The director for this movie said the filming of Godzilla's rampage was to mirror the atomic bombings of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Stating: "If Godzilla had been a dinosaur or some other animal, he would have been killed by just one cannonball. But if he were equal to an atomic bomb, we wouldn't know what to do. So, I took the characteristics of an atomic bomb and applied them to Godzilla."
This movie addresses the nuclear bombs that were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki at the end of WWIl in the only way the US would allow Japan. The characters are very well acted out, Dr.Serizawa is like the equivalent to Oppenheimer in the story. The special effects still manage to hold up despite it releasing 70 years ago.
What a fantastic reaction video' I would love to see a follow up of the next sequel Godzilla Raids Again (1955), the only thing I will say about it is that he does not come back alone! If that does not pique your interest to watch the next one as soon as possible I don't know what will? Here's hoping someone request the 1st sequel to this fantastic franchise and his 70th Anniversary is about 3 weeks away I believe' which will be on November 3rd, maybe on that day will get to see the sequel???
If you play on watching more Godzilla, You'd also have to watch other important kaiju solo movies, so the order for the following movies would be: Godzilla 1954 Godzilla Raids Again Rodan Mothra (1961) King Kong vs Godzilla (1962) Mothra vs Godzilla (1964) Gidorah The Three headed monster
A good watch list for these films to me would be: Godzilla (1954) Return of Godzilla (1984, especially the "Godzilla 1985" version, my personal favorite) The Monsterverse films (2014 to present) Shin Godzilla (2016) and of course, Godzilla Minus One (2023, probably the best of them all).
10:57 - IF you want to find "The Loch Ness Monster", just watch the Original King Kong from 1933. A long-necked Dinosaur comes up out of the swamp and across the screen in a manner that is eerily similar to the first recorded sighting of 'Nessie'. Which happened to a couple only a few days AFTER they had seen the film in its debut in the UK. Maybe KONG inspired Nessie?
Props to the godzilla actor in the suit because its said they have to film quickly because its so hot in the suit that the actor actually would faint due to heat exhaustion
The scene after Godzilla rampage, the hospital scene was a lot like what happened in Hiroshima. Alot of people in Japan were against this movie because some of the scenes looked straight out of the destruction of Hiroshima. For 1954, the effects were amazing. The reason Godzilla became enraged by light, if from the Atomic bomb, that disfigured and scarred him. The flash when the bomb detonated.
The original and the greatest! I'll take it over any of the subsequent movies, either those silly kiddie-oriented "Vrs" films or some post 2000 overblown Hollywood cgi orgy.
Such an amazing movie I recommend reacting to more of the old Godzilla movies been a huge fan since I was little most are pretty good, if you wanna watch wanna watch a certain amount I recommend doing the heisi series, the Godzilla universe has many different series the showa era 1954-1975, the heisi era that ignores all of the showa films except the original and the heisi era officially starts with return of Godzilla 1984 set 30 years after the original this series is the most connected and the finale for the heisi series Godzilla vs Destoroyah is fabulous best Godzilla film, there’s also the millennium era 1999-2004 besides the 2 Mechagodzilla ones they are all set in their own time, the monsterverse era the Hollywood ones from 2014-present, and the reiwa era 2016-present this era much like the millennium era all is set in their own timeline

I always suggest watching the movies in this order: The first 7 movies, skip to Destroy All Monsters. Next, watch Godzilla vs. MechaGodzilla. Move on to the Heisei era, then Millennium and the current ones. As much as I love Jet Jaguar, the Showa movies starting with Hedorah starts the "kids friendly" stage. @VerisimilitudeFilms1 Because Godzilla wasn't living in Hiroshima or Nagasaki . He was living underwater where the tests were taking place. The inspiration for Godzilla came from a Japanese fishing boat that was irradiated in 1954 by an American hydrogen bomb test, not the A bombs. The subtitles in this movie are of poor quality. In the movie, the doctor says, "Godzilla was born from a hydrogen bomb experiment." However, the subtitles always say atomic bomb, so it is read as if Godzilla was born from an atomic bomb dropped on Japan during the war. This is a fatal mistake.
