So, you speak truth! More people need to hear and realize this. Improving is a marathon not a race and we go at our own pace. Consistency is key! Major props to you bro! Lil Nigga You can't really count your art from when you were a child because children don't have the necessary motor skills etc and don't focus on improvement the way you can now at 14. Practice now and you'll see a lot of progress in a year!
I've been drawing constantly since i was a 1 year old (28 now) and would sit there with a stack of print paper just filling sheets up with drawings as one of my favourite pastimes. The amount of progress that you made between 2015 and 2016 is freakish to me. I went from A to B like that over probably a decade, every time you improve it feels like cracking a code and understanding perspective and shadows and all that jazz in a more refined way, and climbing onto a new plateau, and it looks like you broke like 50 plateaus and went from B grade highchool art to comic industry level in a mind-boggling amount of time.
Yeah, your attitude lost me at: "but I'll guarantee you they did not work as hard as me to get to where I am today". You can't call out people for being dumb for doubting your skill, while then simultaneously doubting their own experiences. If it's one thing I've learnt about art in all my years of drawing, education and working alongside other artists, is that it's entirely unique to every individual. And being humble in acknowledging this is something that gives you much greater insight into other peoples' works, efforts and potential. Two people could put in an identical routine for an identical amount of time, with completely different results. You have to see it from this point of view: if Person A does something and gets amazing results, but then Person B does the exact same thing and gets nothing from it, Person B is bound to call BS, or feel disadvantaged to some extent. That's just something you have to expect when sharing your own path of improvement, be it in any field. And the last thing those critics need is someone just telling them "well you're not working as hard as me".
Kecu Kritiques it’s so self-important , isn’t it - ‘I worked the hardest’, look at me and how great I am. Fucking bullshit. I been drawing for 20 years and my art has gotten worse! Because I rarely use references and don't aim to learn or improve. I just like to draw for fun.
Dude use referances it really helps. I've been drawing my whole life and gave it up in highschool because I couldn't really imagine things like I used to. I got back into drawing like a month ago and decided to use references to see what all the fuss was about. Ive been drawing every day now because of how much it helps. I used to not do it because I thought it was cheating or whatever but it actually really helps improve your technique. Also I'd recommend drawing with pens instead of pencil, it really helps you focus and the end poduct looks 10 times better.
@@pragashb5 alot of things made me want to start drawing again(first my nephew started scribbling on papers, then i played rdr2 and Arthur's drawings reminded me of my old drawings from school, then i was hanging out with my friend and he showed me that he'd been drawing in one of my old sketch books that I gave him) One day when I was bored I decided to draw an alex ross batman. Drew him in a static pose and decided to outline it in pen and it boosted my confidence. I really liked how it looked and then I drew the joker, then wonder woman and just took off from there. I've been drawing basically everyday since then. I guess using a new tool really helped, I never knew my drawings could look this good.
I like to draw when i was little and i didn't know if i had a talent of drawing or not but, you motivated me now, i know i have a talent of drawing, thanks!
Me going through my old art: Rips it into pieces like a maniac, burns it and destroys the ashes. ZHC going through his old art: Shows it to everybody without showing any embarrassment at all. Let's just take a second to admire his courage and improvement👏🏻
I remember when we had a class assignment about drawing hominids into super hero's I drew the flash as a hominid and mine was the best out of the entire class and I honestly didn't like my picture but everyone liked it
I'm 14 and I started to learn to draw. I always get mad When I can get it right I probably have very high expectations. So I Just go off drawing and then I go to you're videos and they inspire me Thank you!.
You may have to add the fact that most of the recent artworks had some references. You drew them looking up other images while probably in the older pieces you didn't: that's a cause of why the first drawings are so amateurish. I'm not saying that you copied someone else, in fact the improvement it's very real, but having a reference for the details really helps. Maybe you even just came up with all these drawings without looking up anything, I dunno. Still, it's very good, I started drawing 5 years ago and I'm still not quite at your level
Most of these are just straight out of my head haha i used reference for maybe the first year or two and stopped after that. But reference is indeed a great learning tool
Don't tell someone to not use references! All good artists use reference until they are extremely comfortable drawing the subject matter from their head, and some might always continue to use references anyway. And by reference I mean using a picture to make sure you're getting the correct body proportions and pose. Don't draw from other people's art work.
This is me, except I'm going to pick it back up now.. and I'm older than you lol. I drew a LOT in my youth. Like.. a ton a ton, but just got in to this major artist's block. Nothing I did made me happy to do it. I did random art here and there, but never drew like I used to and eventually just stopped. I don't think I've doodled anything in years. Watching art youtube channels is helping to bring back up the passion again though. SO thank you for making your channel and sharing all of this.
My brain does stuff like this sometimes. Like the other day my brain decided the past-tense of fit was fat. That's actually kind of appropriate, but you know what I mean.
I just noticed this.😂😂😂he’s improved so much as an artist and a youtuber. I’ve been going back and watching his old videos. He used to be so awkward and didn’t have much presence. But now he’s really comfortable and having fun with it
Hello, Very impressive progress, really I think you are tricking us, :) I see this video was uploaded on 28th April, not in 1st of April! I'm know people, with a lot of potential, but their art skills are pretty damn locked.. Those people for over 14 years are still making drawings with the same level or getting worse instead! They didn't ever take any risk, only doing the same "manga-stylish" drawing confort zone Did you train with Kaiō-sama under 10 times the gravity of Earth?? Your improved is the fastest thing I'd ever seen, really is awesome!!! ¡Best regards!
Hi Lynx Lot: Manga Style is not one Style, really there are several different ways to draw manga/japanese characters, Manga = Comic! So, many manga and Animé drawings are not bad at all but are pretty damn overrated!. So, I know many guys and gals that are only able to draw the same cliché large eyes and small mouth face, and the same pose, placed with different colors. That kind of penciler won't ever learn how to draw properly The Human Anatomy figure. Manga is not the problem, the problem is the bad attitude, clichés, and be stuck to that confort zone! A training under correct conditions is the best way to improve the drawing in relative short time Best!
+Lynx Lot: Yep, I know people, as I mentioned before, with a lot of potential, but unfortunately their skills are trapped in their own confort zone. I'm want to improve my drawing skills in that 10 times earth gravity zone! :) Best!
@@martalover17 yes but does he need to voice it out and put the artist down? But I do agree, he can have opinions, just don't need to say 'em especially if they can be mean like that comment.
For now just draw whatever makes you feel good. Trying to learn the basics can be tiring and make you lose interest. I've been getting back into drawing for a week and have just been drawing what I want and, when I'm interested in something midway through a drawing, I'll try to learn how to draw it properly. Hope this helps!
@@kazeshi3031 when I try to challenge myself, I eventually get burnt out. Honestly, I never thought that it would happen to me, and i was stuck for four days. (It may not seem like a lot but this was during the summer, and I made a challenge to draw everyday, so to not get my work in really tipped me off) and although challenging myself does help me improve, the best advice would be able to draw as much as possible and keep it unique.
The key is to avoid getting discouraged by other artists work. Think of “better designs” as motivating inspiration, not a slap in your face. I’ve heard FAR too many artists say “That’s better than mine” or “I’ll never be that good”. Don’t defeat yourself or treat it like a competition. If you love to draw, show your work the love it deserves and find ways to make it better. Quitting on your art only denies its potential.

@@T--wg7qc what have you been drawing to get back into it? Literally anything or you trying specific things like human faces and poses?
Mate, you might as well name the video "How much I love myself".

There’s always room for improvement no matter how good u are
Okay um...
U have hella concentration.
5hours at something is 😨 scary
I did no tell anyone to not use references mate
I deleted this commment so you'll be wondering how i got so many likes. :D

What if you are that Asian for your friends?
Wowww stereotypical
Exactly, I’m Asian and there’s always better ones out there 👏
This is me, except I'm going to pick it back up now.. and I'm older than you lol.
12:11 "so i re-drewed it in 2017"
My brain does stuff like this sometimes.
Like the other day my brain decided the past-tense of fit was fat.
That's actually kind of appropriate, but you know what I mean.

everyone does at times. Just keep grinding through the tough times. ill tell you guys a mindset you can have to always stay motivated in another video

Hello,
Very impressive progress, really I think you are tricking us, :)
I see this video was uploaded on 28th April, not in 1st of April!
I'm know people, with a lot of potential, but their art skills are pretty damn locked..
Those people for over 14 years are still making drawings with the same level or getting worse instead!
They didn't ever take any risk, only doing the same "manga-stylish" drawing confort zone
Did you train with Kaiō-sama under 10 times the gravity of Earth??
Your improved is the fastest thing I'd ever seen,
really is awesome!!!
¡Best regards!
Hi Lynx Lot:
Manga Style is not one Style, really there are several different ways to draw manga/japanese characters, Manga = Comic!
A training under correct conditions is the best way to improve the drawing in relative short time
Best!
+Lynx Lot:
Yep, I know people, as I mentioned before, with a lot of potential, but unfortunately their skills are trapped in their own confort zone.
I'm want to improve my drawing skills in that 10 times earth gravity zone! :)
Best!
WTH is this 10 times earth gravity zone?
Zumbi Voador Falante:
Is a joke about Kaio Sama's planet, with ten times earth's gravity is the ideal training ground. :)
Best!
I see. The first thing I thought was Vegeta training in the gravity simulator.
Thanks to you.. Because of this video i confidently push my self to practice drawing and to improve.

Take a shot everytime he says the word improve or improvement.

Keep trying to improve you are the best artist on youtube i love ur videos
Hi zhc can you make vid that helps us begginers with drawing
I re drew something from 5 months ago and you couldn’t even tell their by the same person 💀
Edit: I would show you guys but I don’t know how!😅
