Mother-32 was the instrument that truly brought me into synthesis after 20+ years as a pianist and guitarist. I get happy just LOOKING at it blinking away. Truly one of my favorite musical instruments of all time. The sequencer is where the true power lies. No ordinary synthesizer - neither modular nor keyboard-controlled at heart. It's a strange, beautiful hybrid that's at it's best when you treat it as a self-contained instrument. Or, do whatever the hell you want with it - because with the Mother-32 you don't have to listen to how anyone else does it.
excellent way to learn.. step by step.. perfect.. will look forward to learning from this guy.. better to be able to see in real time..as reading the instructions can be a little distant.. fantastic.. keep up the good work..Im relying on you to learn this great instrument..!!! thanks.
This was a very helpful video.. I'm thinking about buying the Mother-32 but slightly daunted by the sheer depth of technical knowledge required. It would great to have more tutorials like this.
It really isn't that overwhelming once you get your hands on it and start reading! Great user manual. I highly recommend picking up an alternate faceplate though.. they make some that separate it into 4 sections and really highlight the ins/outs. Much more simple 👌
Would love a video on patch creation in the Sub 37- specifically how to make patches that allow Osc 2’s knob to be used to control the level of Sub 1 (like in the preset “just add kick drum”. Awesome video series!!!!!
hello, I just got my Mother 32 yesterday and very glad about it. I have a question is how to have the mother32 midi-clocked from Arturia beatstep pro which is connected to my DAW(ableton) thanks in advance
i wonder how to use my mother-32 just as a synthesizer by plug in a drumbox-machine to the midi-in. just the start and stop play command is given to the mother-32. is there a way to deliver notes over midi-in while play start was triggered? kind of bypass the mother-32 sequencer and use the external source..
Hi, is there a way to copy let's say step 1 to 8 and paste them directly on steps 9 to 16 ? Should be very useful to make only few changes. Didn't find that on the manual. thanks
I just got my mother-32 and haven’t started playing with the sequencer yet. Since when I delete a pattern from the sequencer it is lost forever (and since there is no MIDI out to save it in our DAWs), what do you suggest we do to remember the patterns we create?
Is it possible to change the octave in keyboard mode when recording? using a left right triangles in keyboard mode during recording mode does not change octaves.
I am a novice when it comes to sequencers, so forgive me if this question seems trite. After you record a melody, why is the tempo so much faster when you play it back? Can you control the playback tempo with one of the pots? Thanks.
You can set the playback tempo with the Tempo knob or by sending CV to the Tempo input jack found in the patchbay. This allows you to experiment with different tempos for your sequences regardless of the tempo in which you entered the notes. Not a trite question at all ;)
Is it possible to pair two Moog Mother 32s and use them as a monosynth? Both playing the same exact notes but playing through one keyboard on one fo the 32s? Anybody know? If so, how?
Hi, I'd love to know whether it'd be possible to set the start of the sequence from a different step. I know the new firmware allow for different directions of the sequence, but it'd be amazing if I could set the seq in a way to customize the first and the last step. (eg. start at 3 and finish at 11)
Awesome. How about some vids explaining the VCA, VCF, and Noise and how they can be used. Also using LIN FM is another place I personally could use some more explanation. Thanks!!
I'm so glad to see moog still making videos on the mother 32. It's been one of the best investments I've made since making music.

Well done! This format is very useful and presented in just the right size chunks of info. Looking forward to many more.
Thank you for posting this. The manual is laborious; this is instant.
great video - clear and precise and well presented. thanks

this was the toughest sequencer to learn thanks for the tut
Thanks for sharing. Awesome video

Great suggestion--We will be releasing a video covering quick assigns in the Subsequent 37 shortly. Stay tuned!
Sorry i should have specified further i'm talking about the Sub 37 Tribute Edition. Thanks for the reply! Love Moog!!!!
If I was still making videos, I would have done a tutorial series with my Mother 32. I think these videos will go over very well with Moog owners.
Thank you!
my mother is coming Friday ill be all over your videos

I've tried controlling M32 with Ableton through MIDI. I wouldn't mind seeing some advanced features on that.
it was helpul
Could you also explain the clock function with/without MIDI clock.. Thanx

ox creative imagery I'm having the same dilemma. Have you figured it out yet?
How about recreating any of the patches from the product launch: solar rise!!!
Cool idea Adrian! We'd need to go back through the footage to rebuild the patch--it could take some time, but we'll see what we can do : )

Yes patch kb out from moog A into 1v/oct of moog B and gate out from moog A into gate in moog B

This is already possible in Step mode. the SET END button will set the last step, and SHIFT+SET END sets the first step.
@@MoogSynthesizers Top! How did I miss that? Thanks !!
big fan. any chance we can get more videos on patch creation using multiple mothers? thanks so much!
Stay tuned Mark--We've got multi Mother-32 videos on the way!

Omg. First 2 seconds, and the official Moog demo-desk looks like mine. Paperbacks and (ha ha) Analog magazines...
What’s the general mood now at Moog?
How do I delete just one page? For some reason mine added 2 extra pages of "Rests" ??
Ahhh, nevermind - I went to the last note I wanted in the sequence, held "Shift+Set End"
once you turn off the mother 32 the sequences seem not to be memorized?
More shift keys with buried stuff. Lots and lots of buried stuff. 😏🎶✌🏻👽Christo
One guy dislike it. i bet he didn’t tried the m-32 yet 😂
Who in the *fuck* disliked this video? Was this too simple and informative for you or can you not afford the 32 yet?
