    James I think it would a good idea to make a video on how to fix potential problems with boilers in the weather we have been having, Frozen condense pipes etc. It could help a lot of people out! 👍

    I have a combi boiler and was planning on putting five (small) radiators on one loop of 15mm pipe. You say 3 max, what is the solution? 2 loops and then the connect at the boiler? (I'll be getting my plumber to connect, I just want to run the pipework whilst I have the ceiling down). Any help would be greatly appreciated. Great channel BTW, I use it a lot!

Don't they all have to be on the same side ??

    Top tip get a roll of lining paper (wall paper roll size) and blue tape a piece in the area of interest then you can scribble away to your hearts content, make mistakes whatever. Drill yer oles and remove paper - jobs a good un 😉

      Hi James. Question from a recently new starter in the trade. I think I saw it in this video but, can you fit the valves to the radiator, and then sit the valves on the pipe work? Or must you fit the valves to the pipe work and then to the radiator? Probably a silly question but I want to check what I’ve been taught. Cheers.

  • @kickpublishing

    Did the BTU calcs for a big open plan space I have and I need 23,000. I can make that up with 4 rads but I'm wondering if a large room like mine (15m x 5m) would benefit from some form of fan to disperse the air around it. Do they make anything that works off the hot water but incorporates a fan? Or am I being concerned over nothing. Was going to do underfloor but its been vetoed. Did have 2 rads before but the room was derelict previously and I am guessing it was never warm like that.
    Not sure I'd need a radiator if I lived at Lucia's :-)

    • @normanboyes4983
      @normanboyes4983 6 лет назад

      The President of The Internet This is the one I fitted - www.plumbnation.co.uk/site/myson-kickspace-500-hydronic-plinth-heater/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI3tr9yebQ2QIVCrXtCh1TAw4gEAQYASABEgLfpfD_BwE -although designed for a kitchen unit it would not be to difficult to incorporate into other units like a Welsh dresser or buffer sideboard. Our room is 6m x 8m and I fitted the myson at one end and two small doubles at other end. Calculated the requirement (BTU/Kw) using one of the online calculators. The Myson allowed me to use much smaller rads than the architect suggested and the fan circulates the heat in the room much better than relying on traditional convection and makes the room feel comfortable much more quickly. Cheaper units are available - I stuck with Myson as it was small beer price wise compared to the £50K extension 😳and remodel.You may benefit from more than one in a room of your size.

    Are aluminium radiators worth the additional expense? We had a duetec boiler put in 6/7 years ago but radiators never replaced, they seem to be coming to the end of the life! Not sure what to do?

    • @JamJamJam94
      @JamJamJam94 6 лет назад

      Dan Jones to be honest Dan we use them loads and they're really only worth it with heatpumps. They're a decent rad but at twice the price of a standard one its hard to justify the cost to the owners. Hope that helps

    • @danjones2567
      @danjones2567 6 лет назад

      JK - I’m not sure if the cost has started to come down or gone up on Aluminium rads? I’m just wondering if they are worth the additional cost and would we see this money come back? It appears normal rads like Barlo are not that cheap for the BTU I need to achieve for each room.

    Dont buy Kudox. I bought 5 Kudox radiators from Screwfix for a new central heating install in my house 4 years ago; these radiators have a 15 year guarantee. One of the radiators has started rusting from the outside at the bottom rim. I applied to Kudox for a replacement but they just said it was my fault, that I had damaged it on install which is total bs. So the guarantee is worthless. Don't buy Kudox folks.

    • @shredder9536
      @shredder9536 6 лет назад

      ArcanePath360 you need a gap at the bottom for convection

    • @ArcanePath360
      @ArcanePath360 6 лет назад +1

      Well usually the skirting board is in the way stopping you going right to the floor anyway, which is ample space for convection. You also don't want to burn your carpet or warp your laminate flooring so I guessed that having some sort of gap went without saying.
