Brilliant! I love the technique of getting the base exposure by using Aperture Priority. I have Godox V1c and it took me months to try and work out how to do HSS flash. I thought that the flash would only work in HSS when mounted onto the camera hotshoe, but as you say in your video-they are well designed and know when faster shutter speeds are being used, even though there are no HSS symbols visible on back of the flash. It works, my wife and I tried it at f1.4 in bright sunlight=perfect exposure. Thanks for some awesome photos too for inspiration.

Hey man I recommend the MagMod mag box pro 42’ it’s super convenient and assembles and breaks down in 20 seconds as well as produces some of the best light I’ve seen. Nice pics !

This happens to me too if I forget to turn off the modeling flash. Everyone you turn on your ad2”” and your remote, it automatically turns on the modeling flash even though your trigger has it off. So you have to manually turn off the modeling flash every time so your flash works as best as it can. With that modeling light on your flash becomes so slow to refresh within handful of flashes taken especially in the heat.
hey mate i hava a camera canon eos r8 im still searching a speed light and trigger. i have 2 choices (430ex iii-rt , Godax v1 for canon) i need your suggestion?
So first off, Godox came out with an awesome touch screen mini trigger that I recommend! amzn.to/3wOusXz then the flash I recommend is this Godox for canon that is lighter then v1 but better and lower priced then the 430ex - amzn.to/4bM6fjF
i bought the same soft box and my ad100pro don't fit in it. am i missing something? cause it look like ad100pro head is the same as your flash youre using
I put in the description for V1 which is the big round head speedlight like the ad100. The first link is a softbox for a regular speedlight. Return that to Amazon and get the second link that says for v1 speedlight. It has the bigger head. I’m deleting the softbox for the regular speedlight in my description now. amzn.to/3tHhb1r
You can use the umbrella for sure! You can do silver umbrella to make your speedlight stronger or if you umbrella is soft white then you can even face it towards your subject. Handful of different ways of using your umbrella.
You welcome. I first had it full 1/1 power when it was sunnier then as the sunset comes in and gets darker my light power would be half and then 1/8 and lower as it gets darker.
You don’t have to for sure. I like grub sometimes since it’ll do a good job just lighting my subject and not light the background too much. More controlled but I like regular softbox too.
Any stand but here’s the trigger you’ll need. This one is the latest and the coolest that has touchscreen. Be sure to pick your camera model: amzn.to/4fN2ugm
My camera allows for a variety of sync speeds to set it at. What would be the reason to set your in-camera sync speed to anything lower than 200? If you set it to 200, then you can still shoot a slower shutter speed. So, why would you set it to say, 1/60?
The reason why you would bring your shutter lower to 60th is incase you want to capture more light in a dark area. Or if you want to capture some light streaks a little.
I've been looking at the Godox V1 and the 860iiiS TTL for Sony along with the XPS trigger. Of the two flashes which one do you prefer? Also, to clarify, are you shooting TTL with the HSS?
HSS will work with TTL but I wouldn’t recommend it because you won’t get the proper lighting that you’re looking for. After using all their speed lights, I like the 860 because it’s smaller. Get the one with the built-in lithium battery. Here’s the Amazon link for your Sony camera amzn.to/457GtDh Also, out of all the wireless triggers that they have, this is my favorite one amzn.to/3OPWnfH
Usually at half power then I just move my softbox closer or further. When the sky is brighter I’m at full power then I lower it as the sky gets darker.
Thanks for asking Ninaa! Here is the link to the softbox amzn.to/3LqbFGN and link to the adapter that holds the speedlight and the softbox together amzn.to/3mQ5WQa
@@CameraToFreedom makes sense. I have the V1 makes all the difference from 560 II but I guess both could be used via a trigger? Also any recommendations for shooting outside beach party at night?
Two options. Use your speedlight facing forward and go TTL and shoot wide open aperture, shutter 60 and iso 400 if not more. Creative style, have two speed lights up on tripods high up opposite of each other and use your remote trigger to get creative lighting shots.

HSS lowers flash output (amount of light the flash puts out by up to 6 stops), reduces battery life, increases flash recycle time, and worst of all, especially in hot weather/direct sun, more quickly overheats the flash. As a person that shot almost exclusively HSS for the last 5 years, it's not worth it. Just use an ND and 1/250s shutter. I have Flashpoint AD200 but went with Profoto B10 [without modifier - you will need the power and easier to remove in PS] now so I can read transmitter LCD and LCD on flash in full sun and it is MORE reliable than the AD200. Why?
