I was fitted for the M2 2016 and Im 100% sure there is not gonna come out a new driver this year that will give me better numbers. The drivers has reached the limit. Might be a new driver that feels better but it will not give me better numbers. I know that I sound boring now, but the rules hasnt changed.
Seen the TXG guys review of these two and they seem really impressed with the sim and sim max there was clearly an upgrade in the two new driver but it’s never going to be massive. Just like tadmans review on the new cobra driver that was literally the same as the F9 it even had less ball speed 🤦♂️
Other reviewers are seeing the same slight jump in distance over the M5/M6 but seeing similar distance as the M2. Remember, the M5/M6 usually tested shorter than the M2 when they came out (but had Twist Face). So, how would you compare these to the M2?
Thanks, Neil that was a very balanced and fair review. Responsible Reviewers (such as yourselves) need to be honest with their viewers and tell them that because of the performance limitations imposed by the USGA and R&A none of the Drivers released in 2020 will show any significant improvement on their current models. Which brings me on to my main point, which is that the USGA and R&A should be pressurised into relaxing their performance limits for all Golfers other than Professionals and Cat 1 Golfers. The current situation IMHO is untenable in the medium to long term and is in danger of ruining the Golfing industry.
@@derekwhyle1884 Wow, that's what I call a time-lapse lol If you rewatch the video it was comparing the then-new SIM drivers with the previous M5 & M6 models my comments were relative to owners of the previous models contemplating changing to the new models. Obviously, if someone had a 10-year-old driver there is a strong chance that the new model would be a potential upgrade.
WOWWWW!!! I Remember gluing a penny🥉 on the back of my Driver to give it more Center gravity the Year was 1998!!!! Now all The Driver Adding the Extra weight of Center gravity!!!!!

I think that Rick was being disingenuous in his Review. Rick knows full well that manufacturers are unable to make major gains in the performance of their Drivers because of the R&A and USGA performance limits. The fact is that none of the drivers released in 2020 will have any significant gains in distance, any improvements will be marginal and Rick knows that.
Great review mate! I'm currently gaming a M2, so I'm waiting on the price drop on the M6 as the performance seem to be almost the same. Great looks on the SIM though.
Im not sold on twist face, it messes with my set up view but prefer the slimmer silver outline over the thick white on the M2. Mini looks the best being black imho..
Always a skeptic when it comes to TM, marketing anda new product to sell every 5 minutes, one would think that so many components used before they should be cheaper!
You guys saying that TM changes this and garbage that, don’t understand the concept of product development and strategic marketing. The driver is great and has characteristics of other companies , but these companies only can max it out which they’ve done, so eventually equipment can look of 2 different makers
Yes a few years older than a 2019 driver, probably 5. Other than that you are wasting your money. Cheesy copy of the R9 and typical TM marketing. Not saying it doesn’t perform; it’s just not better, period.
January 3rd 2019 carry distance M4 ..291yards , carry distance M6 ..291 yards.........please stop the manufacturers marketing bullshit you are obviously played for !!!
Another terrific review. Absolutely love your reviews. I may have missed it but will you. Be doing a best of 2019 series?
Neil,
Loved the way you presented the stats comparisons. Very helpful.
I use the sldr and like it a lot I would love to try the SIM

How do i feel like im swinging so much harder and my club speed is 95 vs your 115, i got to work on my technique
The should have just called in the TaylorMade Speedback.
Good one
Nah
Thanks for the good review
Would that shaft be suitable for a swing speed of 96-100 mph handicap of 6.
Thank you in advance. Age senior!
Stiff rather than x stiff I would have thought but for the $$ try them all...
I'd like to see you compare this to the Cobra Speed Zone driver. Can there really be much difference in the two, except in the price?

Yep, I did something similar but with lead tape, but in doing that you are improving the MOI, the effect on the CoG is/was only marginal.
Rick Shiels just tested them and distance and ball speed are the same as old ones.... So there!!
Rick Shiels testing and opinion are suspect ... Known Taylormade hater ... So There
Elaborate

love your reviews as always...… pleases could you re/do this using the same shafts and hit more shots.... I would bet theres no difference whatsoever.
Thanks Andy - we did use the same shaft in the test
Perhaps he meant same head lol

M6 went on sale at Dicks 3 days ago. 249.99.

Agree with Brenton! Still too expensive and no performance increase. Should have called it the TaylorMade F9...?
A total Gary distance 9.22
If u get the strike better I bet u can get easily above 170mph in ball speea

Different name, different looks. Same performance as M5/M6. I'm hoping the price will drop a little.
Paul Kenney ... It will...
When they release the SIM Mk2 in 6 months🤣🤣
@@MC-nb6jx I was talking about the M5/M6
Paul Kenney .... Hi Paul, they’ll drop even further 😁😁
still priced to high even with all the tec .
Adey Yemm .... Made for pennies in 2/3 different countries, then assembled somewhere else🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
SIM = Simpletons😉😉
Look like a Cobra. I will stick with my Cobra
Josephine Campbell cobra outperform it by a lot too
Why do all golf instructors have an accent 🤦🏻♂️ and I mean all of them
I thought that TM said, that M5 and M6 were there absolutely longest and most forgiving drivers ever...
More TM infact, golf industry BS customers...
