@@CanadiansReact Not exactly,, back in the early 90s when he was at his peak, Andrew Dice Clay started facing backlash for his material (banned from MTV, SNL) and he took some time off and did ran a gym before rebuilding his career, even having a short-lived sitcom in the mid-90s on I think CBS and he was able to recover fairly well, not quite to where he was but he was still a draw at comedy clubs nation wide as a headline act, hell you can thank him (or blame him) for making Jim Norton relevant as a comedian since he was Clay's opening act at the time. Now the CNN incident happened in mid to late 2003 right as Clay was having new comedy specials, getting regular work on TV, movies, and doing a national tour and releasing a new album... so he was having at the time quite a bit of success... and the first thing the reporter does (and this is on youtube) is basically imply that Clay was a non-entity and that he basically disappeared from the lime-light.
D Man was the best back in the day when people weren't so sensitive. 80s and 90s are the best years, now people are just sensitive babies. I feel for all those millennials that have to be politically correct or your accused of being racist and hateful. People loved D Man, he's the only comedian to sell out at Madison Square Gardens in New York two shows back to back.
The "Dice Man' still sells out in Vegas (pre-Covid) performing a few nights a week. For anyone who's a fan of the TV show M*A*S*H look for the episode with a brief appearance by young Andrew Clay, he has one line in the episode..
Easy to see you didn't like the last few jokes on race xD You both watch his "The Dice Cometh" special. That's a full hour of this stuff, and the complete audience is going on their knees! Be kissed!
I worked with guys like Dice Man. He poked fun at stereotypes and he is a stereotypical guy from Brooklyn. Times have changed and your faces told me just how uncomfortable it was for you. Like you said, it’s comedy.
Comedy was the best back in the day. The culture today is not funny. We all have flaws and dirt, we're human. Is it time to cancel humanity? Cancel the cancellers. Peace.
Dice is an equal opportunity offender. He puts down EVERYBODY. No holds barred. You think you're safe, just wait. He did star in the movie The Adventures of Ford Fairlane. It was cool. Not the greatest , but passable. He's just funny.
Nobody canceled any Dr. Seuss. The publisher decided to stop printing 6 titles that don't sell. Tell me; how many copies of "I Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street" have you, yourself, bought? Was that in the last decade? The last three decades? That's what I thought. Capitalism, baby; you're either in or you're out on this one. It's the free market in action.
I think this was the dice man at the top of his game I don't remember him having anything that was any funnier than this it's very racist but in 87 it was very funny, the world is very sensitive today and that's okay things should change, I guess. If I were you I don't think I would try to find anything funnier from The Dice Man. It just gets raunchy not funnier.. make funny not fun
I remember watching this and then for weeks in end it highschool people running around and reciting this!! Classic

We need more comedians like him. Everyone needs to relax and enjoy the show and laugh. You need thicker skin…life is short

Deep down inside , in places you don't talk about , you know you agree with at least some of what he said - maybe not all , but some ...
Andrew Dice Clay is not like that in real life, he's playing a character like, he did in the movie Casual Sex. He's not a bigot

Duce Clay was a Racist and a Homophobe. I found him as unfunny in 1988 as I do now.
