Never ever, ever just drop or even let the caliper hang from the brake line! Mechanic wire or even a brake caliper hanger will prevent ruining the brake line. And sandpaper is a much better way to remove glazing from brake pads.
It's important to use silicon grease at contact points(caliper pins, where pads contact the slides) especially between the pad and shim. You don't always want to machine the rotors.(as long as surface is not glazed/gouged or any pulsating due to run out) to preserve rotor thickness. A lot of the time the noise will be the result of the pad contacting the "rust line on the rotor". Sanding the pad probably eliminated the noise temporarily.
Brake pad glazing is when you press the brake pedal lightly and start braking 100m before you eventually need to stop. Just do 3 rounds of moderate braking from 100kmh to 30kmh And then 3 rounds of 80% braking from 70kmh to complete stop That's the manufacturer brake pad bedding procedure and the glazing will be gone
@@jesusiswithme247clr pads work on friction if you lube the pads their will be no friction and for they will slip and not stop the motion of the car so you will not brake to a stop
Zero lubrication anywhere. Apply thing coat to all touching points where pads sit in bracket then add thin coat of brake lube grease to the outer backs where they touch the caliper. Also if you s uff up rotors take pads out and lay on some 36-50 grit sand paper on flat surface and scuff the shine off the face then break them back in using normal braking . Don't do the jam the brakes hard to put some heat jn them as some people claim. Basically current pad tech, unless marked on boxes, are ceramic based.
This is exactly how maintenance and repairs are done in the rural areas of countries where top notch vehicle services are unavailable. They keep their cars and trucks running, and that's all that matters.
First off: DON'T THROW that caliper like that, unless you want to destroy that brake line. 2nd: Just use disc brake quiet compound between the brake shim and pad. You're about to cause a major brake problem to fix a simple one.
Lol this has to be a troll. I was with you the whole time, “you’re right, that pad is still good.. maybe a resurface but I’m thinking it’s caliper bolts-“ AND THEN WTF
People already said it before me, but ill say it again. My dude, when you let that break caliper just fall like that, thats a big no no! Infact there is companies that sell caliper hangers so you can hang them inside the wheel well because the lines are so delicate. Its no wonder they are squeaking. You treat the car like shit lol
I replaced my brakes not too long ago and Everytime I break, like literally 5 seconds before stopping and only when stoping literally 2-3 seconds brakes whistle. Like WTF? It quiet annoying because son says it doesn’t do it!
Just dropping the caliper like that oh no
i gasped out loud when he did that!
The brake line will snap one day
😂😂😂 fr
His brakes don't squeak anymore because the caliper doesnt work anymore.. next video is how to stop the car if brakes fail 😂
Hahaha exactly what I thought. No more working brakes means no more squeak. Job done.
😅😅😅
RIP to the break line.
I'd correct you and say "brake line" but in this case I think you're right 🤔
@@Deathgiver101 lmao 😂
@@Deathgiver101 🤣
If your just messing with the pad you don’t need to bleed your breaks
Maybe the reason it squeaks 😂
I was thinking this was a joke then realized this dude was being serious. 😂
"Resurfaced the brakes" 😂
Built in sharpening stone at home just for resurfacing brake pads! 🤣
😂
I almost had a heart attack watching. That caliper drop
Went rite to the comments once I saw that brake line get manhandled 😂
Mannn never hit the comments so fast!! 💨
I hit comments SO QUICK bro 😂😂
And the more comments (positive and negative) the more he's getting paid by You Tube 😂
😂😂 me too.
Lol all these comments felt the same way I did smh an old man who dips and chew on hey straw taught him
RIP THE BRAKE LINE OMG
Rest in peace bro 😭
@@TheVineyardChanneldon't you mean pieces?
Spraying brake fluid on the rotor from a broken brake hose will quiet them until the fire starts.

Mine are making sound too was going to use sandpapper
I legit jumped when he started scraping those perfect pads on the concrete
its perfectly fine to resurface them that way as long as the surface you are scraping on is as even as possible
@@LuisYerena oh yeah, the only issue is that wasn’t an even surface
@@braydonvg03 it's fine it was just a light scraping. A little texture is good

seems plausible
This video was meant to be a joke, right?
dude i hope so

you can deglaze your brakes by getting on them hard from a high speed. Heat them up. you dont need to take everything apart to do that.
Thank you I will try this
The brake line goes bye bye 💀

This dude really just dropped the caliper. Yeah, I would never let this man work on my car a day in my life.
now i’m going to have my driveway precision resurfaced so that i can use it to machine parts
All you need is some brake grease on those pads
I'm gonna try that

The fact that you can’t tell it’s a joke and you’re saying to use sand paper on them is wild
He must be playing a lot of GTA with that drop 😂
That's how you can definitely unfix the brake line 😅
Dropping the caliper made me cringe, but using concrete to resurface is crazy.
lol my lord there went the brake line!!
The way you tossed the caliper like its junk LMFAO!
my ass clenched as he dropped the caliper.
This is too funny😂😂😂😂
Just buy your pads at autozone and make sure you get lifetime warranty

Michael Bay is planning to make a movie about it, so maybe we’ll find out there

Droppin the caliper just like that and rubbin the brake pads on the floor just like that. Watta.
I was stunned when I saw the caliper fell 😭
Bro really said screw the caliper
Resurface is the rotor surface too isn’t it?? Yikes to the caliper drop.
What about it?
Bro just threw the caliper and my jaw dropped😂, gotta hang that caliper man
You’re supposed to swing the brake caliper. Pull on it tug it kick it. Try to stand on it. I mean you might as well.
How to fix brake squeak? 1) not to brake. 2) change your driving behavior. 3) destory vehicle braking component vibration.
Wish you recorded the sound it made. Trying to find out what’s going on with mine

Dude what in the lords name did that Caliper ever do to you?!
Wow letting the caliper drops like that really hurts

Don't do this, dropping the caliper and using the sidewalk. Sandpaper
Need a wheel alignment
Just wondering how many people followed this advice. I would start buy not removing my caliper like that. 😅
My heart stopped when he left go of the caliper 🥺🥺☠️🤯😵💫
What tools do you need to fix your brakes yourself?
Bro picked the roughest patch of concrete rofl
resurface the break pads?!?? letting the break hose fall like that ?!???
Did he just threw the thing?
That brake line tho.
That’s crazy you just scraped the pad on the ground and it works that easy mechanic will charge 100 of dollars just for this
Who tf drops the caliper like that ? Then has the balls to show it off to the world like it’s ok .
Just drop the caliper like that???
DO NOT DO WHAT THIS GUY JUST DID! ☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️☠️
The brake line has left the chat..
Jesus christ. What idiot does this to their caliper with that drop? Extremely unsafe... definitely not a licensed mechanic here.
I thought i was the only one who realise about the breakline 😂.
They meant resurface the rotor but hey if it works it works
On my 350z with relatively new brakes it was a small rock stuck inside one time that caused a grind
To anybody watching this who thinks this is a serious video:
NO! This is somebody's idea of a joke! Do NOT do this!
“Squidward eyes close” why you tossed your brake line like that🫡?
Damm those brake lines 🙏🏻😊
Omg! Please DO NOT EVER EVER EVER JUST DROP a Caliper or let it Hang from the line!! Use a hook or zip tie it up on the shock spring! Good lord
Damn bro the line
LOL this kids has some learning to do.
He de glazed the pads by doing that
Break pads always have the potential for containing asbestos. Making dust from your break pad is not a good idea.

Is this a paradoy video?
Lets get that caliper off... (Throws it down the driveway)

Single piston calipers can hang but if that was dual piston that line would’ve snapped lol
Can I take off bottom bolt only and swing it up?
@@johnlawful2272 Absolutely! You don't really need to remove the caliper unless you're changing rotors. If it's just pads, you just swing it up
