Those were the glorious good times of the yesteryears of the National Day Parade(s). I really missed the grand old dame of the demolished ancient national stadium. Also missing in action these past several years of past NDPs will be the combined schools choir, one of the segments in particular. This year's 2016 National Day Parade takes a more futuristic concept which tells the Singapore's story for the next 50 years and will be held in the new National Stadium which is known to Singaporeans of today as the Sports Hub. Happy National Day 2016 to everyone! Happy 51st birthday to you, Singapore!
Now its getting more expensive for NDPs to be held at National stadium.. National stadium instead shud do live screenongs for future NDPs instead of hosting the parade there itself.

Damn I thought the current salute was a rip off of the Punjaub March because of the British some how. Turns out they probs ripped it off later... Or maybe just a coincidence

The 1989 NDP marked the last time it would be held in the afternoon in the old National Stadium, it would be in preparation for the grand Silver Jubilee NDP of 1990, the last afternoon parade at the Padang.
@@jmramos0109 that means during late MM Lee's premiership the parade was in daytime affairs. Now we have NDP in the evening since ESM Goh and current PM Lee's tenure.
