      Most people have kids and work 50 hours a week, attend the gym 5-6 days. Joe literally makes a video once a week. Fair play for being consistent with uploads but it's hardly awe inspiring.

      Im not saying that people who do work 50 hours every week with kids aren't amazing lol. Also, Joe does more than "Literally one video a week" @@FireMMA619

    "The way we reduce our time dieting is not by dieting faster, it's by bulking slower." 👌👌👌👏👏👏
    Can relate to this - for the first time, I'm able to lean bulk at a proper rate of 1% of bw per month by controlling the caloric surplus. Progress is much slower but have been able to maintain leanness, definitely worth the patience.

    The concept of mini-bulking has been game changing to me. It’s important to me to be somewhat lean, so I can have great heart health and perform better well in activities like soccer, climbing, and trail hiking… even though I do these far less frequently than lifting. So, my diet is set to keep me at a reasonable weight. However, 2-3 times a year, I allow myself to gain 5-6 lbs over a period of about 8 weeks and focus on rep-strength PRs and. Then I spent the subsequent 6-8 weeks losing weight slowly… and finish by that “cut” at a slightly higher body weight than where I started. So this amounts to a strategy of higher highs and higher lows in body weight…. Ultimately accomplishing that last principle is the only thing that matters in the long term

    • @Andreas-qu9rz
      @Andreas-qu9rz 9 месяцев назад

      This is exactly my plan for the coming years. How would you recommend I change my training when the "mini-bulk" ends? Deload and form work, or will my gains suffer?

    • @shahargabay2808
      @shahargabay2808 9 месяцев назад

      @@Andreas-qu9rz I would not change the training intensity at all. If you're having a hard time dealing with the workout on a deficit you can consider decreasing volume

    • @spencerschubert5001
      @spencerschubert5001 9 месяцев назад

      @@Andreas-qu9rz what the other guy said. My training does not change with weight targets/trajectory. While losing weight. I still make an effort to beat PRs (even on something like a tricep pushdown or calf raise), I just don’t beat myself up about it if I only match or do 1 rep less. The mentality changes slightly during the mini bulk. If I cannot at least get a tiny bit of weight more one ONE set or a half rep or something I can write down as an improvement, I use might add something in my program like “do extra 4th set, if no improvement was made”. So if my cumulative performs on the first three sets of something was better than the prior attempt, I don’t do a 4th set. If I only match or do worse, I continue with a 4th set. This is my primary means of adding manageable volume while in a surplus. Myoreps could work great doing the same concept, but I typically don’t do them because it’s harder for me to track

    • @spencerschubert5001
      @spencerschubert5001 9 месяцев назад +1

      @@Andreas-qu9rz as for fatigue management… 2-3 full weeks of complete rest per year, lined up with vacation/family travel. And for me, a deload with 2/3 volume and 4-5 RIR about every 8 weeks. But I find I don’t really need the deload week sometimes, because I allow myself to rest more days intermittently when I feel more tired.
