See, Crime Watch of yesteryears were far more scary than today. Crime Watch today are so tame and pale in comparison from those in the 80s and 90s. These days, Crime Watch look more like regular TV shows than the past gritty documentary-like programs that looked very real. That's what made them so scary.
Yeah, I used to be scared of the programme each time the trailer came out. I was so real and traumatised most of my primary school days. These days, everything is toned down so much due to censorships and stuff. Not to mention crimes these days often deal less with murder but more to white-collar crimes like cyber crimes, etc.
Do you have the other video regarding about the 13 year old secondary 1 student named Ling Peck Hoon who studied at Bukit Panjang Government High School walking to school in the rainy days & then was murdered in October 1991?

just beware after the company's search which reveals a company with big authorized capital but with a $2.00 paid up, it is a red flag and a warning not to do business with such a company. I fell prey to one company in KL, it was a big listed construction company in KL which used several companies with $2.00 paid up capital to make purchases for its flagship company. I was inexperienced then and was never paid for the goods amounting 70K ringgit I supplied. The construction flagship company belonged to a well known Chinese family living in a huge bungalow, the family might not be prosecuted but I believe Karma would not allow such frauds to go unpunished as God had said 'vengeance is mine'. My brother of Earth, that means that Singapore's crime rate is decreasing
So the show is kinda effective
Maybe it is because that olden Singapore had a lot of crimes involving guns. Now guns are banned in Singapore.
