    I'm looking into getting into the electric line of yard products, and it seems like Toro is the easiest company to find servicing for.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  4 месяца назад +1

      I think so too and they feel more natural than most of the other brands with the electric motor for the drive type. I tried the EGO and the Echo but still like the toro better. I like the Super Recycler a bit better since it has the turbo button and cuts beautiful but a few dollars more. Still do your research before you enter into battery. I do have the EGO blower, trimmer and weed eater. They perform well. A good idea is to have multiple batteries to work with so if getting into battery products try to get all the same to be able to use the multiple battery platform or jut buy more batteries. thanks

    Great video! I purchased the Toro battery Super Recycler and the Stihl Battery mowers last season. I decided to keep the Toro because (in my opinion), the Toro performance was better than the Stihl mower. I do have other Stihl battery products, but the Toro mower is the only battery product I own in that brand.

      I am glad you like it. I also have the Super Recycler and I am about to review and kind of want to keep both of the Toro's they look awesome. The Super Recycler 60V is new and cant wait to use it. I also have the Echo and the EGO which the EGO is not my cup of tea. I do have the EGO blower, Trimmer and the weed eater with the attachments and really like it but not the mower feels like a toy.

    I used to have the older ego without self propel. I got this toro and it's a good mower. The things I miss, the weight or lack of, and the one lever to adjust wheel hieghts instead of this 70s system. I'm hoping toros next will be a plastic hybrid superrecyler with one lever for height and I would def. purchase that one.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Год назад

      Hello I know Toro has that old school lever but they just came out with the Stripe which I think has one lever and some of the newer ones that dont have the personal pace that have one lever for the front and one for the rear. I guess little by little they are doing some changes. Its a bit annoying to do all the 4 wheels every time but what can you do. One thing I do see is that the new ones dont have the mulch recycle lever which I love. I dont like putting the plug adapter. I had an EGO lawn mower but sold it I didnt like the feel of it and the drive was horrible kept jumping up. The Toro has a natural feel to it just like a gas powered one. thanks

    Folding the handle down is kinda useless if the bag is on it, if you put the bag somewhere else, you're still taking up the same space, so no point having the folding handle, not a point of difference imo.
    Good review though, seems honest and from a guy who has actually used it for some time.

    I have the snow blower with same battery. I’m tempted to go with this mower and have two batteries. The snow blower is amazing. Utah this winter gave it a good workout. Toro makes a higher priced unit which omits the switch for mulching. Not sure why they went back to shoving an adapter in. If the mower matches in performance it should be great. I’m waiting for the rep to allow me to demo before buying. Thank’s for the review

      Hello there is a new one that has the LED model 21467 or the 21468 just like this one that comes with the 7.5 Ah battery which gets that extra cutting time. I do feel that installing the mulch plug is ridiculous since I have lots of leaves I need to have it on demand. How do you get to try it out before you buy it. Thank you

    The front baffle under the deck on the Recycler has a "bumped-out" section that does not exist on the Super Recycler or most other mowers What is the purpose of that shape? I notice when I pull my recycler backwards that it always leaves a pile of clippings on the lawn. I also notice that the front baffle on Recycler does not extend down as far as the rest of the deck does. Is there grass shooting under the baffle in front or getting caught in the the baffle "notch" on my Recycler that is causing the dropped clippings when pulling backwards?

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  10 месяцев назад

      Hello I am not sure about the notch section for the Recyclers purpose but I am thinking for better mulching. You are correct the Super Recycler doesnt have that section its smooth. I dont like the fact that it collects grass like I mentioned in the video. I think it should be either sealed so grass doesnt get caught on there. I dont get clumps of grass that fall out when going on reverse that I have noticed. I usually overlap my cuts and dont cut on wet days. I will pay attention on my next cut to see if that happens. thank you

    • @GlennMcKeon-n5s
      @GlennMcKeon-n5s 10 месяцев назад

      I am doing an experiment by making 2 new front baffles for my Recycler. Both will be smooth, without the notch. One will be the same width (depth) as the stock one and the other will extend 1/2" lower to the ground to be equal to the rest of the deck. Will see how that goes in the spring when the lawn starts to grow again.@@ExtremDIY

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  10 месяцев назад

      Cool I was thinking after you mentioned that section being shorter it can be so tall grass falls into the cutting area of the blade. I was going to add silicone to the baffle so the grass dont get caught there which drives me crazy. Let me know how it works out. I like my Toro but removed the personal pace to their simple lever they have and I like it much better.

    • @mellowjammer
      @mellowjammer 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes,
      I added silicone to the seam (small gap) between the front baffle and the deck on the outside of the cutting area and it obviously helped to keep grass from getting lodged in there. I did it about halfway through the summer of 2022 and it has held up very well so far. @@ExtremDIY

      I was able to cut the entire yard 7500 sq ft and had some left for my house. Grass was very high. I also have the gas powered version of this mower and is great but very loud compared to this. I will take the 60v and sell the gas soon. The quiet experience is just fantastic for me. I have the Super Recycler I am going to review in a few weeks along with the EGO and the Echo mowers and will decide which one stays. that Super Recycler looks amazing cant wait to tested out. They have a 7.5 amp battery if you need the extra power. Toro also has the new stipe with more run time with a 20 inch deck.

    I bought a super recycler and i find toro to have the worst customer service i have ever experienced. They sent me a super recycler with a right front tire that doesnt even touch the ground, right out of tbe box. Instead of just replacing something that was obviously manufactured wrong, they want me to drive a 2 hour roundtrip to get warantee repairs, despite their warantee appearing to state it has to be returned directly to toro.
    Their phone customer service people were nice and tried to answer my questions, but they just dont know much about their product.
    I have had ebay scam artists steal my money and make it a more pleasant experience.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  Год назад

      Yeah sometimes that happens with companies its very frustrating. I have heard when you drop off your Toro at a dealer it can be a long process. I got mine at Homedepot and I usually fix my own things for that exact reason. Lots of times I modify things to my liking but we all have our things we do. Sorry to hear you went through that and was it the wheel height adjustment that got stuck? I have seen reviews where the wheels fall of the mower after a week. Every time I get a product I usually go through an inspection to make sure all the bolts are tighten. You never know if you get that one that was built on a Monday...lol. Hope they fix it so you can cut along. I also got the super recycler ready for a review and super exited to use it.

    • @davidsummers9250
      @davidsummers9250 Год назад +1

      @@ExtremDIY nope. Took it out of box. Did whag little assembly therr was. Set all 4 wheels to the same heights, according to the notches on the height settings and the right from wheel isnt ok the ground.
      Either they drilled a hole to mount it wromg or the deck itself isnt right.
      Was planning to buy a snowblower from them closer to Fall, but with this experience, think i may pass on that idea.

    1) That is the smallest 7,500 square foot yard I've ever seen. I have 12,000 sq ft of grass, and it takes me roughly 1:20 minutes to mow (gas powered Super Recycler). Maybe the entire lot is 7,500 sqft, but once you subtract the driveway, the house, the patio, and the sidewalk, the yard is much smaller?
    2) $250 for a 6amp battery that lasts a little over 27 minutes? You've gotta be f-ing kidding me! I'm going to pay $1000 for the mower and 2 extra batteries just to finish my yard! Never mind all of these anecdotal accounts of batteries lasting between 1 and 3 years.

    • @ExtremDIY
      @ExtremDIY  2 месяца назад

      I see your point of view. I have 2 gas Toro mowers and 2 battery ones. They both have positive and negative. This is my dads home in my house I have 11,000 sq. ft and one 5 amp doesnt finish the entire lot but the 60V super recycler is just a sweet thing to cut with. So I just got for review the new Recycler Max and its got the wheel bearings and the handle bushings from the Super Recycler and love this thing. Gas powered with the 163cc B&S which I love. The other Recycler I have has the 150cc but lacks power. I am keeping the SR 60V and the Recycler Max so will sell the rest.
