I asked Stetson about his John Wayne hat crease one summer in Binford ND, I wasn't trying to be disrespectful I was just happy to meet him cause I was a fan and we were the same age, should've gotten an autograph of the many times I met him but he simply said, "I wanna be different, everyone is the same" I liked that answer, awesome Man

Our son is named after Stetson Lawrence! March 2017 we found out our little guy, who would be born that July, had Spina Bifida. (A hole in his spine). Before that, we had a name picked out, but didn’t feel strong enough for what we knew our little guy would have to face. April 2017 my husband and I went to the PBR in Tacoma, WA. Our last name is Shepard, we were throwing around the idea of an S name. After watching Stetson ride his bull, (and representing his culture! ) my husband leaned over to me and said, what about Stetson for his name? Went home and looked up Stetson Lawrence. Was impressed by him! And his strength seemed like it would be the perfect strong name to give our little guy! So thank you Stetson Lawrence! For leaving your home and chasing your dreams! And for being someone we are proud to have named our wheelchair rider after! ❤️ Great movie too!
Beautiful story. My sister also has Spina Bifida. She is 40 yrs old. Many doctors told my parents that she wasn't gonna live past 2 yr old. SARAH ANN SMITH showed them. She is the strongest person I know to have survived so many health issues.

Stetson is a great guy. He and some buddies sat behind us at PBR one-time and we took a picture together and joked and laughed. He is very humble.
