-Our Intro Song "Feel the Love" From Alex's band
open.spotify.com/album/4Dao8y... - Кино
Your grandma listened to this when it was just released in a halter top and Daisy Dukes. Good summer.
Well put!
Problem is, Grandma still wears that! Granny, put some clothes on!
Netflix has a great documentary on ZZ Top.
They tell a story about how Billy couldn't get those gravelly vocals during a recording session, so he took his shirt off, smoked a couple heaters and ran around the block in the cold until he found that sound.
Absolute legends
Dusty Hill sings this song
@@davidteller7681 I used to sing this song in a cover band in the 70s. they called me Dusty Throat.
@@davidteller7681 Yep!
Oooh snap.
@@69zenos1 Ok, I literally LOL'd at that!!! :D
I love I’m Bad I’m Nationwide.Bluesy and so funny.
Deguello, baby!
Yeah, they gotta do this tune. The best!
Killer track!
One of their best for sure!
YES, and especially the 1980 live version from German TV.
The perfect display of doing everything they do a top level
The Right Reverend Billie Gibbons on guitar, Dusty Hill on bass (and lead vocal here), Frank Beard on drums (ironically, the only one of the three who doesn't have a beard). Killer song.
Actually, Frank caved and grew a beard in 2013. Unsure if he still has it, though!
Duh!😇
Didn't know dusty sang this. He's awesome.
A@A you gotta do "Heard it on the X" One of the greatest riffs of all time! and why Jimi Hendrix called
Billie one of the greatest he ever heard!
Im Bad Im Nationwide should be on your ZZ list!
Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers should also be on it.
Next ZZ Top banger you need in your life...'Heard It On the X"
🤘
they did it in a deep cuts livestream. it was my first time hearing the song too and it's a complete banger i'd been missing out!
Yes please 🙏!!!!!
You have to do Cheap Sunglasses next!
Oh Yeah!!!!!
My fave ZZ Top song only slightly edging out La Grange
We should let them, know the album Deguello was a shift in production and style. More groove oriented with more polished production.
Agree 100% or Bad I'm Nationwide
Do it next please and thank you.
Cheap Sunglasses 😎 is definitely an awesome hit, must do it!
And while I'm thinking about it" I'm bad I'm Nationwide" absolute bangerness.
Hearing you throw a Southern accent just did this Southern girl proud!! I've never loved you more!!
Being a Georgia boy I love me some of those peaches 🍑
More of the early ZZ Topp catalogue. This was when their best music was made. The Album "Tres Hombres."
_Eliminator_ is a fucking great album
"Rio Grande Mud".
This song appeared in the movie Dazed and Confused. I think the scene where they are riding around knocking down mailboxes, then Mitch throws a bowling ball through a car's windshield.
Love that movie...these guys definitely need to see it.
@@dickcnormis1444 They did see it . Its on the patreon page.
That's because this song appeared at every kegger in that era.
It was also in "The Perfect Storm" when they are fishing the Grand Banks.
@@mespencer53 cool, I would do anything to relive the old days of cruising around and listening to great tunes. The best part was every other car out there was blasting great music too. Today all I hear is crappy hip hop and spineless fake pop music .
Me two seconds before the tune: I don't think I know this one. Me two seconds into the tune: Of course I know this tune!
That was me too. 2 strums of that guitar and I was like, "Oh, that one".
"oh yeah...that other zz top song"
I always thought he was looking for some touch. Who knew.
@@cchilders1212 that's me! I thought it was touch too. Actually, now that I know I like the song better. I always thought that 'touch' was a little tame for a heavy rock band.
@@cchilders1212 I'm glad I'm not the only one! LOL!
In a 1985 interview with Spin magazine, bass player Dusty Hill explained: “It meant what it means in New York. Tush is also like plush, very lavish, very luxurious."
And if you believe that then do get in touch, as there's a bridge in the middle of London I'd like to sell you.
They also said, "Tube Snake Boogie" was about surfing.
@@armadillotoe And we're not even gonna talk about "Pearl Necklace".
Their whole schtick was about coming up with interpretations of their songs beyond what they are clearly about. XD
Mexican Blackbird from the same album as Tush... another great tune, and very overlooked. Probably my all time favorite, but there are a lot of great ones.
Preach
It would be funny to see their reaction to that
My boyfriend, ex husband, and 2 sons were all in a band together. They were exceptional musicians. They used to do this song and it got the dance floor hopping. It was my 2nd favorite song to dance to.
What was your first favorite?
I wanna know too. Don't leave us hanging.
You’re being a tease.. what was your favorite?
My favorite was Led Zeppelin, Rock and Roll.
@@55judylw very cool!
Y'all need to do "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers" next time you dip into ZZ.
this is the correct answer
That and "Heard it on the X". Can't get loud enough.
Ever want to have a good time closing a bar.... play this
@@robmcgrath5202 agree. A these people recommending the later synth stuff need to go back and listen to ZZ Top when they were raw, loud and untouchable. Not the MTV crap
Awesome tune!
Blue Jean Blues on the same album is a slow blues with gorgeous guitar playing.
Best finger squeak ever!
Definitely the best tune this week! Gotta love a little "Tush" on Friday, one of ZZ Top's best.
Took me back to 20 year old me getting ready to go out with my roommate on a Friday night. Look out!
Seriously, you guys need to check out all of side 1, the live side of this album in your free time. You will not be disappointed.
If there ever was a song where whiskey forms a good accompaniment, it’s this. I must obey.
Agreed, but I think “One Bourbon, One Scotch, One Beer” takes the prize
@@mkswk09 haha very true
GOOOOOOOOOD MORNING A & A FAMILY
☮️♥️♾️
Good morning, John! Have a great weekend!
The boogie is so strong in ZZ Top!
Should check out some of there other older one's like Driving While Blind or Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers.
IRON BUTTERFLY - IN A GADDA DA VIDA - 1968 This should have been on your recent poll list. People have been asking for it for a while now. 💛💛💛
Some more bangers from ZZ Top to pick from listed in no particular order -
Tube Snake Boogie, Sharp Dressed Man, Cheap Sunglasses, Pearl Necklace
Nothing from the first 5 or 6 albums? Lol
@@aquatarkus2022 70s ZZ Top > 80s ZZ Top. There’s some great stuff after the 70s but those first 6 are SOLID. Whiskey’n mama, precious and grace, nasty dogs and funky kings, master of sparks. Most people will be suggesting legs and gimme all your lovin and sharp dressed man
"Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers". Another great song.
@@davidhathcock50 definitely I mean when you start an album with waitin for the bus, Jesus just left Chicago, beer drinkers and hell raisers, and master of sparks....need I say more.
This is the REAL ZZ Top, the band whose fans hated the MTV makeover.
YES!!!!!
Actually I loved both
Tell ZZ Top that all the work they did for the next 30 years after what you think is REAL was fake and worthless. I don't they the band would agree with you at all.
I liked both periods, but I would put Blue Jean Blues over this.
Got some bad news for you. The MTV era of ZZ Top is as much REAL ZZ Top as their older works, whether you like it or not.
"Beer Drinkers, Hell Raisers." Give this ZZ Top song a spin.
Alex: I know what this song is about.
Narrator: He did not.
My son's first concert. Took him to see ZZ Top when he turned 10. He was embarrassed that his Mom was dancing. (Like everyone else)
Geesh, he should be happy he has a cool Mom. When I was 10, I listened to nothing but Country, because my Dad wouldn't allow "that Devil music" to be played in the house. My first concert at 21 was ZZ Top, and I saw things there I never saw before. LOL The comment is on here somewhere.
@@AJfanboy1 He is 32 now, and very happy about that. I exposed him to all genres, but like his Mother he is a Rocker. Bought him his first Metallica many moons ago.
Awesome. Accompanied my oldest to her first concert - Smashing Pumpkins! She, too, was embarrassed. Probably cause I was in the mosh pit...
@@jamesjohnston9225 LOL! Was the best place to be!
My mom took me to my first concert. ZZ Top. Loved it. I was like 11
Your mom is GREAT!!
COOL MOM!
Tube Snake Boogie by ZZ Top is a must!
"Tube Snake Boogie"
@@dwashington1333 thanks man....missed that earlier lol
My introduction to ZZ Top was when they toured this album with Blue Oyster Cult as the opener. Both bands had new 'hits' Tush by ZZ Top and Don't Fear The Reaper by BOC. Amazing concert.
Perfect timing. It's my lunch break! 👍
"Grandma" probably grooved to this, back when, on vinyl (imagine that!)
Check out “I’m bad, I’m nationwide” great song of theirs!
You might want to try "Blue Jean Blues" for a longer song by them, with good guitar work.
Same album, too
Waitin for the Bus/Jesus left Chicago. What a banger....one of my absolute favorites.
Please, please, please do “Cheap Sunglasses” next 😎😎😎
Some great playing by Billy Gibbons as always. I love his tone. Old ZZ Top is the best of Texas Blues Still hoping y'all get to 'Like A Hurricane' - (You Florida Boys Have To Play This) It mixes beauty and fury in equal parts. It 100% banger. 'Cortez The Killer' - contains one of his most influential guitar solos ever. The song is submerged in an ocean of distortion from the start with Young employing one of his preferred tunings, the double drop D tuning or DADGBD (I know musicians like yourself will understand what I'm talking about). It's so good it makes me cry. Those melodies are so emotional, so calculated, constructed note to note on both songs. They are long but you won't care. Give old Neil a chance.
Your “Grandma” probably conceived your parent to “Tush”! 😅
My grandma was born in 1901 so probably not 😂
@@clbdyc or maybe she was a time traveler! 😉
Brilliant. Dirty 12-bar blues, with a perfect raunchy voice and a guitar to match.
Haven't heard this banger in a while. Great tune to get the weekend started!!
You haven't truly experienced ZZ until you've heard "Cheap Sunglasses" and "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide".......
I loved the "B" side to "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide". I'm a "Fool for Your Stockings".
also Tube Snake Boogie
When I was young I thought this song said 'touch' instead of tush. I was much older than I should have been when I found out I was wrong. I had just never seen the title written.
I don't think you're alone in this one. Pretty sure I thought the same thing until I was a teenager.
Yep, I wondered why I could never find Touch on any album. Finally saw it on the soundtrack of Perfect Storm and realised my mistake.
Same!!!!
Part of the reason may be because he mispronounces “tush.” It’s from Yiddish, from tuches. The vowel is a short oo, like in “good.”
Once I realized what the word actually was, I always thought the mispronouncing was to make it rhyme with "much". There's not a whole lot that rhymes with the standard pronounciation of "tush".
Texas Rock/Blues 🎸
Heck YEAH!! ✌🎵
If they're playing the "Fandango" version that they were showing the cover of, that's off of the World Wide Texas Tour, where they put a longhorn steer, a rattlesnake, cactus and more up on stage, bring Texas to the fans. Helluva show.
Fandango is only half of a live album. Side 1 live Side 2 is Studio songs
I was at one of their stops on that tour. 1976... I posted a comment about it above... or maybe it's below now... but it's on here somewhere. LOL
I saw that tour. stationed at ft lewis wa and saw it in the seattle center with elvin bishop opening for then.
That tour was for the Tejas album.
And thus began an incredible run on prices for 1959 Sunburst Les Pauls. ‘Pearly Gates’ is as famous as Page’s double neck Gibson, and Brian May’s hand made.
Get in, get out, clean finish. That's how you do it.
A tribute to John Lee Hooker. Add to the list of songs for those who like a little humor in their day.
You must try "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide" or "Beer Drinkers and Hell Raisers" or "Pearl Necklace" yes, that's what it's about...by the boys...they're all bangers!
You guys need to do this as a full album, this was one of my very favorite albums in high school
You guys would love their live energy. Check out the 1980 "Double Down Live" performance: "Cheap Sunglasses", "Nasty Dogs & Funky Kings", "I'm Bad, I'm Nationwide"...anything from that recording is stellar.
You gotta do "Arrested For Driving While Blind," and "It's Only Love."
Great video,keep it up!🇨🇴
ZZTop say no more!! I'm always up for them!! What I love about your channel is when you get it right you get it right.!! Rock on!!
This song should be in every playlist. Just... always.
Youse guys made me laugh out loud AGAIN! ....TUSH, baby!
Hey, by the way, shout out to your grandma, and all is grandmas and grandpas listening to you. Don’t forget we were into these bands when we were your age lol!! Show us some love dudes!
The best ZZ songs are album cuts, not singles: “Hot, Blue, and Righteous”, “Sheik”, “Master of Sparks”, “Just Got Paid”, “Mexican Blackbird”, “Manic Mechanic”. Seriously good stuff.
I had forgotten about Hot, Blue, and Righteous. Always enjoyed that when it came up on the cassette.
Great list, how bout 10 ft. pole as well.
"I bit off more than I could chew." I almost spit my coffee across the room! 🤣
‘Ten Dollar Man’ and ‘She’s a Heartbreaker’ off Tejas!
"Avalon Hideway" and "Pan Am Highway Blues" TEJAS is their best under appreciated album of all.
Glad you got to this one. Love me some ZZ
You've got to listen to Legs and Sharp Dressed Man.
"Legs" the ALBUM version
The 'real'sound of ZZ Top. At their very best
"I Heard it on the X" is a true banger.
For rockin and funny, also Cheap Sunglasses and Tubesnake Boogie
My first concert was ZZ Top. I was 14. Went with my aunt who was a diehard Hippie. 1978 or 79. Yea. I was brought up right.
Tush came out in 1975 The same year as BOHEMIAN RHAPSODY BY QUEEN , The 70s WERE ROCKIN ,,
When I was in high school, there was an ice cream shop by the school. They had a juke box and songs like La Grange were on it. This was early to mid 70's.
1975 RELEASED ,,
By leaving any comment it helps Andy & Alex in youtube's algorithm.

"any comment."
"Sharp dressed man" love me some ZZ top
Next “I Thank You” oh yes also “I’m Bad I’m Nationwide” and “Cheap Sunglasses” 🤟🎸🤟 PS “Jane” by Jefferson Starship!!!! Major banger in Toto’s “hold the line” ballpark!!!!
ZZ Top always have such great guitar and drum mixes. Their melodies are the absolute best!
Back in the days of 8 Track a buddy and I were lifting weights in an old garage. This kid pulls up in a big jacked up 4x4 pickup with Tush blazing. First thing out of my mouth was "Who..is..that..band?" "ZZ Top Tush, man.' I went out and bought it the next day.
I want to thank you, kicks ass!
I think "I'm Bad I'm Nationwide" is up there with La Grange. Cheap Sunglasses is pretty good too. Sharp Dressed man...Legs... These are about the coolest three guys to ever hum a tune.
Cheap sun Glasses WAS RELEASED In the sweet 70s , 1979 ,,
Classic! You would also love I'm Bad I'm Nationwide by them. Pure blues, a massive banger.
And you still need to do "Snortin' Whiskey" by Pat Travers
I say boom boom to that!😎
love , love ,love
Love how your bobble head and the whiskey is rocking along.
I remember seeing ZZ Top in concert as part of their Worldwide Texas Tour in '76. It makes an impression when you see a Longhorn steer and a Buffalo on stage.
This song sums up ZZTops prime rock and roll motivation.
Another fantastic quick banger from the same album, Heard It On The X! Billy Gibbons, top 5 guitarists of all time, amazing tone.
Many hours spent back in the day cruising to First Album when it first came out, enjoying the warm Georgia weather with the windows down, while sparking a little herb. Brown Sugar, Shakin’ Your Tree and Certified blues are must listens. Great album. And they only got better!
Nationwide
Yesss more ZZ Top!
ZZ Top - Heard it on the X
LOVELOVELOVE this ZZ song!!!
Great commentary 👍
I love that tune when I DJ for my friends because I can slip it in anywhere without blowing my playlist and it immediately lifts the mood
Gotta meet your grandma, she sounds like a BLAST!!
LOL my mom is this kool, she loves The Top!!!
Lol im 75 and almost hurt myself boogieing across the room......Lawd! Take me downtown!
You guys need to go see them live! Such a great show!
My first concert and I can see lots of comments that it was their first concert too because ZZ Top would come to the smaller venues. God bless them!
I saw them twice in concert. Oh. My. God. What a show!
It was high time, dudes. One of my ZZ Top faves 😎
love how the whiskey in your decanter dances along in rhythm
I was hoping you would have picked fleetwood mac's Tusk from the poll. I love ZZ but tusk is so original.
Another great tune by zz top kinda of a deep cut, and thats the elmore james blues remake of dust my broom love that tune
I like the way the bottle of whiskey and the Andy & Alex figurines were dancing along ..😁
Early ZZ Top, perfecting their sound down in deep south Texas before national recognition. Hence the Album, 'Rio Grande Mud'. Different era - used to swim in that River & dive from the cliffs on the Mexican Side.
'Just Got Paid Today'
The whiskey dancing to the beat was hypnotic
