Man, I really want one of these now. I've seen comments from other people that basically said the sequencer was difficult to use but this tutorial put that to rest.
Such a great tutorial! Just picked up my Mother and these are so fantastic for helping me familiarize myself with the little ins and outs of this great little powerhouse ☺️☺️☺️
Excellent informative video. I could never work out the difference between Keyboard and Step mode. The Step thing seemed the same as KB but now I see it. You play a pattern and can press buttons to mute certain notes and also change their pitch , gate length etc etc. I have just today had the manual printed out and I am giving myself a solid week with just the Moog Mother 32 sequencer alone so as to crack it. Thank you.
Guess you figured it out already, but you can select steps and change pitch, gatelength etc in both modes. In stepmode you can as you say turn on and off each step, and you can also move the sequence back and forth with the arrow keys.
+Bill Vincent It plays really well with other cv synths and has a very good sound. I bought my two tier rack after hearing a few videos here, well worth having. First time I felt really excited since the arp2600. Funny, I don't really like the last several years worth of Moog very much. This module just gets me where it counts!
Very nice video, I just got one of these and cant wait to mess with it, question, when you go into step edit mode, can you change the octave per note/step? or is there a way to tell it to play the sequence in a range of multiple octaves and not just the one?
Hi! Great Video! One question: I put the Mother 32 in Step Sequencer Mode. From there, i can't send Midi Notes from my Midi master keyboard anymore ... What can I do to exit the step sequencer mode and to come back in Keyboard/Midi mode? Thanks in advance!!!
I´m not shure, I dont own the Mother32, but it has no USB Port, like the Minitaur (which I have, where its possible to save sound-presets with dedicated Minitaur Software), so it is like you said. There is also no Software to find at moogs site, but a Blank Patch Sheet in pdf for download (www.moogmusic.com/sites/default/files/Mother_32_Patch_Sheet.pdf)
Does this let you create a background patch, then create another patch, then overlay and playback both tracks. These single track sequencers are too limiting with their 1 track playback capability. There may be endless possibilities but for a single track only. How about multi-tracks?
If you haven’t already gathered from the comments, you have a gift for this. It’s rare on you tube

love the video, manual wasn't getting it for me! thanks!

This tutorial is GREAT! With the manual, I plod. With this, I shall fly through the sequencing.
Crisp, concise, and super informative. Really nice job on this one.
Explained in such a simple way. Superb. Many thanks for sharing your knowledge!

I love this guy's voice. So nice.
Great tutorial clear and thorough! Definitely picking one of these up!
Once I had two units, I wanted 3. Ok, ok, I wanted like 6 just to explore but i will multitrack instead! Greta video.
GREAT tutorial, thank you. That accent feature is lovely.
This is how video tutorials should be! 👍🏽
Terrific tutorial man, thanks a lot
Excellent Tutorial 👌
Nice concise review, thank you!
Excellent overview, Tanseer
thanks for explaining the ratched mode!

This is a truly excellent tutorial!
Is it possible to edit the pattern in a “live rec” style (like with volcas) while the sequencer is playing?
God this is so much better than software!
Great video, is there any way to SAVE the sequence so you can pick it up again after a power cycle?
Great tutorial - thanks!
Really helpful tutorial my friend.
wow! GREAT tutorial!
Amazing.
Question here, can you link up the patterns so you have a 32 times 8 pattern?
excellent demo
When you adjust the tempo on the Mother 32, will it adjust the tempo of the other midi / cv gear as well? If it's the master?
great demo, cheers!
Nice tutorial, thanks !
Can anyone suggest if I should buy Korg MS20 mini along with SQ1 sequencer OR Moog Mother 32?Which one is more versatile?
I have both and I have not idea how to clock or sequnce them together.
Great tutorial. Thanks.
Very helpful. Thanks a lot
whats the best practice for clearing your paterns?
This is clear thank you guy :)!
Thank you for that tutorial!!!
You turn the thing off and the sequence is gone!? havent heard of how to save the sequence. :(
How do you do longer sequences? I've been trying to figure this out all day!!
Thank you. What a great help.
thanks a lot, great tutorial :) cheers !
Then again, if you hold shift and create accents and ratchetings, is like what KORG calls motion sequencing, no? yes?
Nice tutorial!
thanks for the video....bilkol awesomeness
I've got a question, I know how to sequence and save my patterns in the bank. However, I'm having a hard time bringing the sequences back up
really helpful! thanks for!
good tutorial! is it possible to save a sequence?
+kritzelbrabp he says: yes! you can save 8x8 sequences
Key Elektro
Thanks! But it's probably not possible to save sounds, right?

Okidoki, thanks a lot!!
How do I synchronize with ableton live? Illuminame, I already read the manual :/
Do some stuff on the volcas :-)
im not getting sound, but when I hook up the sub 37 it works.. this no sound...
can you save patches?
Nice demo tnx

That means no full parameter locking. Also the single VCO seems pretty limited shape-wise. Rules this one out for me.
Decent tutorial though.
Ouch
Thank you!
Very nice
No slide?
You can use the glide knob for slide-like effects, haven't tried it step by step as in this vid though
yeah we get it move knobs push buttons that's what it is made for.
