 11pm...as said that was so fucking boring that my records before fallin asleep was 25min into ep4...this show is a cure for insomnia

Ringpiece of Prime… watched the first season as I wanted to love it, but by the mid season episodes I was literally forcing myself. I haven’t and won’t bother with the second season.
Tbf Pharazons reason for the great armada was also his oursuit of immortality like the elves and also the Numenorean arriving in force is often described by a great armada even if they land away from their goal. Otherwise i totally agree
@@DarkHourYT Oh sorry my bad then. I honestly lack the necessary background, because I couldn't bare the constant strokes caused in my frontal lobe by the cognitive dissonance since episode 1 of this season. And believe me I rried ignoring it being a show about the second age, but even then the pure idiocy of this series had me quit halfway through. So basically 90% of the knowledge of this series comes from reviews such as this.
All the conflict in this show is contrived and relies on characters seeing visions of the future and being cartoonishly stupid in order for the plot to progress.
i have seen so many reviews of the scene with kemen and elendil "fight" and no one has commented on wtf is kemen doing with that gesture on elendil chin before he was gonna punch him, like wtf was that???
I think he was just tipping his face in the direction best to land a punch in 😂😂 kind of like a stereotypical, comically overplayed "bad guy" move/gesture before the final blow is dealt, like how sometimes antagonists are seen chuckling menacingly or arrogantly monologuing to the hero in children's cartoons.
My wife asks me why I watch it if I hate it. I ask her if her grandmother was on death row, would you be there for the execution... it's like that. #Celebrimborinsideme #Shadowofmordor
I'm not really sure I would feel bound to go watch my grandmother's execution. That's kind of a weird analogy. For what, moral support? Enjoyment? Duty? Probably depends on what she did as well. But I would also say this isn't your grandmother, it's an imposter who is being sentenced for stealing your grandmother's identity and draining her bank accounts. Only the sentencing is the videos like this mocking it, watching the show itself is more like watching the actual crime. And I had a somewhat nastier crime metaphor I was going to use initially, an act I think it's probably more analogous to what this show is doing to Tolkiens work. But it was a little too much.

Why can’t Celebrimbor just recycle the metal from his pile of failed rings? Someone in Middle Earth can refine gold, silver and mithril, I thought maybe someone with a giant forge and three thousand years experience might have some knowledge.
You know I considered adding that line but i thought about it and it's mixed with other metals so it's no longer pure that actually can be justified
The Elephant lady! 😂😂😂 she infuriates me more than gyuladriel somehow.
She's the worst
Neverending Torture... sounds like the Weird Al version of this damn show!
They can't even get the scale between the elves and the dwarves right. Oh Amazon, you manage to screw up on every conceivable level
What scale do you mean? Travelling? Eregion and Khazad dum are literally next to each other
The shot with the child sized dwarf, Durin, and best friend the circus tall man, is most certainly not correct. He came up to his waist, which is just another example of the lazy ignoring of detail this show is best at. Dwarves are not hobbits
@@RichardBirdsall Ah, that's what you mean. Come on, you're nitpickijg. It was the sane with John Rhys Davies in the movies.
It is a show made by morons, for morons... sorry not sorry. if you enjoy it that's fine. people also enjoy facebook and the Kardashians. they can enjoy those things and im not going to stop them. Having said that, i also wont be stopped from calling them idiots.
I love your ads in the middle of your videos hahaha!
That's honestly why I love doing shows
Everyone who played the first Pokémon games still has that void within their heart and know very well there is no greater dread than being overwhelmed with Zubats.
Cant they like grow food outside just to you know not starve, at least until dwarf engineering that seems to disappear when plot dictates comes back?
Batter with other people, races, you know basic economics.
Yeah, he covered that in the last video I think
Fresh berries in the hellscape of mordor lol they looked organic too

Stayed for the obnoxious nicknames 😂
05:08 "I reckon the Elves put it there on purpose."
ya reckon, do ya? are ya a bloody Aussie, mate? Thought you were some fantasy Numenorian.
The DIALOGUE in this series! Merde.
I like to think that, when Adar asked "Halbrand's Sauron, isn't he?", Galadriel just inserted a cinematic dramatic pause, and both characters were awkwardly staring at each other for several days until Galadriel finally said "yes, he is Sauron".
"isn't Mordor landlocked by mountains"
For some reason this show thinks there's a river that goes into Mordor.

The reason people say its the "definition of insanity" is because of pop culture quotes. I think everyone (or at least MOST everyone) knows its not LITERALLY the definition of insanity. Its like saying a person is the "definition of X", or "you can find X person's name in the dictionary next to X word".
Its basically implying that it is insane to think repeating the same thing will get you a different result.
Maybe some people take the phrase literally, but I think its obvious to most people its just an exaggeration to make a point.
Congrats on 10K :D
Thank you so much 😀
This reminds me of the passage of time. If you think about it, the passage of time, there is something about the passage of time, that is unique to the passage of time.
To be unbound by what has been.
Almost all major scenes in the series do not pan out. But scenes with Disa in them make me facepalm everytime.
I am going to watch this show just for the serious moments that make me facepalm and laugh.
Only one more episode. It feels like to be addicted to alcohol. You hate the hangover but you allways you drink again

ROP has the same appeal as the Titanic: Gigantic, bombastic and born of hubris but meeting a tragic fate.
It has some parallels, but not the same appeal. There is no real tragedy here, just disappointment and frustration. No heroism or pathos. No shock and outrage at the failure. The Titanic is just one of those amazing true stories that is powerful and moving in every element, it just gets to you, you couldn't write it as perfectly if you tried. This is just a normal tale of hubris and incompetence. Maybe villainy as well, there is definitely something fishy about what they are doing with characters like Galadriel.
In their defense, with every episode they managed to dig deeper into the mountain of bad "artistic" decisions, effectively surprising me with every step that anyone would willingly get that low.
@DarkHourYT Hail another great video thank you for your work. I have a question do you study martial arts with your avatar wearing a GI and the belts. If you do what styles have you studied? I'm a bit of a martial artist as well.

She didnt see the balrog, she saw sauron while wearing the ring
Cos she was in the forge room with him. Where did you get balrog from?
I think because they were hinting at him earlier and the scene was so close I just assumed she meant that
@DarkHourYT ah, righto. Good vid anyways. I'm sure the last couple of episodes will provide plenty more cannon fodder :)
I honestly think they were trying to do that technique (or whatever it’s called) where you started off the episode already at the end. Then jump back to the beginning (aka to learn “how and why we are where we are at the end”)! And then right at the end, we are finally caught up with what we saw in the beginning and the conversation can continue!?! But clearly the director of this saw a “better director” do it and thought it looked simple!?! And therefore left it out and hoped either no one would notice or people would figure it out on their own!?! I don’t know…….. it’s still just a guess because I can’t see it from their perspective! My IQ is far too high for that! Lol
@ 0:50 its because the directors made Lost and this pacing of storytelling would work on a series that is made for TV viewing
I usually try to watch these episodes before watching the review/commentary videos in order to have context and to form y own option, but I just can't stand to sit through this completely horrid lore destroying LotR adaptation. Thank you for doing this for your audience.

At 276:05, hey, let's be fair here, a horde of Zubats is really annoying to deal with. It was obviously Disa's plan to whittle away the miners' HP with Poison and Confuse.
I really appreciate that you believe I can write a script which would take 276 minutes

You know I was thinking that too. But I don't know enough to call that stuff out at I avoid it.
To be fair the Ring was also able to change size. How do you think it fit just perfect on Sauron, as well as the Hobbits? They explicitly say so in the text. Assuming his crown also has some sort of inherent power, that's not absolutely impossible.
It's hilarious that the mighty Dwarves run like little girls from a bunch of Bats. LMAO

Tombiwan Yodabilobi is the biggest joke of it all. It's a carbon copy of Yoda and Dagobah because why create something original or you know..STICK TO THE BOOK!?
Silmarillion Valaquenta: "Orólin (which is Gandalf) learned much from Nienna, Sister of Vala Mandos and Irmos, acquainted to her are grief, sorrow but also PITY and Courage. Have Gand-grand-elf learn from an actual Vala. Instead of Tombiwan Yodabilobi who does nothing but bastardise the lesson Gandalf taught Frodo about pity, because we all know that 'killing' a pitiable creature like Smeagol is totally the same as saying "Bah, old tom don't care about your friends. Friends or stick? Take your pick, Hi Ho the dilly doo"
Sauron, sees a Balrog in the flames, cementing he knows that a FREAKING BALROG is right there..."farewell"...Uhm...NO?! You're THE lieutenant of Morgoth. Sure you're 'just as powerful' (as they are both Maiar, Sauron and Balrogs) but you're telling me he wouldn't try to recruit that thing?! *drinker voice* "fuck off amazon"

This is funny. Takes me away from my sorrows over the LV Raiders
You beat my Ravens so you have that going
Can’t defeat Sauron and Adar? Yet the only army we have seen is adars…. And nobody even knows who Sauron is or where he is …
I thiiiiiiiiiiiiiiink the whole Ar-Pharazôn thing with being angry about eventually dying and then telling his son randomly that he's going to die is supposed to be sowing the seeds for the nine rings for Men later? RoP doesn't seem to explain it well, but all the rings of power give the races what they desire most. Elves are given the power of restoration, resistance, and preservation (so the Elves won't die out), dwarves are given skill enhancements for mining and crafting, and men are given the power of immortality. This is a really rough explanation and I could be wrong on some of those, but that's the gist of it. The way it's being presented in RoP feels extremely forced and random. If that's where they're trying to take it, then they're taking it into a nosedive straight into the ground.

Tbf Pharazons reason for the great armada was also his oursuit of immortality like the elves and also the Numenorean arriving in force is often described by a great armada even if they land away from their goal.

i have seen so many reviews of the scene with kemen and elendil "fight" and no one has commented on wtf is kemen doing with that gesture on elendil chin before he was gonna punch him, like wtf was that???
I think he was just tipping his face in the direction best to land a punch in 😂😂 kind of like a stereotypical, comically overplayed "bad guy" move/gesture before the final blow is dealt, like how sometimes antagonists are seen chuckling menacingly or arrogantly monologuing to the hero in children's cartoons.

I started those commercials back during Acolyte
Make sure you rate it a thumbs down
