What a great trip. Mary is quite the friend and Jim has quite the eye. "So many beautiful rocks." Thanks for taking us along.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am so excited. I found my first Yellowstone River agate today. It is about the size of your agate twins. We are having such a great fall. Beautiful finds. Thank you for sharing. ❤😊❤
Very cool! Congratulations on your first agate. :)
Mary is the best. That a great spot to find beautiful rocks. Hey Katy, another coral.
Yay! :)
Great little treasure trove of rocks down there to be found 😊
Yep, it's a lot of fun.
Mary’s gravel seems to have a lot of opal present. ❤
The Jasper at 7:27 mark looks like a shrunken brain. LOL.. Never knew they turned to stone when they shrunk.. LOL.. Love the Pet wood, especially the one that was enveloped by Agate like a hot dog in a bun. The River never ceases to Amaze...
Oh, those are some nice looking stones there, Katee and the crowd you have with you as a nice bunch too. Good to see everybody now that the cold weather setting and lotta nice stones to cut open house❤❤❤❤
It was a lot of fun. :)
Uu, that place is really❤. U get some good finds. Mary is the best❤
Thank you!
Awesome hounding and it's nice to have friends that share their areas with other friends..
Your blessed...
Beautiful material....
Thank you, Michael!
Love it when you go to Mary’s! Thanks Mary❤️
Thanks!
Thanks Mary! So many "awesome" rocks. That stromatolite looks to be a stromataporoid, it's my favorite. Good find Jim/Mr. Did! 😊
Very cool - thanks for the ID!
I was reminded of a turtle when you showed the agate at 2:00 min.
Thanks for sharing.
:) Right?
So many beautiful rocks!
SO many!
Thank you Mary!
:)
That Mary is quite the friend. With friends like that, who needs others; right?! And Mr. Did certainly seemed to earn his keep on this hunt?
He really did!
I think your videos are so much fun!! How in the world you can look at those dusty lumps and know one from the other is just genius. Great finds!! Thanks for sharing!😊
Katee that one that you’re looking at the long one with the lump on it if you hold it just right it kind a looks like a duck head and beak crazy imagination but it looks like a duck😂😂😂❤❤❤
Ha, it's just practice. :)
It's crazy, right?
Some big beauties!
Thanks!
Nice coral
Thanks!
Thanks again to Mary for sharing her treasure filled property with you again and for us to see. I think I would go absolutely nuts there if I had an opportunity like that. Someone would have to drag me out of there.
It's really fun to go there.
Very good video.
Thanks!
Agates and jaspers and bears 🐻 opps wood I mean ! 😂
Ha! I think that every time I'm on the river.
Great work guys and good eyes to spot them when they're all covered by grit. Beautiful bubby goodness. What's the GPS coordinates again 😅😂❤ just kidden 🤦 Thanks for sharing the video and hopefully we'll have some more days before 7 months of winter, 🥶 love Montana and WY Will never move😎👍
I'm predicting an open winter this year - well, me and El Nino.
The waterline with the hunk on top....I wonder if Theo could turn that into a snail. It's got a good shape for it :D
That would be cool!
You found the elusive chicken leg agate!! 😂
Isn't it weird?!
@@KatyDidRocks I love it!
2.07 agate looks like a snail 😜
Hopefully in a couple months I am going to go to Montana to find some petrified wood.
Maybe we might come across each other and I could share some stories of mine.
Have been watching more techniques for polishing agates. There is a Whidbey Island Rock and Gem club, guess I better get put there to learn something new!😊
Definitely - keep on doing!
Oh wow! You found some really great ones! And what do you mean the quartz pocket ones aren't good for cutting? Those are the ones that usually have iris potential! And I have to ask, are you going to list any of the stromatolites in your Etsy store? I love them and want to buy one from you! I collect stromatolites and I want one from everywhere. They are so different from all over and that one Jim found was awesome! So I had to ask! I'm never going to be able to get out to the Yellowstone like id hoped because my handicap won't let me walk on uneven surfaces anymore, so I'm stuck buying the rocks that I want these days! But you guys got some beautiful ones! Jim's pet wood pieces were awesome! And that big one with the tree rings was spectacular! That was so nice of her to take you out to her property again! Such amazing stuff! Thanks Kate!❤❤❤
Lisa, that particular quartz pocket was pretty much the whole rock - there was only a thin layer of agate around it. The stromatalites - soooooon. :)
So many Agats. I saw a video here on YT where someone was up at Yellowstone River and picked rocks. They talked about bonderies/borders, that NO ONE can say that they owe the land close to rivers etc, so it is free for all to look for rocks in some distances from the riverbeds?? Do you know anything about that? Nice trip
That was probably me! Yes, it's true that the beaches are public access - if you can get to them! Without a boat, though, the best way is to be invited through private land.
Hello Kathy, Do u have some news from Montana mom ?? 2 months wihout videos ?? Thanks, u always found nice stones !! So lucky
I haven't heard from her lately - but I'll reach out and see how she's doing.
Thanks @@KatyDidRocks
Thank you for sharing. Can you suggest a public place to go on the Yellowstone for some good agates?
Hello! The beaches of the Yellowstone, up to the regular high water mark, are available to the public - it’s just getting there that’s the problem, unless you have a boat! There are many fishing accesses and bridges along the river that provide public access. I’ve actually written a book detailing them - “So Many Beautiful Rocks” on my Etsy store. Good luck!
😊thank you.
How much are they worth they beautiful im neww at this
HI! Value really varies - but they aren't particularly rare, so not big bucks. :)
I think you should carry a screwdriver to help you dig out rocks
I had one that a wonderful viewer made with a cool little knotted guy on the handle. I lost it, and keep forgetting to replace it. But you are right!
Hello! My name is Kattia, I am from Costa Rica and I have been watching your videos. You know I also like to collect rocks. I have a collection of them and I would like you to help me identify them. Most of them I had collected with the idea that they were made of quartz. However, seeing your vines, I think it could have, in addition to quartz, agates and jaspers. Could you help me identify them, I could send you photos to your email, if you agree.
Why do u call them Plume agate, une plume in french is a feather
I think that is why! "Plume" in English is a fluffy feather.
Can Mary be my friend too? :)
LOL, I told her she was going to have LOTS of friends after this!
