- In Todays video I am doing a little project to help manage storm water and run off at the Brick House, there used to be a ditch or swale in the back yard and Im going to put a new one in. I used the RK 37 and 6' King Kutter Tiller to loosen and pulverize the soil then the RK 24 subcompact with loader and backhoe to remove the excess dirt.

Just ordered me one yesterday (rk 24) with loader,back hoe, tiller, auger,Bush hog...can't wait for it to come in .Just moved on to our property with the new house finished; I've got a ton of chores for it already .
Props to your channel! Definitely aided in my decision to buy the rk24.
They can't keep them in stock at the Sweetwater TN store. After I completed my paperwork, another fella bought a 37 right behind me, said he was watching your channel to!

What about "Rocky"? It has RK in it. My lil red mf gc1710 was called "Lil Red".
I would go with "Rocky". I like the tractor and have been doing a lot of research on different manufacturers, looks like I'll have my own RK24 in a couple of months.

I would go with Rudy.......i would also lay some gravel on top of that area...make it a drive around for the back of the house....just a thought...
I like Rudy because like you say the little sub-compact tractors really are tuff and determined ever if they are alittle slower they will get the job done .

Great idea on using rototiller ! I've got a few areas I could do that with to keep from getting so wet too...
My neighbor and I have a similar problem. We live on the side of a hill. The other night we had a torrential downpour. I got about 75 gallons of water in the basement through the window wells. He got 4 inches of water in his sunken patio. We’re going to temporarily remove 16ft of fence and he’s going to bring home a mini excavator from work, and we’re going to put in a swale between the two yards to direct the water down to the road.

Mike, your life will never be the same after having the 3 RK tractors and equipment. When I watch you and think wow I sure could use the RK 24 in my horse stalls and how sweet the RK 37 meets the middle demands of work on the property. "IF" you had to make the decision to only have 1 would it be RK 37 for maneuverability in the woods or the RK 55 for the all around fit or the RK 24 to go with the L3901? To name the little fella I like "Jr" or "Rooty" as a play on words aka Rudy and the way it digs and works.

RUDY O YES! You might look at getting a flex wing finishing mower. It would help get the job done faster and be great for you on your slopes.
Not trying to sound like a sidewalk superintendent but I think you'd be fine with just a swale at that toe of bank. A French drain would work very well too, but a swale is cheaper 😜 Loving the video content!
Question? Couldn't you set up the tiller the same way you set up the box scraper with one side lower than the other? Then you could go deeper on the hill side and less on the house side. Make a pass, clean it up then do it again and you would be pretty close.

A good name would be Thomas, as in Thomas the tank engine, the little engine that could! I’m impressed how well the rk 24 did that job, and it’s very low impact. Bigger equipment would have left the yard torn up a lot more, leaving you with more ruts to fix lol

As soon as you said time to name the RK24 I thought of Rudy! If you are going with famous sports names here are a couple to consider. 1st would be Gino. Gino is the nickname for Evgeni Malkin who is Russian. The tractor is red...a very Russian color (a stretch, but there is a connection there). 2nd would be Mario. Greatest Penguin ever (sorry Sid). Not only that Mario in the game world is short, stout, and able to handle any task thrown at him.

I think you already did name it in your video about sub compact tractors. It's abilities far exceeded its size, I believe " Tank" is appropriate.
