Met Kelly in Puerto Rico at a contest when he was 14. The next day, Widerness was huge and Kelly was ripping! He was so small but doing turns that I had never seen before. At that moment, I knew that he would be world champ some day. He has been an inspiration from that day.. Bless up Kelly.

When you consider Slater’s massive talent (and courage in heavy waves) it’s truly inspiring to see how humble and grateful he is, especially when compared to so many others who have a mere fraction of his gifts yet are such arrogant jerks.

Well Kelly is a surfing legend but he's no businessman. His wave pool was smothered with engineers and builders, so besides having input he didn't actually "build" the thing. And as we all know Kelly goes off on bizarre tangents and has weird beliefs ... so NO he is not a CEO and that would be a mistake for the WSL.
