Pretty impressed with El Burro (La Granja 2.0). Spielworxx seems to be putting some faith in letting designers iterate on past designs until they evolve into their own thing. Worked for the Great Western Trail series. I kinda like the old school euro visuals but I also kinda wish Spielworxx would go in a different artistic direction.
It's been ages since I played Gentes, this reminded me how much I liked it, and will definitely need to play that again. Looking forward to the campaign of this one!
I am sticking to my copy of Gentes which suprisingly looks way better (more consistant in terms of graphic design). It will be interesting to see where this version will lead in terms of development of this game.
The game looks like an improvement of Gentes. But owning genes deluxe I have hard time justifying buying this game for slight variation. I wish the publishers had an upgrade pack deal. Also I wish there where more new content in the cards. There is a loot of untapped design space there. For example like the golden ages/ through the ages have goverment/wonder/technology/mines&farms. Also the chaining effect of bonus vp for previously played cards is little boring. It would be more fun if the abilities scaled rather than just straight more vp
I love you two, but I wish people played games that are available now and not games we have to wait two years to play. No one is doing play throughs of games that are actually available to buy right now.
I think this is for people that are considering investing money to produce their own copy, but yes, in the age of the internet, they have played those games too. A quick search and you can watch them play a game available now. Maybe a new series idea though, Rambling Revisits? I'm imagining a modular spinner where patreon backers pick two, BGR picks two each, and throw one completely random in there and they spin it and play.
It is staggering how little they care about the visuals. Like I am a big fan of many great beige Euros but come on man…like seriously. It’s time to at least arrive in 2012 in terms of art design. This is not even retro cool. It’s just functional and even lazy.
There's a subset of people that prefer the beige looks of old school euros and I swear to god they must be colour blind or just weirdos because it makes no sense to me.
