Thanks for posting this, it's great seeing a professional artist using these pens. I recently bought them and was super impressed but most of the art people were making with them weren't the sort of examples I needed to see how far I could push my work and style with them. This is probably really useful to people wanting to buy poscas but not sure how professional they can be.
"but most of the art people were making with them weren't the sort of examples I needed to see how far I could push my work and style with them."
That's a very nice way of putting it LOL I was having the same problem.

Artists like you are amazingly talented people who makes this world so visually pleasing and mentally so uplifting. All this, just from markers...
Your art is incredibly beautiful, I am really into ink and black and white art but I recently started painting this year and now I'm adding a lot more color to my art, I've been wanting these but didn't need them till recently. Thanks for the vid 😁🖤

This is a great video. It's very helpful. Gorgeous art work, too. Wow!
Thanks so much. Exactly the info I was looking for. God bless, and much continued success!
Thank you for sharing. Awesome video. Great information. Love your artwork.
Thank you for the post! I recently bought posca pens and doubted whether it had enough colours, and I also didn’t know that you can blend with them! I found this helpful! Thank you once again!
So glad to see you on RUclips.. Poscas are my absolute favorite art supply! I ordered these about 12+ years ago, thanks to seeing your work in a tattoo or maybe even juxtapoz magazine.. who knows, but it definitely changed everything for me, so thanks.. if you're ever near philly I'd love to collaborate on something. Let me know, and thank you sir. I appreciate all the unintended tips and pointers over the years..
Excellent! Just bought some metallic for a project but think I’m going to build a range. Great video.
I’ve just order my posca pens, can’t wait to start creating. Thanks
I love this thanks to you I just bough a pack of these pens, I love how the last type of pen is like a paint brush that you can just carry in your pocket
Awesome video I been a tattoo artist for over 15 years and after seeing this video I think I’m picking up a new hobby !
I've been airbrushing skateboards for a little while and have just recently started to use paint pens for lines. After watching this video, and checking out Drew's page, I'm definitely going to look into switching over to using mainly paint pens.
I have never used Posca pens. Thanks for all the info you give here. Has been a game changer in me going to purchase some and try them out.
Your art is amazing! Thank you for this quick to the point explanation of exactly what these pens can do. Lots of detail in just a few minutes that’s the kind of explanation I understand and get the most out of. Hang loose🤙🏄♀️🏄♂️
Love to see the awesome work you can create with Posca!
Old video but very helpful for me. I’m an artist and have not tried these before but I just got myself some. ♥️
Just bought some postcards pens and my paintings will never be the same. Thanks for the great video. 👏👍👍
This is an awesome video! I’m
Sold on this! I know now that Posca pens are going to be what I need. I’m not that great with paintbrushes, but white board markers and sharpies and markers in general are my best way to draw! You have amazing art and are very cool and personable. God bless you and your business brother. Thank you for this video!
Uau! Quantas canetas Posca! Você tem muito talento! Parabéns!

What do you use to protect the art work? Automotive clear coat? Thx great job!

Your art is so COOL!!!!
Great work man!!! All the best to you, what varnish do you use to fix it?
So beautiful
I kinda wanna get these, the art that people make with them is insanely beautiful
I loved it I wish I can get soon
It is amazing pens
For staring a pen you can shake, press then take the tip out and switch it around then put it back in
Hi Drew thanks for the tutorial. I've been using Posca paint pens for awhile and totally love using them. Im trying to find out if they have a copper metallic one, I've used the silver and gold and have seen the bronze but no copper? Cheers Kaz from Oz 😁
These look awesome! I wonder how they perform and blend for black & gray work.
I saw these recently at hyatts and cheaper at hobby lobby. I’ve never heard of the brand before but watching your review I definitely want them and they look like exactly what I’m looking for in terms of blending for sure.
I ended up buying a set of Montana (not cheap) acrylic markers and now I’m wondering if I should’ve went for Posca.
I’ll see if I can find a bargain on these.
I love Posca Pens
i realy whant posca pens lots
What do you use to varnish your paintings on canvas with?
I do resin
I find it also make the colors pop out
@@littledemon2694 how do you apply it?
Yes how do you apply? Brush? Don't think you can really spray it
@@geophphd5594 you can get a certain brand where it is in a spray bottle
so beutiful
Thank
I'm gonna try and build my own board and while I get the general idea of the build after glassing can I paint with these pens then Hot coat over the paint ?
I’m trying to open my posco pens to refill. Any tips? Don’t want to keep adding to our tiny landfill here on the island🙈 thanks Mick
Besides being extremely expensive and super hard to find a set they are dope af to use
What do think of people saying to add a bit of water to reactivate one’s almost empty or refilling with high flow acrylic ?
i thinkt hat would work. i would add flow aid though, not water. you will find water actually changes the colour slightly. flow aid has no colour change effect on acrylics.
all those poscA pens !!
If I'm customizing shoes do I put anything on the shoes first before using the pens
Just got mine, they are great for what I do
How do you clearcoat it so it’ll stick on the surfboard after so when your surfing the board post paint it won’t chip off??
Drew, On a skateboard i used krylon satin as under and on top coat with posca then after the fiish top coat my art has hairline cracks all through it like the posca paint spliting in a shatter effect.. could you let me know what i did wrong?
Wonderful drawings 😀 You didn’t mention anything about lightfast. Are they light fast? I wouldn’t want to sell my work if it faded on someone’s wall.
They certainly changed my bank account balance but yeah no regrets they are amazing. Quality is top notch and the colours always pop. I'm planning to get a cheap guitar to mod and then colour with poscas.
Im having a helmet painted and need to know if a 2k sprey will work i dont want it to melt the art work.
Great art. I'm getting into custom shoes... I'm unsure of shading... I would love some pointers, short info or very detailed. Whatever is able to be given
Poscas are PERFECT for hooking up kicks. Just be sure to de-glaze them first. Either with 'angelus' brand de-glaze or plain old acetone. Not sure how into the process you are already, but thats something I didn't learn right away, and wish I did.. good luck
@@billbecker1076 greatly appreciated. That was actually a concern of mine.
@@billbecker1076 How familiar are you, if at all, with matte finish? I keep getting patches and or blemishes in my work after i apply it and dry them. Any ideas on what the cause is?
You may be putting it on to thin.. are you using an airbrush? That's the best way to apply it.. createx airbrush colors makes a great matte top coat. Sorry, I didn't see your question until now
Please can you tell me which posca color is the most opaque? Or what colors are strong enough to layer a bright red acrylic paint? i got this 2 meter painting and it need a ton of line works, i mean its “wiremesh” paintings, i cant just re do the line 3 times bcs im tight on schedule (unless i have sacrifice 2 days of sleep)
Quick question, would these hold up in an outdoor setting?
what size do you think its the best for paper? i use the 5m now
Can I use automotive clear coat over the paintings
Im getting this the 19th of febuary
Can I use theses on metal tanks
Damn, I'm kinda wishing now that I had bought these Poscas instead of the cheap knockoff alcohol markers I got. I might get a small set of these just to test them out.
how good are these Pens long term? they get used on surf boards which spend a lot of time in salt water or soaking up hot sun.
I can't imagine the colour will stay bright without any sort of treatment.
We’re do you get this pins at
What do you use over your art to give it that shine?
An acrylic varnish, more than likely. I use a varnish when finishing my acrylic paintings on stretched canvas.
Where did you get the markers
What is the best medium to use the pens?
Can you resin over these pens without smearing? I also preresined some rocks to smooth surface. Will pens smear when applying second coat of resin after painting?
🤩🤩🤩🤩😍😍😍
If it washes off easily then why do you paint it on surf boards and go in the water
i want to collect all colors but its so expensive 😅
You can ask for your parents/friends to buy it for you in a special event (Christmas,B-day...etc...)
i mean its a art supply my parents bought it for me so i can have an art hobby
How much tho
@@zoeywithoutay1183 bruh gimme some bro
@@Usernoobmaster i got mine for ₽4955 (Im from Philippines) so for US dollars basically 200 dollars 🥲
How do u bled?
Where do you get the,
Hey do you think they work on boxing gloves
Your art is Amazing my man. Would love a board with some art on it.
Can you message me?
i still cant find a gret surface to use them on.
Hi there. Is there a varnish or seal u would recommend ? I’ve used the posca pens on a leather bag and tried to varnish it w leather varnish. I usually use this varnish when using leather acrylic paints but unlike the paints the posca pens colour starts to run once I apply the varnish. Please help
I use angelous and it seems to work best with posca pens.
Angelus*
Can you varnish or lacquer over them without bleed/smear?
Yes, you can. I use spray varnish :)
Poscas are incredibly durable, and very tolerant of being coated with a few different things.. montana brand varnish is phenomenal
Whoa whoa whoa! How many Posca pens do you have!?
I find that posca pens are so hard to use because they often bleed out on me and ruin my art work. I am mainly a sketch artist which means I have a very light hand for sketching extra lines that later on in the drawings that I do will end up being erased. I've just always had trouble with poscas because they bleed out and run out of ink/paint really quickly and I know for a fact its not because I'm pressing to hard down on the surface that I am colouring. Do you have any tips or other videos you have made or seen you can direct me to. I kinda just stumbled upon this video. I also do other crafts like sculpting with clay and I would love to use posca pens for these projects but in the right way but I'm scared because of my bleeding posca pen problem.
Edit
My concerns exactly. Having paint run out over your work would give me the grips. Also would like to know once opened and used how long before paint dries up? Also would like to know how colour fast these paints are.
❤❤❤❤❤❤ top 🤯👽☠️
Directed by posca.
POSCAA THE BEEST
LOOL
Does posca have marker
I want to like these pens so badly. But i havent been able to use them effectively since I bought them. They take forever to dry and I dont have the attention span to wait that long. They also tear any paper I use no matter if its Bristol or moleskin.
The whole time i was just asking “how he do dat” cus i got my poscas and im so bad at using them lol
Are these 1$? I keep hearing it is and 100$ for all of the colors..?
Don't the tips get smudgy while blending?
They’re designed to smug other colors. You can clean the tip and keep going
Where did you order the pens from?
You can order them off of amazon
Amazon is one place to get them!
Is it safe to put clear coating afterwards?
kak made yes it is I do it all the time
And then comes the moment you realize the pink, red, orange and browns ect, are not lightfast.. So people end up with dull surfboards if exposed to UV light.. Some colors are not archival inks!
you should only go over one wet spot one time. then you let it dry and go over it again
it would be helpful if you had captions.
