I bought the model that only has one blade and the slower charger. Your review is pretty spot on. I can cut my lawn using either 2 or 3 bars of 4 on the battery. My concern is with the slower charger if the battery is less robust down the road it might be a problem. My striping isn’t as dynamic as yours, but I did buy this to get stripes and it’s okay. Cut quality with the single blade seems very good, so happy with that. Maybe it’s a little more expensive than the competition?
Thank you for your time and effort in showing this mower in the wild. I feel Toro has been sitting on their hands regarding promoting this product, taking forever to get it out to influencers like you for an honest review for consumers. While Toro was doing nothing since this unit’s release in April to promote it, I consumed enough videos on E-mower comparisons to resolve a Milwaukee with my current Toro Stripe System (on my 22” gas Recycler) would be my way forward for me into the E-Mower market. I’m pretty sure it will mean rear side discharge will not happen, but the Milwaukee certainly has best in-class power and speed, as well as ample battery run-time to make mulching my average sized suburban yard manageable. Bought the Milwaukee via Ohio Power Tools current flash sale, and am hoping to see it on my porch by tomorrow. Love your reviews and quality production. Hope you have an enjoyable Spring and Summer!
I just got the single blade model today, but it's been raining here in Houston today. I'm interested to see how the cut quality compares to my 60v Recycler
I bought a 60V Toro electric mower 2 years ago. When I first got it, I could mow my entire lawn with just the 60 Volt battery, now it barely mows half of my lawn. Replacement batteries cost almost as much as the equipment! Unless you want to spend tons of money replacing batteries, stick with gas.
If you want more proof of why gas is better than battery for mowers, just look at the warranties: Gas Mowers: 3 years Gas Engines: 4 years Battery 90 days Parts and Labor 91 days to 365 days Parts only They know their batteries suck. You're buying a 1 season mower. Stick with gas.
your hat 4:13 says "STRIPE NoConnecTurf "? Enjoyed this, very well done, u covered more than anyone I know, u explained the striper bar bends the grass blades that helps us that never knew such a thing existed - which I did not know.
I'm happy you enjoyed the review. Yes, my hat is the STRIPE hat from No Coast Turf, one of my favorites right now lol. Lawn stripes are made from the stripe mechanism bending the grass blades. The visibility of the stripes in the lawn is strongly dependent on the direction of the sun in relation to your stripes. All quite fun to learn. Thanks for watching.
@@ricardogarza5635 hi. I haven’t done an update on the mower but have used it plenty. The biggest issue I’ve had is that a wheel came off 😳 Yep, definitely crazy! I have a short about that incident. Seemed to be a busted washer because since replacing the washer it hasn’t happened again.
If the bag gets full will the mower tip out of balance? Since it is rear wheel drive, is it easy to maneuver this mower forward and backward when changing directions?
The mower has never tipped for me with the battery in. The battery gives more weight to the front deck. In the video there was no battery in the mower. I realized that a bit after the fact. It is extremely easy to maneuver in all cases, including around my trees.
Did i miss the price? Or did they send it? Glad to see extra blade. I had to go back to gas. My 60 recycler just wasnt powerfull enough to mulch my TTTF. I do miss the quietness and lack of fluids to deal with tho.
Would you say it's too light? My lawn is pretty rough and uneven still and my old light mowere sometimes was so light the front wheels were almost bouncing. This obviously makes for a terrible cut if the blade is constantly almost lifting off the grass.
Please try a Milwaukee M18. You will never look back. I did see this mower in depot and it hinestlybfelt like a toy. $579 is a bit steep to be honest for what you get. The Cobalt 40v. Is on sale for $299 and feels very solid. Seriously, purchase the M18 and you will love it. I'm not an influencer but wanted to tell you real world real money experience.
No thanks. I appreciate that you like it as much as you do and I’m not questioning that it’s a good mower. I am providing a review of the Stripe here for anyone who is interested. You obviously are not and that is fine. See how I’m not judging you or your choices? Maybe you could think about doing the same.
So, What’s your verdict? Is a buy or no buy? Actually, I am glad you have the one I plan to purchase in the near future. Looking forward to your review. Thanks for your RUclips videos 😊
I think deciding on a mower is really user specific. I'm short, so I really like that the handle adjustment is more comfortable. I LOVE that I don't have to put a kit on and off of it and that's it's easy to maneuver. Also, I think I'll be able to stripe all season. Battery life is good, the cut is great, the unit is light...all things that are appealing to me. Some may think it's too light or the battery door isn't sturdy enough or the stripes aren't deep enough...I mean, it's really all in what you want from a mower.
@@GirLzLawn Thank You so Much for your response. Reading your perspective review, I would say “ YES” I do like the mower. I have to concur with you, that I do like the idea of seasonal stripping of the grass. Thank You 🙏🏾 once again. Have a blessed one. Keep up the informative RUclips channel.
The Super Recycler doesn’t have a mulching blade because of its deck design. A bagging style blade is used because it send the grass up to the kickers.
Great video! I am a gas yard tool fan. But my guess will be my next mower will be electric. Which of the two Toros, cuts better, or feels like it has more power?
@@GirLzLawn understand but I am staying with gas power. These batteries are just way too expensive. 40 minutes per cut plus hours to recharge the battery. Not for me.
I heard the battery life is terrible 30 minutes and over 4 hours to charge I live on a corner and have a big front and backyard. I would have to charge the battery 4 times. NOT WORTH IT. Good review.
So I just got this mower yesterday. We threw the battery on the charger for an hour right out of the box. I live on a corner lot over 1200 sq ft front yard and it cut the whole front with still 3 of the 4 bars left on the battery! Our back yard is slightly smaller and was able to do that right after with 2 bars still left.
DO NOT BUY THIS MOWER IF YOU HAVE ST AUGUSTINE GRASS!! I just got the model with the single blade. I tried it on my front yard first. The cut quality was poor and there was zero striping in the grass. Both this and my 60v recycler have a listed max blade height of 4 inches, but it was obvious from looking at them next to each other that the stripe mower was a bit higher. I figured that I probably just needed to let the grass grow into the mow. A week later, I tried it on my backyard, which was 6 inches by then. The mower had no problem cutting the thick grass. It never stalled or slowed down, even in the higher parts. The cut quality was still poor, and there was no striping at all. The "key" popped off while I mowed, and I have not been able to find it. Eventually I realized you can just stick a screwdriver or a stick in the keyhole, so I lowered the wheel height by one notch, even though ST Augustine is best cut at 4 inches, minimum. The cut quality was much better at the lower height, but it still didn't stripe my yard. I really like my 60v Recycler, which I've had for 3 years, but this mower is a big disappointment. I've seen several videos of it striping lighter grass like Bermuda, but it doesn't seem up to the challenge of St Augustine.
I would have to agree that this is likely not a good option for St. Augustine grass. St. Augustine is not known to be a striping grass to start and none of the kits stripe it well either. I'm getting good cut quality from my Stripe and decent striping, considering there is not heavy roller hitting the ground and laying the blades.
Toro should be ashamed of this mower. I love my Toro's for over 25 years but this one is terrible ! I mowed maybe 50 feet with it and returned it the next day !

They will get to the one point adjustment soon lol
It lays some good looking stripes!
It actually does a good job and doesn’t compress the grass blades so much.

I purchased a steel frame Toro electric mower 2 years ago, and I am pleased with it. I wonder how it would hold up with a striper.
Likely well. I have the Super Recycler and the Lawn Stryper kit works well on it.

Finally. A good review on this mower. But i went with the SR. How does this compare to the Ego?
It has a lot of the convenient features like my Ego but edges it out with the built-in striping, quieter and lighter.
I Was excited about the Stripe but the Super Recycler is going to be hard to beat. Are you still running the Gator Blade on it ?
Yes, I still swap out to the Gator sometimes.

Concerning the new super recycler 21 inch. Do you believe the older models like #21386 is a better quality mower or not. Please advise. Thanks!
I don't have experience with the older models, so I wouldn't be very helpful here.
This is the best video of this mower ive seen. Im literally only buying it because it looks like a Lamborghini 😂
😂 I think you will like it. I can deal with the slow self propel.
Do you lower the back wheels for the mower to strip
@@glennhandley9866 no, I don’t. All wheels set the same height.
oh how i wish Hayter would ship mowers to the US!
👍🏽
Which so you prefer the recycler or the stripe? Thanks
I reach for the Stripe more because it is lighter but they both give a good cut. The Recycler gives a better cut because of the weight.
Got any insider information on when the etimemaster is coming out?
Nah, no idea. That’s going to be an interesting drop.
I seen you have two different toro mowers , with does a better job?
I've had the recycler, the super recycler and the stripe. If you are 5'4 or taller, the super recycler is definitely the best one.
