I'm really excited that the comp will be near by. Finally. I've been going there for years although it has changed tremendously including the name. The climbing community always called it Sand Rock. I was just there the day after Thanksgiving.
Great that you are doing this new series, building on the last one but updating the vehicles. I purchased a Honcho inspired by the Honcho budget build series and I completed my own ground up SCX10ii based Comp crawler last month, so looking forward to competing in 2022 and can't wait for this series, might even drive to Scale Nationals this year to watch and learn.
I look forward to your builds moving forward and I am most excited to see the rear steer getting built and working I have never seen that done before. You guys tend to always bite off more than you should so we will see how it all shakes out
Is that a Tamiya Rm01 behind you?? I can even see the off-white tamiya servo saver haha. I have one with all the tamiya hop ups and the Mazda 787b body.
Well I don't do the comp crawling yet. I think I am going to now though thanks to you and Josh. I also just won a TGH transmission on New Years day from a raffle. So now I have a reason to build one. I think I'm going to go with a G Speed Chassis. I won the transmission from Gabriel Fleming. By the way those axles on the class one look just like the axles I just completed for my Phoenix lol.

This year i am graduating myself to Custom builds. A hardbody Halo Warthog 1/10 Trail Truck that is a toy truck right now, with Class 1 tires it has a good scale look. Then a KAMAZ style DAKAR in the Summer. Maybe a G-rail of some sort, ultra light mini ESC and revolver, or belly dragger. Still have 2 Tamiya car Kits to get me to Spring.
Very nice. I love the jeep cab, someone needs to produce that in lexan. Im using a cut up old ford by axial on my class 3 just so I don't have to do another Power Wagon. Love your vids, I'm stoked about that Sherpa frame. I've been wanting one for a while now. My last comp group kinda fizzled away, but I have a buddy north of me that just joined a crawl club. I'll be heading up to Monroe Wa. to crawl with Die Hard RC. And, PNWRCRC hosts an event monthly all over NW Washington. I'd like to hook up with those guys, but they have a lot of water obstacles. I don't like to get wet, so we'll see. Anyhoo, love your show, looking forward to see them come together. As always, have fun.

Building two class 2 rigs, both Element based. And if we can swing it, will be trying to build two TF2 based class 0/1 rigs as well for the daughter and I to compete together.

Going with a Marlin, what’s the minimum I’d want to get done before I attempt to compete with it? Doing a few of your upgrades and leaf spring hacks from earlier videos as well as clocking the motor. Building to class 0 spec so ordered proline Krawlers to go on the SWB 1.9’s to put on the Marlin. KM2’s going on custom wheels for her YJ.
During the winter I comp in the kitchen I comp in the living room I comp in the garage I comp in the basement I practice my comp stance on the couch and the bed when I comp in the bedroom

@@scalebuildersguild lower cog is always key, looking to get a new rig and thinking of going the scx10.3 early bronco as it comes with straight axles and looks more scale. I got a redcat gen8 and it’s good but way to clumsy and top heavy. I also think build quality is no where near as good as Traxxas or axial.
It is going to be a great series once again I'm sure and will not miss a bit from you or Josh in any way. It would be fun to see you drive an orange🟠 truck competing against Josh from #harleydesigns. Ahaahahha Happy 2022 and may the torque be with you

It’s generally a little different for each build, and I cover the mounting in later episodes. Hard to have a “one way fits all” system. Sorry!

Age old question, straight axle or portals ? Which is the better way to go ?
