If you're worried about pressure in the barrel, you need a simple airlock. Unless that cap is a very loose fit, it can easily get stuck, and a with barrels that size, it doesn't take that much pressure to make them burst.
Someone learned their lesson and dumped the shock in without the lid on... put a bulkhead fitting on the bottom side of your leaching barrel. To much risk trying to dump the barrel into the filter. A $20 part will save spills, lost money and your health.
Hey man I cut a lot of hardened steel in industrial settings and what I've found is the best blades for my grinders are Bluefire from Norton Abrasives by far. They're also cheaper than the rest I've used over the years. Haven't broken a single one yet either *knock on steel* As an example, cutting 1" hardened steel bolts out of concrete factory floors. I had to cut 60 of them on a task and my DeWalts lasted about 2 bolts each. After eating 4 of them I ordered Bluefires and used a single disc to cut the rest out, cut every job for the next month, and the disc is still good, only missing about half an inch.
I think you should use distilled water and flush your sludge a few more times . You're wasting a lot of metals there . Other than that I love your process .
Do u think the coating on one side.of that store foil will do something unexpected maybe why it won't clear up? Maybe next time try to find the kind without the coating
Aluminum foil doesn't have a coating - one side is shiny because it is rolled out two sheets at a time, with the outsides staying shiny and the insides that touch the other sheet of aluminum getting dull. That said, aluminum can cause solutions to be difficult to filter if the pH or concentration is too high, causing aluminate gels to form.
how are you friend you have a lot of experience in extracting gold and precious metals i also want to learn something from you. i want to know if it only palladium is nitric acid (HN03) in Dissolution or not
I grew up working in junkyards and when I was we used to hollow out Catalytic converters with a long screwdriver and a hammer. Nowadays I see people spending so much time cutting them open? I can clear one out completely in a minute or so. Is there a reason I don't know about why you spend so much time cutting them open? Just curious is all. I enjoy your videos thanks
Your t-shirts crack me up, no1 crazy backyard scientist!
Thanks 👍
Using thicker aluminum will make your PGMs fall in larger clumps. Making settling and separating it 100xs easier
Awesome. Thanks for the advice!
Always keep your material damp as the majority of your valuable materials are light and will float away
Love the safety sandals
You might be able to dissolve away the magnetic metal substrate with sulfuric acid, and leave the PGMs behind to filter out.
I would appreciate it if you write the name on the bag what you put in this barrel, thank you
The adding of the acid after the aluminum only dissolves your PGMs again, it doesn't create or drop more PGMs
Nice video sir next part

Is the extracted platinum jewelry grade or is more processing required?
Siphon trick was nice

Does it matter if it's a rubber or metal barrel?
@@DoWutNow hell yes, metal will dissolve.
How much calcium hypochlite do you use through the process ? And how many times you feed into the barrel, every day ?
Thank you
I only did it twice in the whole 2 months. Only about a quarter of the bag 👍

Very cool!!! Great video!!! Thank you 😊 door noob insides are made zinc you can find it everywhere in your travels for the next time

Yes, nitric acid will dissolve palladium (and even some platinum depending on the alloy composition).
Nice vid
What is the name of powered to be added.
Hello, is it convenient to do that, do I make a profit? I'm from Argentina
Do u get paid more if u refine the converters yourself
No. I just like getting out the platinum 👍

Big long masonry drill bit and buzz it out. Makes a hell of a mess though.
Diamond blade chop saw to cut. Refineries use pneumatics, but that's above our paygrade😅
