- If you pre-ordered a Hubsan Zino 2 chances are you will have an issue with the controller micro USB port sooner or later. In this video I show how to fix and Duranafy your controller to get rid of "USB Cable Not Connected" error, which makes your Zino 2 unuseable. You either fix the micro USB port or you purchase a new controller to be able to fly again.

Same problem on my rc. Now I know how to repair it. Thank you
Glad I was able to share and help.
Thanks for the video good information!
Glad it was helpful!
Just Subbed. I'm having the same problem with my hubsan pro controller and it looks like I do the same thing. I wonder why Hubsan keeps making their controller's with what obviously is a problem. Heck they made a video telling you to cut the little stoppers on micro usb so it would plug in better only problem is the dang micro usb pushs right off of board and that's what I did and it broke within a few flights. Hubsan should fix that problem with every customer that followed Hubsans videie. Now I have a broken controller and no soldering skills. This sucks. I was going to buy Zino 2 plus but if they havent fixed this defect by now I'm going to another quadcopter company. It's a way to sell more controller's which by the way aren't cheap. I guess a refurbished yuneec typhoon h or Autel 1. Come on hubsan get your crap together!!
Hubsan is always producing stuff that could be so much better. We do all the quality control for them!
I think I'm owed some crash dummy pay😉
Great work Al, you made it work again at the middle of the pandemic, congratulations! My Z2 RC micro-USB connector pins were worse off. I did not understand how you soldered it back without adding soldering between the 5 connection pins - with no Amplification Scope. I believe the most vulnerable point is the connector's back, that's where it needs glue to be added. Need also to add glue to the two Antenna connectors, because if they disconnect during flying, the communication link will be lost. Also, it is better to use a permanent short micro-USB to regular USB cable, before the connector desolders again or it's interior brakes, because there are so many connections - disconnections to make, that it won't last. Bravo again, you are a pro!
Thank you so much @BlueSkyver! It was you that first brought this issue to our attention and a week later I tried to fly at Lake Anna and that is when my micro USB port failed. I did use magnification glasses to put some solder on the 5 pins pads and the inserted the connector and reheated the pins andthe solder took hold of the pins... Lucky me! I also hot glued the antenna connectors and USB port
@@Duranafy Great Al, the important is that you can fly it fully functional! You did great. See me flying the MA2 like you... ruclips.net/video/HtWNdmM0gDM/видео.html
@@Duranafy It looks like it has "thru the board" pins and not surface mount pads. Is that the case? If so it would be much easier for people to fix this. My first thought was to per-emptively epoxy the connector to prevent a break but on sencond thought that might make it harder to fix once the poor factory soldering eventually went "cold". Thanks for the video!
Thanks for sharing. My ht016b control has a damaged joystick potentiometer, how can I repair it or where to get the potentiometer?
Thanks for the video and info. I tend to leave mine in and only remove it very carefully when necessary for charging. Time will tell if I have to do this.
You are welcome
Good to hear you are carefull.
Wooow that is awesome.! I have a problem with the upgrade with my Zino 2, because it doesn't go beyond 99%
Thanks you sir. Good luck with your upgrade.
What!!.. I got the zino and I got like 5- plugs I put and it says not connected, you mean to tell me I gotta do this?!🤨
I did this almost as soon as I got my Z2 a month back due to this known problem. Mine was soldered, but poorly mounted. Once I corrected that, I used a generous amount of epoxy to lock it firmly to the board.
Because the usb port is located snugly between two circuit boards, I used hot glue to fill the gap between them (In case I needed to separate them again).
That usb port isn't going anywhere now!
Great idea and thanks for sharing!
Hi, i receive the drone but after upgrade the firmware, the usb port get broken. It dont charge and i hae to be pressing hard the connector for get it charging. in the video, Are you soldering 5 "pins" plus 2 pins for attach it to the motherboard? if you are soldering the 5 pins individualy, its very hard do it.... :/
Awesome Bro!!!!! so glad i ordered the Fimi 2020 :-) They shipped it out today!!!! so far what i'm seeing it is looking Awesome :-)
we will have to fly one day Cheers :-)
Hope you enjoy it!
Hi sir thanks for sharing this video. I have a problem with remote . Right stick roll is automatically pushing quad right when i on the engine. Is there anyway to centre the right roll stick. It is pushing quad right side . I have asked hubsan since they have no solution. I have waited 3 month and after purchase just flew 10 minutes
DO have another friend near by with a Zino 2? If so use his controller on your aircraft and test to see if it is your controller or your aircraft! You might have to buy a new controller. Cheaper and faster than sending it in to Hubsan!
Good luck my friend!
Great video. The Zino Pro Controller battery is only good for 2-3 flights. That sucks! Is it possible to wire in an external battery jack? Could you do a video? Zino owners would be grateful.
That is a great idea my friend!
@@Duranafy there is possible change original battery 3350mAh with 5000mAh battery. Video is on youtube.
@@imsims-is6hq What size is the battery? I am looking ..
@@franp.3824 on Aliexpress look for string "HUBSAN ZINO 2 5000mAh" . Battery is little longer, but is possible put it without any plast cutting...
@@imsims-is6hq ok I saw in shop and battery 18650 are Fake more (>3400mAh), I am thinking if is possible than not charge while I am flying and use data alone with microusb
Thanks for the video, this will be useful if I need to repair mine ✌🏻
Keep your fingers crossed.
Thx for sharing dude... Very inspirative
My pleasure! Stay safe @Rama Fortunema!
That wasn’t soldered at all!!! Now I have to take mine apart. I have no connection. USB port works but I bet my antennas aren’t connected. Last hubsan product I buy.
I thought my playback was speeded up 😯🙂
LOL..... Thanks for the support and the laugh! Stay safe @William Horsley!
Yep aint soldered from the official Hubsan certification seeking docs.

I'm still laughing at your comment... Please keep them coming!
Hi. If it's new and not broke can I use super glue on the outside edge. Obviously I don't know what I'm doing. Is there a way to leave plug in controller and put some reverse connection so I won't need to ever unplug from controller. What's your advice on fixing it before it break's. Thanks and have a great day
that is exactly what I do... I Leave the cable in the controller port and never take it out. I have a USB C power supply
Great job you saved your self $69 dollars
Thank you sir. Agreed!
Hello my friend, good morning and a big like 🤗😊👋👋👋👌
A good job,very naiçe!!what can't you do with a little patience !?
Very naiçe job,.!!!!!!!!!
Pass on my channel I have new videos!8 like carvadooooo.
good bless
Good work 👍👌🤗
Thank you sir.
omprei um zino2 chegou ontem 29/05, porém ja detectei esse problema na atualização de firmware. com essa dica vou procurar um profissional da area pra recolver isso pra mim. parabéns pelo vídeo.
Glad you purchased a Zino you will enjoy it! I did a range test today and it flew 4 km and return home safely.
The Zino 2 controller can be modified before you it fails by adding hot glue to the port so it will not move off the Printed circuit board.
@@Duranafy Hello friend, so putting only hot glue solves the problem and you don't need to weld?
Tou com o mesmo problema, usei em alguns momentos, mas agora não mostra imagem.
My Zino 2 + just arrived but unfortunately a stick is broken I think he has no spring tension can I fix it myself or am I doing something wrong ?
Yes you can fix it yourself! But, you will void the warranty
@@Duranafy It has no warranty Sticker so i Think they dont know
Your voice keeps dropping out?
Sorry for the voice drop out.
I dnt have hubsan, but i watched.. 🤔
Thanks for the support @rehash
Hubsan quality keeps taking a nose dive. Glad I didn’t buy this dud. My original Zino works fine😷👍👍
Not mine. The dang thing has a defective micro USB port due to bad design
