- BMX Streets continues to evolve, yet not from the developer-side. Modders are creating maps almost daily, and they range from galactic space farms to real-life spots. Sitting squarely in the middle of those is Broad Street skatepark, a mod map that recently dropped from Roartex89.
One of the main complaints with BMX Streets is the map and its lack of 'life'. I don't mind it being an empty city -- no cars, no people, it's fine for me -- I'd rather the dev worked on quality of life fixes and other annoying bugs over populating the city. However, it's the general feeling of the city. It's spaced out. Washed out. And generally pretty depressing.
Enter the modders. Enter Roartex89. A hero in the modding community who I hope will continue to develop his skills and maps so we can all enjoy them. He has figured out something delicious and secret with regards to lighting and textures, and he's very much in a league of his own. To be clear, I'm grateful for all the maps, but since creating these epic edits is my jam, I'm going to be spending a lot of time with Roartex89's maps.
In my opinion, this is what the main game should look like. I implore the dev to employ (implore to employ?) Roartex89 and his secret army of 3D slaves to create more of this for the official map.

@@unclesbones oh for sure. I was wondering if a game like this would have a multiplayer. like a non competitive one where you'd sit in calls with people and just ride around an environment talking with others. Sort of stuff i'd do in real life haha.
It has exactly that! You can ride with up to three friends, although the lobbies may even have been expanded by now. People are having a little trouble with it, but I think it will be fixed.

@@unclesbones - It's awesome but the bunnyhop would be like 5 feet high w/ no tuck, just a straight stanced 60 inch bunnyhop.... There should be a mechanic where the longer you hold the higher you will hop so you can mini hops, like from the hanger to nose mani you was trying in the video. It would make stuff like that feel more real... Same goes for the spin mechanics, it could be a charge up before jumping, but then again I do like being able to bunnyhop backflip and stuff like that in game so maybe just keep it weird. LoL 😂👍
Hah, yeah the flip whip hop is always fun ☺️ I totally agree though, loading spins and long-holding for bigger hops seems like a good idea to implement. Let’s see what the dev comes up with.

U act like this is a skater xl situation where devs just gave up on making shit look realistic he plans on updating look of base map evetually just has alot more he wants to do before he worrys about filling world out rest of way its a single dev and the size of base map alone is really impressive
Thanks for the comment, Leland. The size of the map is only impressive if you are impressed by large things. I don’t believe something being big equates to something being good. Look at this mod map, for example - super high quality and extremely playable yet really small. Also, since we’re talking about size, there are some ‘small’ but extremely significant bugs and problems in the game which still haven’t been addressed. The game was patched a bunch in the first few days, then it’s been largely untouched since then (not including experimental). I am aware it’s a single dev, but that doesn’t mean basic quality of life updates should take a back seat. That said, I wasn’t aware that the dev was planning on updating the base map - where did he talk about this? He posted an official road map on the discord and there is zero mention of updating the map. Do you know something I don’t? Thanks again.
Mod maps are saving the game you make the game sound as though it’s shite…. The games good with out the maps the maps just make it better they ain’t saving the game!
