They all do this - Ford being the worst culprit Quick fix, cut the factory band off, and put the rubber hose directly on with a hose clip. Some pipes have flat spots, so as long as you put the rubber over and beyond those before clamping it will be fine.
Low coolant will cause steam damage and do that to plastic parts. Especially the tops of Radiator tanks. NOT saying that's what happened to this particular part.. This could just be age.
What I am sick of it. Is the thermostat of my 2018 ram. Just lasts a year, the thermostat housing internally the arms that holds the actual thermostat keeps cracking. I wish this should be revised and be aluminum. Just like old school. Cuz plastic doesn't hold sh*t.
Plastic does that when it gets hot and cools down hundreds of times. It just happens. Nothing in the coolant can prevent that. It sucks that we are stuck with these plastic parts these days, but that's just how it is in the modern auto world, no matter what manufacturer made it.
You have no idea what it take to replace this hose dude. So how on earth would you know what need to be removed if you've never done one?. I'm willing to bet you don't even know what engine in here.

And a lot of engines have the same lay out just different manufacturers. So you ain’t gonna sit there ain’t say I ain’t never done somthing like that. Lmfao. It’s lasted almost 10 years, not bad. Dorman hasn’t produced this hose yet, but you could cut the fitting off and replace it.
Work on Euros all day, see this similar style of quick release hose on everything and they break exactly like that.

Most of the time the only problem is that it's made of plastic. That plastic gets old and brittle from the heating and cooling
