James I think it would a good idea to make a video on how to fix potential problems with boilers in the weather we have been having, Frozen condense pipes etc. It could help a lot of people out! 👍
I have old wood fueled central heating system with radiators. My system sends out water with temps up to 100celsius. Can I use plastic piping and build it myself?
How hard is it for me to install my own pvc in a house, ready for a combi boiler to be installed? There's no central heating in a house I've just bought. So I'm thinking of installing my own radiators and pipework ( pvc ) ready for a plumber to install central heating.... Good idea or bad?
I renovating my kitchen and moving one of the radiator to another wall .iv pulled all the plaster off the ceiling and chased the pipes back to the bedroom above and one on the landing .my question is the right pipe on the kitchen radiator goes to the left side of the bedroom and landing radiator. Don't they all have to be on the same side ??
Hi James. Question from a recently new starter in the trade. I think I saw it in this video but, can you fit the valves to the radiator, and then sit the valves on the pipe work? Or must you fit the valves to the pipe work and then to the radiator? Probably a silly question but I want to check what I’ve been taught. Cheers.
Top tip get a roll of lining paper (wall paper roll size) and blue tape a piece in the area of interest then you can scribble away to your hearts content, make mistakes whatever. Drill yer oles and remove paper - jobs a good un 😉
I have a combi boiler and was planning on putting five (small) radiators on one loop of 15mm pipe. You say 3 max, what is the solution? 2 loops and then the connect at the boiler? (I'll be getting my plumber to connect, I just want to run the pipework whilst I have the ceiling down). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Great channel BTW, I use it a lot!
Hi James, what brands of radiators are best for performance and most efficient? Are aluminium radiators worth the investment cost over steel radiators. Thanks.
James, where can you get those little packing pieces that go on radiator brackets? You know the ones that always drop off when you remove the rad and then disappear down between the floorboards.
Thx James. Soz to hear about the van, matey 😔. Do you ever use self bleed valves? I've found tall towel rads are subject to air so I've started fitting them.
James mate.. this is really useful should I keep mine as far away from my vanity unit as poss? worried about the heat affecting the MDF! Keep doing the vids.. GREAT!!
Great demo for kids who are learning such an amazing trade at college but when you’re on a price on site it wouldn’t take you 10-15minutes to hang a rad should take you max 5 minutes per rad
Are aluminium radiators worth the additional expense? We had a duetec boiler put in 6/7 years ago but radiators never replaced, they seem to be coming to the end of the life! Not sure what to do?
Dan Jones to be honest Dan we use them loads and they're really only worth it with heatpumps. They're a decent rad but at twice the price of a standard one its hard to justify the cost to the owners. Hope that helps
JK - I’m not sure if the cost has started to come down or gone up on Aluminium rads? I’m just wondering if they are worth the additional cost and would we see this money come back? It appears normal rads like Barlo are not that cheap for the BTU I need to achieve for each room.
Wot!? No vid on frozen condensate discharge pipes? Given the weather thought you'd be on the case. Beat ya to it. Ha! Got back from work at 9.30 pm ... on a Satdy. Poo! Wedding ring on.... Health n safety James! You'l never pull wearing that! Ultimate Handyman would be rolling his eyes.... and dropping his "h's". Sweet, as per u, bro.
I cant believe you don't have a standard height for radiators from the floor?! What! No offense but that towel rail was far to high off the ground! It should have been flush as possible to the finished floor.
Dont buy Kudox. I bought 5 Kudox radiators from Screwfix for a new central heating install in my house 4 years ago; these radiators have a 15 year guarantee. One of the radiators has started rusting from the outside at the bottom rim. I applied to Kudox for a replacement but they just said it was my fault, that I had damaged it on install which is total bs. So the guarantee is worthless. Don't buy Kudox folks.
Well usually the skirting board is in the way stopping you going right to the floor anyway, which is ample space for convection. You also don't want to burn your carpet or warp your laminate flooring so I guessed that having some sort of gap went without saying.

Hi james. Can you do a video on how to fit plumb an extra radiator into an existing system please. Cheers mate

What do you think about push fits for Central heating? Thanks
Not the first time the VW Transporter has let you down!!, Transit all the way, working man's weapon of choice, no contest.

Hi James can you do a video showing how to bring radiator pipes out of wall instead of coming from floor
I always PTFE the bleed valve and plug as I've been out countless times to rads weeping from the perished rubber seal.
Thanks for watching guys...still uploading today!

Why do u hung radiator under window?
Have u use plastic pipes instead if copper before?
Very good tips and funny geezer keep up the good work
sorry to hear about van trouble, but it may "only" be a busted CV joint mate and much easier/cheaper to replace.
Have you tried multi-layer piping
Can you do a video showing how to put the radiator stalks into the wall and connecting them up.
No chrome pipe on the towel rail?
Top tip get a roll of lining paper (wall paper roll size) and blue tape a piece in the area of interest then you can scribble away to your hearts content, make mistakes whatever. Drill yer oles and remove paper - jobs a good un 😉
Thats a brilliant idea - especially for a DIYer like me, cheers.
It`s a top tip but be careful what tape you use as you can quite easily peel paint off the wall or rip wallpaper.
Great video James
Great video James 👍
james how mutch does a plumber charge for fitting a radiator

3 rads on a 15mm carcass. Whata all that about? I've just added 2x rads to a 10mm carcass and 1 rads half cold. I was thinking airlock but now I'm 🤔
One thing worth mentioning, choose appropriate wall plugs for type of wall....
How do you bridge the gap when the the heated towel rail is slightly too narrow to fit into copper pipes from the floor?
Why not use chromed pipes as the stand pipes?
James i have a worcestor bosch 28 i and were the syphon pushes on at the top ot seems to have a small drip anything i can do to resolve ? Cheers
James, where can you get those little packing pieces that go on radiator brackets? You know the ones that always drop off when you remove the rad and then disappear down between the floorboards.
Good video as usual. Do you a video about hanging a replacement rad to existing pipes protruding from floor.
Good work, but ... copper tails on your chrome towel rail ?
Pete Ellacott True, but you can get chrome covers that clip over the pipes...
Aman A them chorme covers are useless
got covers bit crappy. Better if you fit correct chrome pipes its worth the effort
Thx James. Soz to hear about the van, matey 😔. Do you ever use self bleed valves? I've found tall towel rads are subject to air so I've started fitting them.

Mate my bathroom radiator measures 649mm wide,i cant seem to get another to the measurement, any ideas.
What’s the best app for working out btu
Great demo for kids who are learning such an amazing trade at college but when you’re on a price on site it wouldn’t take you 10-15minutes to hang a rad should take you max 5 minutes per rad
Ah sure arent u just better than everyone else, gobshite

Don't forget to check joist positions before deciding where to put the radiator. You won't want a pipe through a joist!
My wife wants to know why I can't work as fast as you! Perhaps I shouldn't have let her watch you!
I've got to hang 2000mm X 600mm radiator. I won't be doing a video on that either, but will be cursing.
Anyone know how to fix a E8 fan fault on a boiler ?
bradley chadburn replace the fan?
The crystal balls of the heating engineers are not picking up the make of your boiler. You teaser.
IPfrequently ?
240/2= 12 haha 😂
mate i dont give a flying fuck i will not settle for anything anyone says about radiators until i have heard it from you. Fuckin radiators yeah boi
I all ways do 100mm of the floor to bottom of rad
Do u live near Cambridge?
Measure the distance between those two....
Wtf what fittings and what tool holy bajesus
Buteline geezer!
plumberparts sound geeza
240 / 2 = 12. James isn't wrong, maths is wrong.
Nice Mc at the beginning! I don't think I've ever heard such an annoying sound!
I cant believe you don't have a standard height for radiators from the floor?! What! No offense but that towel rail was far to high off the ground! It should have been flush as possible to the finished floor.
Loving Lucia!
Why don't they make a bloody template for this radiator??
Prego 😂

I’m 13 Yh I really want to be a plumber 😂😁 good money innit
It's best to have the rad as low as possible, as heat rises.
Just my 2 cents
ArcanePath360 you need a gap at the bottom for convection

...all over that side
I'm going to seek advise from another source
