Drivers were getting robbed at Red Lights, so my Dad started carrying his Colt on him. One night it was Foggy, and Dad stopped at a light. He saw this guy cross over his trailer draw bar and he was sneaking up on the drivers side of the truck. Dad pulled out his gun and when the dude popped up next to the window Dads Colt was pointed right at the dudes Forehead. Dad asked him if he needed anything? The guy said he was wondering what time it was. Dad told him it was time for him to get off his truck before he Blew his Fucking head off. The guy didnt say a word. He jumped off the truck and started running the other way. True Story.

At Clint's age he knows how to play cool, tough old guys, like in "Unforgiven","Cry Macho", and this movie. He's still the same Clint Eastwood from the Dollars Trilogy spaghetti westerns of the 60s all the way up to the more recent cinemas, just older.

Maybe knives and pepper spray is good for people who can’t legally carry guns. But there’s a reason Clint’s character pulled out a gun and not a knife.
I have never enjoyed a movie more. Saw it in the theatre when it came out, then we went back the next day and saw it again. I live in the sticks and the theatre was almost an hour and a half away. Parents took us to see the spaghetti westerns at the drive in when they came out. Clint’s 94 now and won’t last forever. That’ll be a major bummer but what a life he’s had. He and Jimmy Stewart are at the top of the pinnacle, for me.
Really great message in this movie. Everyone was hating on the Asians, but they ended up being friends with the old man, and other characters in the story.
The whole message of the movie is that the old guy realized his whole life was a mistake….and the only people that accepted him were people that had no history or knowledge of him being a total asshole.

About 10 years ago I wandered into the WRONG part of St. Louis after visiting for a wedding. Got into a fight with my gf at the time and left the reception and wandered off after a bit too many. After a few minutes I found a bar and later a food joint that was still serving hots and burgers at 4am. Both were packed. I was served last at both places, and it felt like it was on purpose. I laughed it off - I was a stranger in a strange land. No one spoke to me in either the bar or the food joint all night. I just minded my business and kind of enjoyed just being a fly on the wall. It was a common thing back in the early 2000s, every white boy was sagging his pants and trying to pretend to be black in my school. 'Bro' was popularized by blacks, probably why I never said or say it. The integration of rap culture into pop culture has been complete for a decade now. But back then, it was common for whites to try to act very black.

At Clint's age he knows how to play cool, tough old guys, like in "Unforgiven","Cry Macho", and this movie. He's still the same Clint Eastwood from the Dollars Trilogy spaghetti westerns of the 60s all the way up to the more recent cinemas, just older.
Cry Macho no, no no no!
He’s too old to try and be tough like that. In the real world those three thugs would have overpowered him when he turned his back on them when he was getting back into his truck.
The best movie Clint ever made! Yet it didn’t win any awards. Deserved best actor and best movie for sure!

That is one of many classic Clint clips. Nice post.
Really great message in this movie. Everyone was hating on the Asians, but they ended up being friends with the old man, and other characters in the story.
The whole message of the movie is that the old guy realized his whole life was a mistake….and the only people that accepted him were people that had no history or knowledge of him being a total asshole.

lived in LA 35 years ago. Was in the wrong part of own after midnight. Everyone, and I do mean everyone gave me and my buddy wide berth because two 6'2" 200lb white dudes with long hair wearing leathers strutting into store like they owned the place had to be the kind of crazy nobody wants to mess with. We got lucky.
I was the only "white guy" I saw the entire night. Look back on it fondly. Probably thought I was crazy, or possibly undercover law.

In real life they would have surely been strapped, and as old and slow as he was in this scene it wouldn't have taken much to overpower him before he was able to pull his weapon. So Clint’s car JUST pulled up to the intersection. And somehow he was able to hear the younger guy call that one guy “BRO”
Script, it's a movie, it's called a scene.
He had the hearing aids on full volume enhance mode
Modern hearing aids are very good and invisible....
I love the movie but have always wondered how really obvious mistakes like this slipped through. Did no-one watch it before it was released?
The thing here is this is truth. If a white man is in a black neighborhood, this is the kind of stuff that happens.
If a black man comes to a white neighborhood we say hello we smile and we have a conversation with them! So, who's the racist?
How common is this in this day and age? I'm sure vast majority of young black people are just chilling, doing normal stuff.

The three young guys were met with someone who would not hesitate to pull the trigger, yet he showed self control, thereby controlling the situation with that .45 auto. Hopefully they took a valuable lesson from this incident (even though it was just a movie).
The scene is all wrong. Clint Eastwood wasn't even there when Scott was saying "bro"... Clint Eastwood arrived to the intersection AFTER the bro scene happened. Movie mistake.
Clint Eastwood knew all about the "bro" stuff because he was directing the movie.
Technically he was, could of heard him across the street while starring at them.
