  • Find out how to get more flowers on bromeliad plants. This video shows how the mother bromeliad produces pups, which are baby plants that can be removed from the mother plant, and after grown for a few months, will produce their own flowers. Bromeliads only bloom once, but you can get more flowers from pups. The pups eventually become mother plants, and the process continues. This video shows you how to remove and pot up the bromeliad pups.

    Hi Julie, great video and just in time! I'm always sad when a plant Mom dies and, so my Mom completely died back leaving four pups, 2 that are 3 inches and 2 that are about 2inches! I'm trying to leave them attached to the base of the Mom because all her leaves came off!! Hope they make it!!

      Aida F., Thanks, and I'm glad the video was just in time. I think you can save the plant Mom's babies. The rooting hormone can help with that. Let me know how it goes.

    I have a question! I have baby bell pepper sprouts growing in a tiny jar. I want to go ahead and move them into a bigger pot, but the dirt won’t come out and I’m nervous about tearing the sprouts. Do you have any advice?

    • @HealthyHouseplants
      @HealthyHouseplants  2 года назад +1

      Sushi Cat, Submerge the little jar in a bigger jar/glass of water and soak the entire contents. It will probably start to come loose. Then if it's still not coming out easily, slide something small and bendable along the inside edge, like one of those plastic toothpicks. If you are careful and take your time, it will come out eventually without being harmed.

    I removed the pup and repotted it and it has remain the same. I also repotted the mother plant and have two new pups coming. Why isn't my 1st pup growing? How long does it take?

      Tomiko A Barrett-Bottley, How long ago did you repot the pups? It can take a few months for them to flower. That's great you have more pups coming!

      @@HealthyHouseplants I repotted it at least 3 months ago. It still looks the same.
