- Fujifilm X100V is a great EDC and travel camera. Is an official refurbished one just as good? Fujifilm has finally started selling refurbished gears in the US. I was fortunate enough to pick up the very hard-to-find X100V, refurbished at a great discounted price. Let’s unbox it and see what it comes with and more importantly, the condition of the refurbished camera. I’ll also share why I got this camera as a Sony Shooter.

Interesting what you found when you opened the box, because the #Fuji site clearly states under What's Included: "Refurbished items do not ship with additional accessories." Also wondering what you would have done if the shutter count was say 90,000. Again, according to their site; "PURCHASES OF REFURBISHED PRODUCTS... CANNOT BE RETURNED AND ARE NOT SUBJECT TO RETURN AT ANY TIME, FOR ANY REASON". It appears there is some risk in purchasing refurbished items from Fuji, as you have very limited recourse if something is not right.

My x100v arrived today and it looks great. Came with firmware version 2.02 and a shutter count of 0. Upgraded to version 2.11 and now I have a lot of reading to do. Thanks again for the info.

I left My Sony a7III for Fuji and haven’t looked back. I’m down to just my x100f and it’s been great for family photos and grabbing when I run out the door. I might get a refurb x100v one day

Full frame Nikon user buying an X100V for similar reasons. Want an EDC I can just enjoy on trips out. Question… do you travel with this in a small shoulder bag? Is the top silver material sensitive to scratching?

Longtime Nikon shooter. In 2017, my wife bought me my first fuji (xe3) as a present. Added the xt30 shortly after... Sold off the majority of my Nikon gear which the last few pieces sit unused. I currently have an xh1, two xe4s (a good selection of xf lenses)...and now the x100v. I couldn't resist any longer once I got the Twitter alert about the refurb...I reflexively bought it.
Apart from the x100v, I've recently been enjoying dipping my toe into adapting manual lenses to my fuji bodies.
One thing that you *may* instantly notice is just how many more quality pics you have of your family because of the size and joy of shooting fuji. It was an eye opener for me as I'm just a dad that enjoys documenting his growing family. At first, I had to make myself bring the xe3 along; now I always have a fuji on me.
Enjoy, but beware! That little camera may have a liberating effect not just on your creativity...it may also liberate some of your Sony gear from your closets!
