  • Do I Like RK TRACTORS? This is an honest overview of RK Tractors.
    The RK Tractor lineup is pretty impressive and I go over some of the specs of the RK24, RK37 and RK55
    * I misspeak about the RK24 tires being loaded as standard. The standard loaded tires start at the RK37.

    Nice job on the video, I will give you an update after almost 2 years of use so far. Only have about 500 hours total between all three tractors. No issues at all on any of them. Regeneration on the 37 and 55 occurs about every 40 - 50 hours. No issues there either. No complaints at all and am blown away on the lift capacity on the 37 and 24. Not only lifting the weight but feels good carrying it. Bottom line is I think any tractor from any brand could have a problem here and there. I have had none so far, also I think no matter what the brand 90% (at least) of the problems are a result of operator error. They are tractors not dozers lol

    I purchased the 24 in February, have about 70 hrs on tractor. I did some research before deciding on size and brand. I did have some concerns of committing to this tractor but have been thoroughly pleased, I had it serviced at 50 hours at Rural King, they provided on time and efficient work. I enjoy your videos

    Versatility for the price and ability to get parts is the most important aspects of a tractor to me. I am looking to get a subcompact to start then a larger one later on. Thanks for the video, and thanks to Outdoors with the Morgans (I’m a subscriber there as well) for the update on your tractors. Keep on bringing those videos to both of you! Hank! Another awesome video! I was assuming you were gonna mention the Morgans haha! Im glad you did that! These things seem beefy and strong for sure. I think a warranty is good but if you have a dealer that throws fine print at you and tells you to beat it then it defeats the purpose... Ive heard so many people go with other brands just for the fact that one customer service was better than others! How your treated is everything!

    That takes me back to when rural king was in McKenzie Tennessee and carried I believe it was either tractor king or foton tractors. We honestly years ago thought about buying from them. Unfortunately the store closed in McKenzie. Closest store now is in Martin Tennessee. I'd love it if rural king opened a store up here in Paris Tennessee. It was a great store. My grandfather would always drive from Paris to McKenzie because it was great service and prices for cattle feed or whatever he needed. If I could now I'd buy a rk tractor. Have to stick with used right now lol.

    I purchased an 55 hydro a little over a year ago I did have the 3rd valve installed by the dealer before it was delivered which is a must in my opinion I also purchased a grapple, snowplow, smaller 9” bucket for the backhoe the only thing I’ve notice is the rear backhoe has a leak down if it sits longer then 30 mins I know most leak down a little but I’ll need to have it looked at and wish it had a step to get in the backhoe. My 55 came out of PA and You couldn’t ask for nicer People to deal with!!!! We want an RK dealer in New York come on guys.

    Hank I've had my rk37 shuttle shift for a year-and-a-half have had warranty issues that my Rural King has repaired with no questions. the new year rk37 has the extendable three point hitch also the upgraded swing stops. with backhoe framing sits very low to the ground. with fuel tank being right in the back you can't look over to hook up an Implement very well but I like the fuel tank where it's at. would you please ask whether they actually have delivery available my store had delivery available if you bought a trailer.
    With all that said I would buy it again I'm very pleased. I also have true root rake grapple that is fantastic on this machine.

    Gotta be honest, that 3 point control on the back seems like a potential danger to have your feet somewhere they shouldn't be when bringing down an implement. I can stand next to my Kubota L3901 and easily move the 3 point up and down out of the way of the implement and doesn't seem inconvenient. All that said, I didnt realize the RKs came standard with rear remotes, and I know the RK37 loader stats are better than my 3901. Starting to think I should have taken the time to drive over to the nearest RK to look at one. Maybe down the road if I look at getting a cab tractor! 😉

      Something I have noticed is that some brands make it hard to internet shop for tractors. Mahindra for example makes it simple, they price it with a loader or without. Others like JD make it almost impossible to find the price. They will advertise using something like $$$ starting at a one price but when you sit down the price somehow gets larger because with a loader you have to get the 12 speed and larger tires, or what ever. Also with one brand I was looking at they advertised a great price but if you paid cash you find out the advertised price was only good if you financed it with them. Then the finance charge is way high so in the end the price is not what you thought so you finance for 8 or so years to keep the payments low.

Another con is service after the sale, no qualified service technicians, mechanics in case of warranty issue. another negative - long waiting period for replacement parts. The pro is you get more tractor for the price but with so many cons will it be really worth the savings?

    As a retired diesel mechanic and farm owner it has always puzzled me in the world of diesel horsepower means nothing. But TORQUE does the WORK!!! And in farming weight is the #1 priority, #2 torque priority in my book! You get those two things right and it means more acres per GALLON!!!

      Power is a function of weight. I watched an old traction engine that was 40hp go up against a 90hp modern tractor. The traction engine proceeded to effortlessly pull the sled the distance and the modern tractor didn't even make it halfway. So yes, torque but the tractor has to have enough weight to put it to the ground. You can also put a crawler against any similar horsepower tractor. The crawler will outweigh the tractor every time and always will outperform the same.

    I like the Tractor and everything it has to offer , my biggest fear is what happens when RK is swallowed up by a competitor , happened to KMart, happened to Sears, it can happen any big box store and I'm already reading about TYM being a little hesitant on RK or Mahindra repairs, even though we know they are TYM tractors. • @HamiltonvilleFarm
      @HamiltonvilleFarm  3 года назад +1

      I think you are confusing DPF with DEF. DEF is the fluid you put into the tractor as an additive to keep the system cleaned. DPF is the filter used to collect the "soot" ...Mahindra's don't have the DPF. THey use a MCRD design. Some tractors with the the regen system on it will need to regen thats true, other tractors like Branson will have a "passive" regen system, which means you'll never know its in regen state because it does it while you're working.

    A 8 year powertrain warranty is not worth much to me because that is not a problem area. It is the electrical and other goofball type things that go out. Another issue that some manufactures hide in the fine print is that if the tractor is used commercially the warranty is only good for 90 days or so and if you are honest most owners make a little money on the side using their tractor. Also most dealers charge a big service fee to come to the farm so you have to get it to the dealer. So to me the longer powertrain warranty is not a big deal. RK may be a great tractor but there are no dealers even close to me. Mahindra is the same but with the closest dealer 35 miles away. My dealer is 4 miles away and is great. I do not believe there is any tractor brand that is the "best" so I do not shop for color. However I have several friends that have bought a different brand than me and keep having small nagging problems that the dealer can not fix. One of these friends bought a new tractor 20 years ago when I bought mine. Same size and were the same just a different color. We both sold and bought new tractors a year ago and mine sold for $4,000 more than his. In fact he had to trade it in because no one wanted it. It is very hard to decide on what tractor to buy.
