- This custom build is THE DREAM! I finally pulled the trigger on a downhill mtb. For this build, I wanted it to be everything I wanted in/on a bike from the get go. So, here's my RAW Specialized Demo build! I also took it to closing weekend at Snowshoe for some first laps!

Larger rotors have better heat extraction on downhill descent, so not necessarily faster breaking you want smooth breaking when you are descending but you want heat extraction to prevent heat buildup ..so larger rotors basically just giving you larger surface area to disperse heat.

Hit up Snowshoe for the first time too this past weekend ... Lines were so looooong but we had a blast! The tech is insane though, warmed up on M & O and even they were pretty tough. Great park, will definitely be back again, but I think it was you who said they need an A Line.
Glad you had a blast! The lines are rarely ever more than a 3-5 minute wait which was a bummer on Saturday morning. Still a good time once they cleared up!
@@Blake_Cherubini saw me and my friend on the lift when you hit cupcake drop, lol ... enjoy your new bike, went to the bike park about 40x this season and thinking about buying a DH too.

Sweet bike for sure. Sherm you need to build me a downhill bike and one for yourself too. Also, are you running mullet on the Demo. I think when you have the geo set to short chain stay 27.5 or set up for 29'rs the 220mm rotor should just fit.
Yeah the rotor probably would have fit if I flipped it to the longer position but I wanted to try it short🤷♂️

What fluid did you use in your brakes and why?
Finish Line mineral oil because it’s all I had. I’d normally use Shimano brand and will probably bleed again with full shimano just for peace of mind lol

Just enough to see it sheen in the distance but struggle to tell that it actually has a color
