Sorry about the Babymetal logo over the video and sorry about the shameless plug of my crappy gaming channel. If you don't ask you don't get, anyway hope you enjoy!
I don't do gaming. Having said that, your BABYMETAL reactions are so awesome, that your gaming channel earned a subscriber in support of my fellow🦊. 🦊 🖖❤
Great reaction, thanks! Yes, the BABYMETAL experience includes the whole package: music, choreo, Kami Band, light show, etc. You go to see a show, not just a concert, even in smaller venues. As you found out, this is from Legend-MM, two shows held at the Yokohama Arena in early March 2024 to celebrate Momometal's 21st birthday. They had a lot of fun during these shows, including a lot of cute interactions (way more than usual on big scale shows that go on Blu-rays). I was lucky enough to attend both shows and it was my favorite concert experience ever. And not only because of the shows themselves but also because it was my very first time in Japan and specially, thanks to the amazing people I met in the process. About the song itself, "Metali" (metari) is the combination of "metaru" (metal) and "matsuri" (traditional Japanese summer festival). So it's a "matsuri" influenced song and it's all about hyping the crowd and inviting them to dance and sing along. Musically, it's very groovy and funky. I love Su's clean yet aggressive vocals here. Really cool collaboration with Tom Morello who commented this: "I am a big fan of BABYMETAL, a band that is both power rocking and constantly surprising with dizzying musical twists and turns. I've been trying to work with them for some time and when they sent me the demo of 'Metali!!' I knew I could rock that shit like crazy!". This was their first song as the "new" BABYMETAL, Including Momometal. And I'm very happy for her. It's so cool she got that kabuki style interlude. 🤘🦊
Johnny-Metal, I just love your enthusiasm when it comes to Babymetal. I was lucky enough to be at both shows in Yokohama and it was just indescribably wonderful. Stay healthy and stay metal. Greetings from Germany. Forever THE ONE 🤘🦊🤘
@@JohnnyReacts1momo did you 2 songs at this 2 day concert, legend-mm refers to her 20th year. The first day had momo-banger, and the second day had her sing the beginning of meta taro. So my guess she needs a bit of care of her voice, so the pre recording.
If air lived in Japan I'd be trying to get to every concert, they are so good live. Their studio stuff is 10/10, and the live performances easily surpass that 😎 Their success is also due to the amazing quality of the Kami band, the songwriting, the lighting and sound engineers, costume design, choreography. Everything about Babymetal is top notch.
Babymetal is unique in many ways, like you said, they are so at home on stage. That was already the case when they were even still kids. The way I always explain it: when Babymetal performs, the stage becomes their home and we are the guests. That is how much they look at home on the stage. In part it most be because for example Su-metal started in entertainment at age 3. The other is also just hard work, in 1 interview they said: we train a song until it becomes automatic and then we train some more so we can control it what we want to do (like variations, etc.) Sadly I think the whole part by Momometal is recorded, but give her time, she'll start doing more if they have that ambition. Yes, Babymetal is the whole package, the song writers are also have a LOT of fun making Babymetal songs, you can find funny bits sprinkled all over the place.
One of the best versions of Metali the whole of Legend MM was a great show full of great performances. yes, the music behind BabyMetal is great and is essential in their success but without BabyMetal, it would not have enjoyed the success it's had it would be just great music if you get what I mean . 🤔😁🤘🏼🦊🤘🏼
Nice reaction! The show is at the Yokohama arena, and this Kami Band is the American musicians. The last show of the Japanese members of the Kami Band was at BABYMETAL Returns in early 2023 at Makuhari Messe.
Excellent reaction.🦊 I love your enthusiasm for BABYMETAL, you seem to echo my own thoughts and feelings, so I don't think I need to add anything to what you said and to all the extra info you have been provided in the comments below. This song, the Legend MM concerts, everything they do - just so good and so much fun. I will get my turn to see them at the O2 in May - can't wait!🤘
Great reaction as always Mr. Johnny! I finally had the pleasure of witnessing this live a few weeks back in the US. You are lucky to have seen this at FOX_FEST!! And you’re right, Moa’s smile eats souls, and her dimples sink ships. Momo’s growl will be the finisher 😂. And yeah, we all got down as commanded, then the whole place exploded. It was epic! 🤘🦊
Nice reaction as always. As you say they always look to be having so much fun on stage which is infectious. And yes Moa's smile is a gift from whichever deity you follow. You should watch the official MV for this as it's bonkers. You may have seen it drop, reactions flooded my feed, but their latest collaboration just released. This time with Bloodywood. Official MV is on the Bloodywood channel here if you want to check it out (my original post had the link but RUclips blocked it)
Good reaction and I’m jealous you got to see BM perform in Japan. I’m sure I read an interview with Su admitting that it was Momo doing the Kabuki part but she did struggle with it to make it so good. I dare say that that part and the scream are in fact Momo but not performed live. It has looked mimed when they’ve performed it at festivals. Such a fun song though and one that really gets the crowd going.
Great reaction! You got their "formula" quite right 😁 They don´t half-ass any of their performances, and they always try (and succeed!) to make you smile. It´s Kawaii Metal after all 😉 The music, composing, playing, and performing of the songs is so well done, that you can´t help but admire what´s happening on the stage. Not to forget their huge arena shows, where they often put a bit of awesomeness into the show. You should react to - Headbanger (Momoko ver.) (Legend MM 2024 Live) Eng Subs to get some load of this awesomeness😁
Since the PIA Arena shows in April 2023 they only have the Western Kamis even for shows in Japan. It's understandable since they have been constantly touring the whole 2023 and 2024. Nobody knows if the Eastern Kamis will return some day or even if the current lineup of the Kamis will be permanent because they all have their own bands. They already had to switch out the bass player, in 2023 and the 2024 festival season they were alternating between Clint Tustin (who has been with them since 2019) and Ryan Neff, since October 2024 they have Matt Deis.
I agree, their evident joy is infectious and their effort demands our fullest attention. Interestingly, I’ve seen a few photos of Moa with her friends, out of costume and character, and her smile with friends/offstage is quite different. So I know her onstage joy is different from her offstage persona. Nonetheless, I consider their efforts for us in the audience to be deeply genuine.
Moa has been a naughty girl this year, literally, pranking Su every chance she had, joking and behaiving silly out of the scrypt. A very good year for them!
Nice. They are a lot more relaxed in their roles and perhaps have gotten more freedom to express themselves on stage. It could be because the management has seen the reaction from fans when they joke around and has capitalised on it.
I've only managed to get low at the two solo shows in Brazil and Chile, Knotfest was impossible.🥵 But i would love to try it again next year with more BM live shows around my country or even better, a solo show.🥰🤘🦊🔥
There's only 1 Kami band. The Western band. It's been the only band for years. I really wish people would stop labeling the band. It's just the Kami band.

Both the kabuki part and the "Are you ready?" scream are Momoko. They're just backing track, recorded in the studio, not live.
Thanks for the info and comment!

Yes, I loved it, really good song, well performed by the girls and the band.
Koba had all three members record that part in the studio.
Momoko's version was the best, so they went with it.

Please check out their new collab with bloodywood! The song is called "Bekhauf" meaning fearless. And let me tell you, it is absolutely amazing!
At the end you talked about makeup and hair. In this show there are some moments where Su's ponytail is all messy, tangled in the hair clip. 🤣🤣

Kami Band (US) is almost Galaxy Empire. ;)
