(Moira Ashton) Well I thoroughly enjoyed this video, I am a 78 yr old widow, living in a little town in Spain, and it gets REALLY cold in the Winter, so I already have three lovely fluffy blankets,, a friend knitted me a beautiful bright pink one in Moss stitch for Christmas, I have the little lights, on the mantlepiece, the only thing I don't have, are little lights along my headboard on my bed!!! BUT - I DO HAVE little lights I can put along it, just never thought about it!!! Thank you for the idea!!! I just LOVE cosying up in my bed with my Kindle before going to sleep, tomorrow, I will be putting lights along my headboard!!! Happy New Year from chilly Spain!!! 💗🥰🥰
YES! all colored christmas lights work great too! you can hang them on your headboard, over your window, your dresser mirror, or around your bookcase to name a few places. it creates a warm & colorful ambiance! best buy i ever made....an electric blanket. in the winter, i put it on low before i go to bed & it makes the sheets all warm & welcoming too! oh! & flannel sheets...mmmm...so soft!
I feel the most hyggely when I've been out shoveling snow or braving the weather with a brisk walk with my little dog Max huddled inside my coat, and I come back inside, change into clean, dry, snuggly clothes and thick socks, and brew some hot spiced tea, and cuddle with my Max beside a flickering candle, and I feed him treats 💕
It's when our beloved 6-moths-old goes to sleep at 8 PM, and I light up a candle, pick a book, make a tea and just seat there with my husband enjoying the reading and a silence. As simple and as hugge as it gets :) Greetings from Alaska and thanks for another cozy video!
You are my new fav channel! I am Swedish & love Hygge! Each morning I have a Hygge routine, I light candles, write in my journal, I have a bird bath & several bird feeders in front of my window, I watch all types of birds come to my feeding stations. I always have a hot coffee, incense & I listen to spiritual meditations by warm candle light. I focus on the positive to start each day!
Hygge I incorporate is books, candles, sherpa blankets and ambience music. The natural hygge in my home are laughing children, cats purring and a crackling fireplace. I am blessed ❤
I am lucky enough to live in DEVON ENGLAND IN A 12 CENTURY COTTAGE, THAT IS HYGGE WITHOUT EVEN TRYING...🏡.. IT GIVES ME A WARM HUG, EVERYTIME I WALK THROUGH THE DOOR...🏡.. MY GRANDCHILDREN CALL IT GRANNIES MAGIC COTTAGE..🏡. THEY LOVE TO COME FOR CHRISTMAS WITH THE LOG FIRES AND FAIRY LIGHTS INSIDE AND OUT...🏡... I HAVE GRATITUDE FOR MY LIFE EVERYDAY..... AND YES I HAVE PEACE HERE WITHIN THESE FOUR WALLS.🏡😘 ❤️
Whichever essential oil I am in the mood for. My 3 long haired dogs and one short haired. It is always hugge with them. Comfort food or hot rolls with honey or maple syrup. Sometimes looking thru ideas on Pintrest or Sunset Magazine. Looking thru old photos. Sometimes a good movie.
You remind me of my granddaughter she chatters away like you do..... it's very endearing listening to you it's infectious your enthusiasm is charming..... I love your channel... Simple living high thinking...HAPPY NEW YEAR MY DEAR 😍🎉❤️💋🎊
Delightful! Personally I love light and books. Momentos from my travels, art. Pieces of my journey. A blessing to watch your journey Helena. Many blessings for 2021 and beyond!
Yes!! I resonate with everything you said. I have log walls and love the cozy darkness , the rooms like little rabbit Warren's. I use oil lamps, essential oil diffusers, beautiful blue and white China for tea .pillows on all my porch chairs and quilts in the hammock and more! Cozy is magical and makes every day a. Joy.
Apparently I started living this lifestyle w/out realizing it. 😉 I had started changing out my bulbs to amber color awhile ago, blankets around the house, fuzzy socks, slippers, hot chocolate, candles, etc, etc. My home has a lot of warm jewel tones and wood, so overall it's always a hug. Great video, thanks for sharing!
Oh my goodness, you dear girl!! This is my first introduction to you and I'm staying! Your energy is delightful and I so appreciate your message!! I am excited to catch up with more of your videos! I am 56 and you have inspired me to stop and breathe! Thank you!! Have a Happy New Year!! Be safe!! :)
I like the mix of old and new pieces. Especially antiques. I think I've been practicing Hygge all my life without realizing it LOL. My problem of de-plugging...I love watching cozy vlogs on YT. Ha ha ha
I've practiced hygge my entire life, before I ever knew it was a "thing"... Cozy comfort has always been essential for me as a HSP, whether it be subtle lighting, soft fabrics or a calm ambience in general.
You home is so cosy with those warm tones lights. I love my home dark with warm candlelight reflection in the background. I love cosying up in a corner, reading with a cup of tea under the blanket. So you can tell how much I love this video. Thanks for sharing xx
What a fantastic video! Since I've freed up my life by not working for others any longer, that really has increased the peace element for me big time. Talk about a mental health boost! I've turned to writing and I live in the perfect place for it. I hear you about the wood in a home. I love the look and aroma of wood. I was lucky enough to snag an A Frame overlooking a small lake just outside of my small hometown in southwestern Nova Scotia. It's a rental in a line with 9 other A Frames and the community here is great. So peaceful with deer in the front and back all the time, trees everywhere and pure heaven for me. I moved back from the US in 08 after living most of my life there. I grew up in Miami, Fla. Moving back home was another major mental health boost! No overhead lighting here either and I wouldn't use them anyway. I use small lamps. My small galley kitchen has over the sink and over the stove lights. I have red plaid curtains that really cozy up the place and blankets that I've crocheted on my couch and chairs. My style is as rustic as I can get it. Candles, incense, plants, and since there is no woodstove here I have a little fake black fireplace space heater that I use before the real cold sets in and I have to turn on the electric heat. I created a small library of real books under my staircase. A Frames are known for NO storage space and just generally being small inside which makes it even more cozy. My favorite time of day is when I climb in between my flannel sheets with whatever book I'm reading at the time and fall into a blissful sleep. I love winter.
Love this. Completely agree about avoid trends and finding your own sense of calm. Look and feel for your style to make your home calm you through all of your senses. What brings you joy when you look around definitely leaves you restored and relaxed. I know I'm a better wife, mother and friend because my home life fuels me. Take care and may you continue to be blessed in 2021. ✨
I stumbled across your channel and I'm so glad I did. I love it. I just love being cosy it's my favourite thing when I'm at home lightning my candles and switching on the twinkly fairy lights and soft lighting. I love going on a winter walk wrapped up with the winter sunshine on my face then coming home to the warmth and putting on my cosy Pjs and fluffy socks 😊 your channel is just my cup of tea😁😁
I love the hygge lifestyle! I was doing this before I knew there was the term hygge. I change it up some according to the season. Maybe we could share spring and summer ideas!
Love the concept of simple living and the coziness and comforts of home. 💕 Here in SW Florida, we are still running our A/C some so that’s a little different. In the evenings, I turn down the lights and enjoy low lighting for relaxing. I think the whole being present mindset is necessary given the explosion of the internet and the need to unplug. Thanks for sharing. 💕 God bless!
Hi Helena, it was lovely to see your pretty leafy Anne of Green Gables! Thought it simply enchanting when in my teens and even now. And Jane Eyre too, & Jane Austen books: all cozy hygge books we girls love. And yes, the right lighting can create a fairyland in your parlour! I used to cozy up with my beloved hubby on beautiful evenings, rainy or otherwise, lighting candles, reading and writing cozy animal stories🦉🌲🌙
Growing up we lived a hygge life and just called it cozy , homey comforting home. I still have a cozy home.I do not think we have to use someone elses words to decribe living happy in your home.I love my electric wood heater. It looks and feels so real. Grat for those who do not have a real fire going. My books and throws.hot drinks and music.and the comfort of having warm foid and hopefully someone who loves you
Funny enough, many NYC apartments don’t come with overhead lighting in the living spaces. Two of my apartments didn’t, like Carrie’s, so I had to do lamps. I only use overhead lights in the kitchen and bathroom.
Upon watching your video I realize that I’ve always turned my apartments into peaceful Hygge environments 🤗... earth colors, lovely fabrics, warming scents, wooden items above all, a very peaceful vibe. Many thanks for your lovely videos! 🙏🏻🌷
I found some beautiful goats milk soaps and shampoo bars and they are pine needle and peppermint, I bought myself a selection of soaps all made by this farm all natural and this makes me feel so content when I use them for myself and my daughters
What a hygge video!! I love it! The wood floor I'm so jealous! That's one of my favorite hygge material for sure! A wooden floor, cozy socks, and fluffy blanket!! what a great day!
I love your tips and your house really looks cozy. I think putting my focus back on the textures/smells has really helped, instead of just having these things around and, as you said, taking them for granted. I am saving up for a record player at the time! Have a great start into the new year!
Now I'm very curious why you're against vision boards :) I have been incorporating hygge in my life by going on walks and bringing back a chestnut or a pine cone often and having these natural elements in my home brings a good feeling but also it satisfies my need for "collecting" like a magpie and knowing I can always return them to nature without creating waste
I’ve mentioned about why I don’t care for vision boards in my video I’ve included in the card of this video (when I mentioned vision boards) but I have a video I’m planning to make going deeper into it 🥰 this sounds so wonderful!! ✨✨🌱💕
Vision boards work so well for me to the point I was given the exact car on my board and a space on a trip to England opened up and I had the $ already set aside just waiting. Its actually time to take off the pictures of what has occurred and put new ones on. I love my board.
Fuzzy SOCKS! 🤩 hahaha I immediately put mine on. This was a wonderful video and brought me all the hygge vibes! If I may suggest some ideas for future videos: ways to give yourself grace on hard days / in hard seasons of life, your favorite happy things or your favorite books, vlogs... 🥰
Great video as always, just watching it made me feel cozy 😍 I really love going for a walk when it's a bit cold and crisp, taking time to enjoy nature and then when it's getting dark, coming back to my house, get warm and lazy!
I just found your channel and I'm just very inspired by you! I really want to look at my ideal life this year and make it a reality. I've been wanting to incorporate coziness, simplicity, mindfulness, and just more magic into my daily routine, and your videos are really getting me motivated. Thank you!
It's a lovely scenario, very simple and cozy way of living in France ! Real joys are in a simple life yet in a kind of life which is quite different ! Loved watching the video and hearing from a wonderful person like you ! God bless you ! ✋😃
We live in small apt with a balcony and even in the winter if it is a nice day we sit outside and drink something hot. I have some handmade quilts from my mother and to wrap up on a Saturday afternoon and just be is a favorite thing i try to think about childhood memories that make me laugh or was a warm fuzzy feeling, then write about it. Thanks for sharing
My way of bringing hoga into my home is with color. I have color on the walls, I'm looking around and each room is a different color. I live in a condo and it's only 1000 feet square feet. I love art so I have pictures and hats and pots and baskets. I'm one last thing I'm so glad I found you you have the most wonderful way of making me feel like I'm normal.😚
I am so overjoyed that I found your beautiful channel! I LOVED the activity portion of this video. This is what I've been very mindful of practicing this winter.
Thank you very much 🙏🙏 I like JAPANESE way of life very much, My huegge lifestyle is: In my rom, I have Japanese wooden Alcove with a scroll ( Japanese painting ) and a small flower arrangement in a porcelain vase ,
Your home indeed looks cosy! Personally I hate caffeine, so when it comes to hot drinks, I go for herbal teas. Herbal teas are more tasty and more calming.
This is way lovely video! Thank you so much for your personable and cozy intro to Hygge, and how you organize your home to make it comfortable and Hygge! 🤗☕🍂🪶🍁📖💐
My husband's from Texas but we live here in England. Happy to 'meet you'. I love the idea of gardening year round...we only get a tiny window of warmth April/May to September but I also love chilly weather, snow and twinkling frost to make me feel calm and cosy indoors.
@@WyrdHag I don't think Monica was obsessing. I got the impression she's recognising the strong emotional link she has to the elements of the video and aspects of her own life. Perhaps I'm wrong, but I definitely didn't get any sense of obsession or fascination from her comment.
@@WyrdHag I see, but being married to an American I think he'd probably take offence and consider your comment potentially disrespectful. I think comments on videos can become hurtful and blinkered very quickly and easily in a time when we all need more tolerance and respect in our lives. It's hard to see. When you have lived all over the world and are familiar with many cultures it's important to value each person and place as the individual entity they are. I can see by your reply you didn't intend any harm.
I think I have a Hygga life. I love Cody and lovely and comfortable surroundings. I like bing by my self, knitting or writing and plenty of computer Tim.. to much so some days a. I like simple meals and delightful moments. Coffee in the morning reading and journaling and knitting. Noonish I get to work for a few hours and that is all I need to keep up on my home. Yes I need to off load plenty of “stuff”. Bit by bit, I am getting there. I don’t seem to be in a rush for much of any thing.
Well, there you go. I’m American, but 25% Danish. My grandfather came from Denmark when he was three. It’s interesting that the term hygge comes from Denmark.
Interesting... you’re suggesting everything I’m doing at this moment 🥰 I’ve always been this way and I’m happy to see hygge fully appreciated ♥️ Also, I had my copy of Anne of Green Gables in my hands earlier! Love your channel ☕️
I put on a steaming fire place and put my flannel pjs on and sit up in bed with every part of my body supported by pillows. Then maybe yoga niedra or sipping golden milk and reading a book. Your body will totally relax because all the relaxation and sleep cues are on. When I’m home after dark the jammies are on, bathrobe for warmth and one or hot bags, homemade cotton bags filled with rice and heated in the microwave. Zzzzzz
I was Hyggeing and not knowing. I just knew it felt good. I would light several candles at night with no over head light. Drink hot cocoa all the while. And eat homemade pumpkin cake. And color by numbers, which is new to me
Just recently subscribed to your channel and I am enjoying it very much. As you have mentioned, you don’t need to spend a fortune to achieve this feeling. Fairy lights, candles, wooden furniture, re cycled items from the op shop all help. I avoid watching so called influencers that spend money like it is no issue with constant buying just for the sake of it or to promote a brand and at the same time push environmental sustainability.
Why are you against vision boards ? Lol just curious 🤨 I just made one as I've been studying manifestation ! One think I've been doing is once dinner is done , house is tidy I light candles in each room as a symbol to relax , calm down & be thankful for another day ! It brings such a cozy & peaceful vibe !!
In the video i include a card in which I describe in another video I’ve made earlier this year....vision boards are focused on “doing” things and “having” stuff and on this channel I really promote this lifestyle of “being” fully present because it’s been such a huge part of me finding inner peace and fulfillment from within rather than finding happiness in things outside of myself. I’m planning to make another video going deeper into it soon! This sounds so lovely and peaceful Kathryn! Love it 🥰💕💕🙌
Continued: a wooden Seagull ( Danish Kay Bojesen make ) in the corner of room, Japanese doll, small glass miniature animals brought from Tokyo, wooden set of five ducklings, Origami cranes and other handicrafts brought from Kyoto. And low level lighting 🙂

Please keep making more Hygge videos, ihave been practing Hyygge for awhile but didnt know what it was call until about a year ago
Love this Catherine!! So great to connect with you
I am so overjoyed that I found your beautiful channel! I LOVED the activity portion of this video. This is what I've been very mindful of practicing this winter.
Thank you very much 🙏🙏
I like JAPANESE way of life very much,
My huegge lifestyle is: In my rom, I have Japanese wooden Alcove with a scroll ( Japanese painting ) and a small flower arrangement in a porcelain vase ,
Intentionally celebrating the experience of living!
Thank you, that hit home. This is something i can apply.
Lovely video and great ideas. Happy new year to you
Helena loved your video very much. It was a pleasure to watch. ✨✨
Your home indeed looks cosy!
Personally I hate caffeine, so when it comes to hot drinks, I go for herbal teas. Herbal teas are more tasty and more calming.
that's great! :)
merry Christmas ❤️❤️❤️ And a Happy New Year.... May 2021 Brings more joy and happiness to your life...
This is way lovely video! Thank you so much for your personable and cozy intro to Hygge, and how you organize your home to make it comfortable and Hygge! 🤗☕🍂🪶🍁📖💐
Happy hygge! Here in Texas I garden year round and bringing my herbs in to cook with or make bath salts or cooking bouquets is very hygge to me.
My husband's from Texas but we live here in England. Happy to 'meet you'. I love the idea of gardening year round...we only get a tiny window of warmth April/May to September but I also love chilly weather, snow and twinkling frost to make me feel calm and cosy indoors.
Happy hygge literally means "happy cozy". Why are Americans obsessing over a word they don't understand? It's not a holiday or something. 🤣
Hello from wintery Austin Texas 🤘🏼
Your videos are absolutely wonderful. Thank you so much.😍
Wonderful video! Shared a link with my Hygge Facebook group :)
Oh cool!!! Thank you 💕✨
I think I have a Hygga life.
Love this channel! Love this video! Thank you 🙏
I work in the Emergency room, I need these ideas
Well, there you go. I’m American, but 25% Danish. My grandfather came from Denmark when he was three. It’s interesting that the term hygge comes from Denmark.
I’m French and i love your channel... i subscribe and enjoy !!! 🙏💫🌸🌿
welcome!!! thank you for your support :)
Koselig! (Norwegian hygge)
In Tromsø, Norway the sun doesn’t rise above the horizon for 2,5 months. We hibernate and cultivate koselig 🥰
A very lovely visit❣️thank you
Helena ❤️❤️❤️❤️ I love this so much! This is the way I aspire to live my life😊 thank you for such a beautiful video!
Lovely video and I love your lipstick - it really suits you x
Interesting... you’re suggesting everything I’m doing at this moment 🥰 I’ve always been this way and I’m happy to see hygge fully appreciated ♥️ Also, I had my copy of Anne of Green Gables in my hands earlier! Love your channel ☕️
How wonderful!! Kindred spirits
Kitties are hygge too! 🐈
Love your channel! And the lippie looks great on you.
Zzzzzz
ah this sounds so delightful!! Love this Leila!
I was Hyggeing and not knowing. I just knew it felt good. I would light several candles at night with no over head light. Drink hot cocoa all the while. And eat homemade pumpkin cake. And color by numbers, which is new to me
I have found you at just the perfect time sister! Much Love
Who knew? I've been living a Hygee LIfe forever...great video !
I just discovered you, your channel is heaven! :) Greetings from Croatia
Ohmygosh yes!! I so agree!
i love your energy so much 🥰🥰🥰
❤❤ love all these ideas thank you
Why are you against vision boards ?
Love it 🥰💕💕🙌
The Dutch invented it before I think. It's called "Gezellig". I find that they are the true masters :)
amazing!! I'll do some research! Love to learn :)
Yes light is a must ✨😌
Quelle jolie vidéo hygge merci beaucoup meilleure année que celle qui vient de se terminer.
Love the video...thanks!
