    I "Flip" RVs... Travel Trailers etc... for the last 30 years...
    I have found out... I can dye or paint my FABRIC... Curtains etc to match my decor with...
    the WalMart EXTERIOR Acrylic HOUSE Paint... and it does NOT wash out...
    I use a big plastic tube... 80% Water to 20% to the house paint (I mix the paint in the water really well before adding the FABRIC... it come out Beautiful... I let it DRY in the SUN... Rinse it real well outside .. then wash it (without soap) in the washer with lots of fabric softener... It comes out very soft... and it works every time...

      Yes. That is exactly what I would recommend. Oil based sharpie. Make sure to open pen and get ink flowing before they sign it. It takes a few minutes for the pen to get started and I’m sure the actor won’t want to wait around till the ink makes it’s way to the tip.🤙🏼

    What works best for cultured marble? Should I also use (water or oil base) clear coat to seal it?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  2 года назад

      I’ve never tried cultured marble and paint pens but I don’t think acrylic will stand a chance. Oil might work. Try a small sample first. Let the paint dry plenty before testing it’s adhesive quality. I would try oil based clear coat first. Acrylic over oil doesn’t work. Let me know how it goes! Good luck!! 🤙🏼

    Thank you for the video. Starting to make earrings and jewelry out of acrylic, plastics, and wood. Mostly with a laser engraver doing the engraving and cuts. It was recommended to me by Michael's employee to use oil based coloring pen to color a couple things on red acrylic. But was looking for more authoritative guidance as I start down this road. I did use the oil based paint pen and it worked (where I couldn't get the acrylic pen to actually laydown well at all). The one thing I noticed was that the oil based pen coloring seemed to stay wet forever, I am sure I put too much on but do you have a technique trick for drying?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  5 месяцев назад +1

      Oil based is the call for plastics. If you need it to dry quicker use a hair dryer or heat gun. Oil based pens are generally glossy. That’s why it looks wet. Good luck and stay inspired 🤙🏼

      Enamel paint will hold up longer than water based but house paint is water based and hold up great. Higher quality paint will last longer. House paint won’t need any sealer but you can add a clear acrylic sealer on it if you like. I always recommend doing some experimenting first. Every paint seems to react differently with sealer or paint pens.

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  9 месяцев назад +1

      If you want to draw on a mirror but be able to erase I would recommend using an acrylic paint marker. You can erase really easy with a flat razor blade. The paint will come right off. No scratches to the mirror if the blade is sharp, clean and flat against the surface. Oil paint markers will be a lot harder to get off if you can get it all off at all.
      Good luck. Stay inspired 🤙🏼

    Any suggestions on what marker to use if putting it on a Guitar body like if someone were to sign a guitar? A lot of people have been telling me I have to put a clearcoat after the signature even if it’s oil or acrylic marker but I’m afraid it’ll bleed and I heard oil markers like deco color is better because it’ll last longer and it won’t fade. What do you think I should do?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  4 месяца назад

      Oil should stay on the best bit you can clear coat it with an enamel. Nothing will last forever and everything fades eventually so don’t stress too much on that. If you are. Lock the guitar away in the dark and don’t touch it. But that’s no fun. Just enjoy it

    Good question can you use artric paint pens work on skateboard decks vs oil paint pens?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  2 года назад +1

      Acrylic will work on skateboards. The level of quality will be base on how well the acrylic sticks. Is the skateboard sanded? Does it have a varnish over the wood. Does it have a decal? If what your drawing on is oil based then you should use oil based marker. varnish or oil based ink on the design will not allow acrylic to adhere very well. Try out a little on a piece of the board and see if works.

I don't have any tips for blending with them, but I will recommend that you draw a bit in some scratch paper ti get the paint in the tip and get used to them.

    question, im looking into this right now and have some "molotow" brand pens which advertise themselves as "high end acrylic" paint pens, and they seem to be advertised to work on most everything, molotow is a grafitti brand in any case. My white oil based sharpie paint pen doesn't seem to work on paper, it dries in a way that looks more like a whipped stain then an intentional stroke or dot. Am I doing something wrong or do they not work on paper?

    • @WelzieArt
      @WelzieArt  7 месяцев назад +1

      I have a hard time with oil based sharpies on paper. They tend to just pull up the paper into the tip. A glossy paper might work better but again I don’t really do the oil on paper. I don’t think you’re doing something wrong it’s just white paint pen on white paper is a tough mix. Then add the oil based factor and well, problems. Oil works great on many surfaces and last a long time, but they won’t be your best friend with paper products. Keep experimenting, have fun and stay inspired. You’ll find something that works for you.

    • @WelzieArt

      That’s going to be hard for the pen not to transfer to the resin you pour in. You’ll have better luck with an oil based pen for sure. Acrylic won’t want to stick to the mold surface. I would recommend using oil on your mold surface, let completely dry, then apply your mold release being very generous over the pen marked area. I can’t guarantee this will work but it will be less likely to fail than acrylic. Best bet is to figure out how to not to mark up your mold with anything. Good luck. Hello, what would be best for car stitching? I was to dye my white stitching to red. Thanks

      I haven’t tried that but you may wanna use acrylic so if you get any on the seat it will come off easier than an oil based pen. Good luck!

      Have you personally used a brand called overseas paint markers?

    I have a glass surfaced Darth Vader frame that lights up and I plan on getting it autographed, which pen would you recommend?

      Definitely use oil based pen on glass. More permanent than acrylic. Make sure it dries before touching the signature 🤙🏼
