I love Ian’s attitude about club fitting. He doesn’t seem jealous or trying to rush to his turn. He seems genuinely excited to see Matt hit and then fit him into a better setup. You guys are the best channel for golf by far
I think what most people miss when they are “testing,” or “reviewing” clubs is fitting it to the person with shafts, grips, weights, lengths, lies, etc... Its so individual and not always the off the shelf club. Cool video.
Just from what I’ve seen so far, I’m willing to say that this is probably the best driver TM has ever made. I’m really excited to see MOI and CGNA location. I’ve got a decent idea of where these are going to be located.
I've been waiting for a more forgiving SLDR now for about 5 years; something I can play in a higher loft to help with control but still spins low enough to help get some distance.
The good news? Price drop on M5/M6 drivers for TaylorMade fans. Cobra’s F9/SZ design beat them to it, already. It’d be good to see back-to-back tests on them with the SIM. Luckily for me I gave blood last year for my Ping G410, so I’m good for another five or ten years. EDIT: To be clear, thanks to Ian and Matt for bringing the news. You guys are aces.
Whats the differences between trackman and gc quad? I hit on a trackman for my first time ever last week using any launch monitor. I was getting crazy spin variations. Had an 8 iron spinning over 14,000 rpm sometimes. Then I’d have a 5 iron spinning 2,000. After some research I learned you need to use metallic dots on the ball with trackman indoors, the facility didn’t have any and had no idea you needed them. Is trackman better outdoors than gc quad? Would be interesting to see a short video on the pros and cons between the two which would help us better understand how to interpret the data when we go for fittings.
