"That Little Ol' Band From Texas".... There is nobody like them. I have seem them live 4 times and the place is a PARTY like NO other band I've ever seen (many). These videos OWNED MTV for the decade and made The "Eliminator" a legendary set of wheels. Thanks my friend again.
"Sharp Dressed Man" Clean shirt, new shoes And I don't know where I am goin' to Silk suit, black tie (black tie) I don't need a reason why They come runnin' just as fast as they can 'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man Gold watch, diamond ring I ain't missin' not a single thing Cufflinks, stick pin When I step out I'm gonna do you in They come runnin' just as fast as they can 'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man Top coat, top hat And I don't worry 'cause my wallet's fat Black shades, white gloves Lookin' sharp, lookin' for love They come runnin' just as fast as they can 'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
JM... Your first time with this band was a video that did not show them (intentional on my part) with "Rough Boy". You heard Billy do an awesome solo, then it was time to see these videos, next you want to see them LIVE. You have seen and like many great rock bands, so far, BUT I know these fellas will end up near the top of your favorites. They are just too much fun...... "Cheap Sunglasses"... "Legs"...Tush"... "Fool For Your Stockings"... "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide"... "TV Dinners".... "Tube Snake Boogie".... "Peal Necklace"
These guys have played with TONS of different bands, from Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Jeff Beck, Joe Satriani, Rush, Allman Bros....hell you name a band, they prolly played with 'em. I've seen them twice and they're one of the loudest and tightest bands you'll ever see!!!
I always liked 70's ZZ more than 80's such as this one. Not that I didn't like the 80's stuff; it was just a bit more mainstream and radio friendly. True of a lot of artists that reinvented themselves for the 80's. Two that come to mind immediately are Heart and Doobie Brothers. If you want to hear something relatively new from them that really slams check out I Gotsta Get Paid.

"LEGS" - Same three guys, same cool car, same babes.... different plot, just as cool.
This is real rock with a capitol R. 🎶🎶🎸🎸👍
"Same Three Guys, Same Three Cords, For Over Five Decades" - Billy Gibbons at the last show I saw just before Dusty died.
Love ZZ Top. Saw them last summer. Still a great band. A time when men dressed fly.

You NEVER want a ZZ Top song to fade out!

Clean shirt, new shoes
And I don't know where I am goin' to
Silk suit, black tie (black tie)
I don't need a reason why
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
Gold watch, diamond ring
I ain't missin' not a single thing
Cufflinks, stick pin
When I step out I'm gonna do you in
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
Top coat, top hat
And I don't worry 'cause my wallet's fat
Black shades, white gloves
Lookin' sharp, lookin' for love
They come runnin' just as fast as they can
'Cause every girl crazy 'bout a sharp-dressed man
"When I Step Out, I'm Gonna Do You In" - Billy Gibbons
Thanks again for dinning at the Classic Rock Restaurant. This one is On The House, my treat, see you again soon.
They became red hot when the ELIMINATOR album was released, and kept it going with AFTERBURNER. SO many great hits made then.
How much fun did they have making these videos. what a party that must have been.
Alrighty then!!! I love this song! 😊😊
BTW, your analysis of this song was very insightful and smart, as usual, no surprise.
Jimi Hendrix once said Billy Gibbons was his favorite guitar player

It seems everybody loves ZZ Top. The 4 times I saw them the place is a massive party with the three coolest guys in RnR.
I rec the show in 2018... "La Grange" and "Tush" to close the show at my place you will like to see them live

Video of the Year, 1983, according to "Friday Night Videos". Although I still think Def Leppard's "Foolin'" should have won.
