I think the strangest thing about all these covers is how much you can actually understand the lyrics

It's all a matter of technique. The PMJ employs legit vocalists who are trained in singing.
In pop music it's more like grab someone off the street and put them in front of the mic. These are usually not trained vocalists. Lotta glam and flash.
I like how her voice sounded like Shakira's when she sings "hey baby when you talk like that". I like this version a lot.
She's spoken Spanish in a few other songs too, and I'm fairly certain she took her inspiration for how to speak Spanish from Shakira.

What I love about the covers is how the artists respect the original songs. They highlight the song and give a super cover without making it all about themselves, and still make wonder. Mad respect

Hey, long time listener, first time commenter. This is going to sound weird, but my favorite thing about you is that you never swallow your saliva mid-song, even during instrumental breaks you're holding it in your mouth, sometimes repositioning it. I like it so much because of the way your saliva affects your pronunciation near the end of every song, gives it a kind of sensual and rich texture to every word and adds to the emotional impact. It's like you know how to use your saliva as a tool to enhance your vocal abilities rather than it being a hindrance. I don't know how you do it but it's a skill you should teach other singers. You're the only singer I know of who does this and I think that's really awesome.
Shakira is awesome, but I really love this arrangement, and the performance is fantastic.
