At 74, it's only natural that he will have problems remembering new lyrics...He should have just been given songs he was comfortable with and to be frank, he had memory issues with those too. He was really good and a fresh addition to the show. What a spirit!
PS : Maybe the lyrics could have been put up in front of him.
So basically lower the standards of the majority because of the minority, gotcha

The Voice Kids definitely keeps the words up for them, and even on this show when younger kids audition they do the same, what’s the difference with an older man? I’d think of all people he should get the leeway. His spirit is amazing.

OMG 74 can I be you when I grow up! The gift of age is that you have lived all those emotions they sing about.
I loved him the most when he was open about his age and said, "I'm just glad to be here... Period." That's when I felt I connected with him the most, not when he was trying to sing current songs. Although his rendition of "Only Love Can Hurt This Much" was heartfelt and amazing. I think if he'd embraced his age throughout the journey instead of fighting it, I would have loved and connected with him more. I'm so glad he chose Delta, and their moments during his speech at the end were sooo moving. She truly fought for him and loves him.

It wasn't cool but I love the moment when George burst in Guy's critique. He was right with some key issues but the manner he addressed it could have dumped anyone's confidence. But hey, Delta settled it wisely
But to an extent Steve put the pressure on himself from the start (“We’ve got unfinished business-I want to WIN!”). A late change of song certainly did not help; but Delta did not want to do what Jessie J did a few seasons back (end up admitting she chose the wrong song for her two members, with the result no one was happy). Then he gets paired with a 12-year-old in the next round, not only singing & playing his song but playing her song as well; he pulls that one out only to get a harder song which did him in.

Even though Jesse won(rightfully so😏) in the battle round, I felt so bad for Steve. Glad he is doing well && still chasing his dreams && doing what he loves !!! Beautiful to see💖😚
