ZZ Top never disappoints with the guitars. Lex should love all of their music. To hear their versatility, Waiting for the Bus/Jesus just left Chicago nearly has it all.

I'm liking the more lyric vids. You get to actually pay attention to what's being said. And in some cases, find out just how terrible a popular song could be.
Yeah, I hate music videos, but the unfortunate truth is that songs of this era were literally written to be "seen" on the shiny-new "MTV"... In most cases, they weren't "deep" and we didn't need to analyze the lyrics... I'm glad those days are over, but it's probably best to -listen- "watch" the song as the artist (or record company) intended. 😏

It's hard for somebody who doesn't know anything about the songs to know if the official video, or lyric video, or live video, or whatever that War Pigs video is, is the best to react to for the first time.
@@Bob5mith It's a good rule of thumb that if the song was released in the 80s, the video is worth a watch. You really need to see this with the video that goes with it. It's part of a trilogy of this song, 'Legs' and 'Gimme All Your Loving'. They all tell a story and are also very amusing. Oh yeah and they all feature the famous Eliminator car.
ZZ Top was a fairly successful blues band that experimented and branched out to become one of the top rock bands of the 80's, that's why the styles are so different. :)
I'm sorry, but I have to disagree. I never liked these dudes, and I'll tell you the exact reason why. Every single song they put out sounded exactly the same. Some will try and say, oh that's their signature sound, I say, HUM 🤔🤔🤔. Each to their own, but for myself--- I'll Pass!!!
Great job, Lex, on catching that this vibe was more of an 80's feel. "La Grange" was a 1973 hit, and this one was in 1983. Although, I don't know how you thought this might be a different band. There's no mistaking ZZ Top's sound. Gimme All Your Lovin is probably my favorite of theirs.
I absolutely love the contrast of reaction between you guys in your reaction videos.....Lex is so much following the music vibes and Brad more the lyrics....what a great combination to listen to. BEST REACTION VIDEOS ON THE WEB!!!!!
Billy Gibbons has a decently wide range of singing styles and range that he can work with. There are also some songs where Dusty Hill sang lead instead, the most famous one being 'Tush.' I highly recommend Tush, by the way. Awesome song.
Best band I ever heard in concert. It's amazing that it's only the three of them playing on stage. My favorite song is rough boy, the guitar is amazing.
@@tomrockwood851 Incorrect. Take her to the 80s where we were having TONS of fun! You had everything INCLUDING 70s music. Go to the 70s and you miss out.

Guys, "Waiting for the bus/Jesus just left Chicago" is where its at. And Lex made a good observation, Sharp Dressed Man came out in the 80's as opposed to La Grange and Waiting for the Bus which both came out in the 70's.
Best part of the day, getting off work, having some dinner and watching Brad & Lex. You guys are awesome and always a treat to see what weirdness is gonna come out of Lex's mouth. Wish you guys all the best...
These 3 are my absolute favorites. I was blessed to see them live 3 times and meet them. The reverend Billy G has some good range, check out Legs and Manic Mechanic
Saw them the first time when a freshman in highschool Jan 1984, Night Ranger opened. I had only seen Black Sabbath/Quiet Riot, Ozzy, and ACDC. My best friend loved ZZ Top so I went with him not knowing what to expect . It was fantastic. The vibe was one big party with people dancing everywhere. The people in front of us bought us beers the whole night. It was def different than what I had experienced so far, but not any less awesome. RIP Dusty Hill

I have to say I watch quite a few reaction channels and I have to admit Brad & Lex is by far my favorite. They always give fresh and unique responses. Keep doing what you do so damn good!
Life was a WHOLE LOT MORE FUN back then. Artists understood the value in innuendo. Music could manage to be raunchy but you rarely had to cover your kids ears when it played. Life as a whole used to be that way, but today music is not even tolerable 90% of the time. At least to me it isn't. Thankfully people started reacting to older music here on youtube, and it has been rather enjoyable watching people experience all of this old music as if it were completely new. To a certain degree we are experiencing it for the first time all over again - as if THAT made any sense at all. LOL
Lex seems to have the most fun and when she likes something she holds the headphones tighter to her ears. Brad analyzes while Lex grooves. Keep having fun guys….
Lex, you hit the nail on the head again when you said this was like 80s, dance music. ZZ Top really evolved their sound in the 80s. They kept those signature guitar sounds and riffs, but the music became much more danceable, and their videos were amazing! They were one of the first bands to figure out the power of music videos, and they killed it on MTV (back when they played music videos, of course). Everyone was dancing to ZZ Top in the clubs!
Please try the Talking Heads, either 'Burning Down The House' or, if you're ready for a little New York uniqueness, 'Psyco Killer'. Maybe 'Stay Up Late'.
Dont need more lyrics. Its one of the coolest songs on earth... just imagine doing a long hall road trip with this blasting... thats what its all about.
This album was in a lot of ways parallel to Metallica's Black album where it drew in a lot of new fans but alienated a lot of the old. ZZTops old stuff will always be pinnacle to me.
The strangest thing about this band is that they were this Rock and Roll Boogie Woogie band with a heavy blues influence from Texas that suddenly dominated the Radio and MTV at the height of new wave and early hip hop era. They caught on to the new age of the music video right away and became Gigantic. If you ever watched the TV show Bones the guy who plays the father of the character named Angela is the one singing on most of their songs.
Lex, it is awesome watching you discover all this great music that has been around for most of us for years. I love your enthusiasm and natural reactions. 🤘🥰🤘
Their Eliminator album was their jump into the mainstream; the roughness of before smoothed out. Everyone that listened to rock radio knew who ZZ Top was from this point forward.
Love ZZ Top. Met Billy Gibbons at a boxing match in Houston early 80's. We both showed up at the bar at the same time. I looked at him and said "You're ZZ Top" and he said I'm Billy Gibbons! lol - he bought my drink and gave me his autograph. Played them on 8-track a LOT.
ZZ Top is solid. Just prior to the corona they played this smaller city outdoor concert. Big storm came out of nowhere. Driving rain. They stayed on stage . The venue organizers postponed the concert 4 times. They evacuated the park due to weather . High winds lightning. ZZ Top waited and came back out each time. True professionals.

Lex, you are spot on when you said this has an 80s dance club feel to it. LaGrange was done in the 70s and after a long hiatus by the band, they came back in the 80s with a completely different sound. A lot of us felt like they sold out to mainstream MTV producers just to sell a ton of records, and it did. I can't blame them for wanting to make a buck though.
