Half the time when your brakes make noise they are just dirty. Brake clean helps quiet them up. I spray my brakes with the brake cleaner once a month. And you don’t have to remove the wheel to do it find the calliper and spray in between the rotor and the calliper and for drum brakes in the back lay on the ground under your car spray it from behind the drum. Not only does this product work beautifully on its intended target -- i.e. brakes -- it also works AMAZINGLY on light scratches, abrasions and paint transfers from other cars or from scraping against parking structure walls/posts, etc. An Auto Zone employee used this on my white Toyota yesterday and, spraying it on a microfiber cloth and, rubbing the affected areas, within 5 minutes had COMPLETELY ELIMINATED every scratch, abrasion and paint-mark on my vehicle! Seeing is believing and that puppy looked BRAND NEW again! Seriously, it was like a damn MAGIC TRICK!
Omg. Brake cleaner on auto paint. It removed likely all of the clear coat in that area (paint protective layer). There’s a reason applying brake cleaner on someone’s car paint is often recommended as a highly illegal way to get revenge on someone.
Lol. Evan's a bid. "It almost completely gets rid of the problem, But it doesn't completely get rid of the problem" Forward or Backwards it still means the same thing. My Q7 brakes were brand new in a week were squealing like a 18 wheeler. Brake clean did help it immensely though.
I had squeaky brakes...I went to the car wash and selected the rim blaster option...and then I used this stuff....ZERO SQUEAKS whatsover.....I'm sure the dealership would have charged me 600$ to fix this.... UPDATE (1/18/2020) *** So after the brake cleaner spray, my car functioned well for 2 days and then after, my suspension system started acting funny....and it progressively got worse and SCARY...so I had to ran my car through the CARWASH selecting the under carriage rim blaster wash option (extra 3$) to get all the break cleaner spray stuff off....I went through the carwash 3 times to remove this stuff....so after that hurdle, I took my car to a brake specialist I found on craiglist....The problem wasn't with the brake pads, suspension or the rotors....the car was perfect....The problem turned out to be THE "TYPE" OF BRAKE PADS that were install on my car....turns out my car requires O.E.M brake pads....the shop that did my last brake job used regular brake pads from AutoZone...Autozone pads are good but they're just not the right fit for my car.....so I had to order O.E.M pads from the dealership...I got the dealership pads in less that 2 hours....the Craigslist guy installed the O.E.M pads and the squeaking disappeared....cost me less that 250$ to get the O.E.M pads and have him install them...which is still much cheaper than the dealership......the brake cleaner spray is just a temporary fix but in my case, it made the squeaking worse by day 3......so yeah....If you have squeaks, try dealership O.E.M brake pads....those generic brakes pads from Autozone/Oriellys are not a good fit.....You need pads that were specifically designed for your car FROM THE CAR MANUFACTURER....not that duralast stuff from Autozone.
@@gLocksmith. Lol....why? I'm just sharing my experience....Some cars function better with O.E.M pads....I'm sure you can put some Autozone pads on a Porsche but after a month or 2, those pads MIGHT acting up... DEPENDS ON THE TYPE/BRAND OF CAR have....depends....Even a wheel alignment being off can cause squeak-like noises....it could be anything....In my case, it was the brake pads....the old brake pads just wasn't a good fit for my car....

Old school!
It also eliminated some of your clearcoat and a layer of paint...
RIP to your clear coat.
Omg. Brake cleaner on auto paint. It removed likely all of the clear coat in that area (paint protective layer). There’s a reason applying brake cleaner on someone’s car paint is often recommended as a highly illegal way to get revenge on someone.
Can I spray the drum with out removing the tire???
Do this somewhere you don’t mind getting stains on the asphalt
My car make noise when I make a stop sign. Hopefully this work..
UPDATE (1/18/2020) ***
So after the brake cleaner spray, my car functioned well for 2 days and then after, my suspension system started acting funny....and it progressively got worse and SCARY...so I had to ran my car through the CARWASH selecting the under carriage rim blaster wash option (extra 3$) to get all the break cleaner spray stuff off....I went through the carwash 3 times to remove this stuff....so after that hurdle, I took my car to a brake specialist I found on craiglist....The problem wasn't with the brake pads, suspension or the rotors....the car was perfect....The problem turned out to be THE "TYPE" OF BRAKE PADS that were install on my car....turns out my car requires O.E.M brake pads....the shop that did my last brake job used regular brake pads from AutoZone...Autozone pads are good but they're just not the right fit for my car.....so I had to order O.E.M pads from the dealership...I got the dealership pads in less that 2 hours....the Craigslist guy installed the O.E.M pads and the squeaking disappeared....cost me less that 250$ to get the O.E.M pads and have him install them...which is still much cheaper than the dealership......the brake cleaner spray is just a temporary fix but in my case, it made the squeaking worse by day 3......so yeah....If you have squeaks, try dealership O.E.M brake pads....those generic brakes pads from Autozone/Oriellys are not a good fit.....You need pads that were specifically designed for your car FROM THE CAR MANUFACTURER....not that duralast stuff from Autozone.
This is the most ignorant comment on this video lol 🤣🤣🤣
@@gLocksmith.
Lol....why? I'm just sharing my experience....Some cars function better with O.E.M pads....I'm sure you can put some Autozone pads on a Porsche but after a month or 2, those pads MIGHT acting up... DEPENDS ON THE TYPE/BRAND OF CAR have....depends....Even a wheel alignment being off can cause squeak-like noises....it could be anything....In my case, it was the brake pads....the old brake pads just wasn't a good fit for my car....
@@gLocksmith. Lol smh....can you explain how exactly is the comment ignorant??? Sharing your personal experience doesn't make you ignorant....it's educational and can benefit others!!!
*FYI I had the exact same problem.
Do i need to washing up after put the spry or leave to try?😢
I used a Valvoline brake cleaner and the squeaking is gone ....
Thank you 😊
Valvoline actually cares about their products. I use no one else.
@@DvineWakandandian_Warrior I knew a guy who worked at a valvoline and admitted that they upcharge people all the time, so I dunno about them anymore.
@@alondra.chicken2 I think it’s fair tbh. I just don’t go if I don’t have $100 at the moment 😅. I worked there and we literally make sure all fluids are topped off, air pumped in your tires, battery check, & head/tail light check. (Some don’t do any of that though smh so always ask them if you feel like they lying). We are also supposed to get you out within 15 minutes fr fr, so it’s not a bad service to pay for. Someone like old ladies, elderly partial disabled, young independent adult venturing in their own, ignorant housewife to cars, etc. my car actually needed a brake flush after I bought the product. It worked for a week. So if anyone has brakes making a crunchy noise I probably need a brake flush. Do that first and only spend $100. Have a nice day!
I tried it but I couldn’t wipe it off the brakes because I need to takeoff the hole cap do you think it’s OK if I don’t wipe it
Yeah, I bought can of the CRC brake cleaner once - unbeknownst to me - the spray nozzle was broken; aimed it directly at the rotor to clean and it shot out backwards and got me right in the eye. Ouch. Blurry vision and eye pain followed for 2 hours. CRC always seems to give me bad cans and/or defective/missing straws.
Thanks for the heads up. I happen to find an can of CRC brake cleaner in my garage Im about to use.
Where the heck do you live where everyone has a perfect front lawn?
I have a 2011 Honda CR-Z hybrid and I used this today and let it dry and my car sounds worst than before. it’s no longer squeaking but it makes this very loud sound when I press my brakes, and I’m wondering if I did something wrong? ☹️
Hi. Maybe 🤔
have the pads inspected or replaced.
Amazon does have good brake kits
To upgrade the brakes pads and rotors. If it hasn’t been done, then that’s maybe good time to invest.
Good luck fellow Artist.
You broke it.
I had to get my rotors shaven down, at least that’s what the guy at the dealership said.
@@anthonygutierrez4546 thanks for the help!! 🙏🏽
