    this video and ones like it literally changed the course of my life
    hard to express how grateful I am. Back again to review :)

    Very well explained. Great fluency and all terms are always on point, dispite the complexity of a sequencer, which is mostly utlilized by pressing various keys at the same time resulting in different outcome, depending on the mode you're currently in. After owning the M32 for two days, i have spent around 4-5 hours fiddling with it and it's currently hard to believe that i will ever get used to it. Especially when i imagine being away from the machine for a couple of days from now and then. Thanks for this great walkthrough !

    another little item worthy of note,.,,during playback in either mode.... if you are repeating a step by pressing hold...the reset key still works while you are still pressing hold. i find this useful during jamming to jump back to the first step smoothly after doing note repeats. or for turning the begining of your sequence into an 'intro' that builds in length, etc. beautiful vid thanks. i think the included moog manual is brilliant, but your tutorial is very succinct and perfect for more visual tactile learning types. it also reinforced what i learned from the moog manual and made me confident i hadn't missed anything. thanks much! cheers

    Thank you for a very well explained video.
    I must be a bit dumb as I don't find it so easy ti master.
    It must be a nightmare to sequence anything in two octaves?
    It must be hard to decide where to put the rests.
    If I was writing down the notes I could see in front of me where they are but with this sequencer there are no clues.
    Perhaps I am thinking too deep.
    Talking about deep...my Lord you have a deep voice!

    Thanks for this. I have my neice’s Mother32 and user manual at home, & told her I’d get it back to its original working state, but it’s been impossible to figure out what settings have been tweaked. Lights seem to be different colors & do totally different things than the manual says, & there seems to be no factory reset on it. Kraft music... you guys are just down the road from me. I wonder if i could buy a 1/2 hour of your tech’s knowledgable time to get this back to normal.

    I'm starting to think my SHIFT key is glitchy. I've been over these instructions a bunch of times exactly as instructed...It's as if the SHIFT key doesn't "pickup" the key press every time. At that I point I could be doing anything. It would explain why I can't seem to get these instructions to work.

    • @robinweber9640

      just a guess but send pitch out the oscillator and gate to the envelope controlling the amp, right?

  • @sibsbubbles
    @sibsbubbles 7 лет назад

    one question: can you edit a single step's note whilst the sequencer is running (aka on the fly) like you can with the ratcheting, glide, accent, etc?

    • @moreteamrshifter

  • @EverettDudgeon138

    Can you switch between patterns on the fly without having to hold down a button?

    • @josiethompson2420
      @josiethompson2420 7 лет назад

      apparently you can through midi. you can download the manual and it talks about it from page 48, but I have no idea how it works."MIDI program changes 1 to 64 select the current sequencer pattern location" I have no idea what a program change is.

    Nice rig. I'm thinking Mother 32 + an empty Moog Eurorack case like this for some other bits. Not sure what to put in. These modules look like they go well. I like the look of the Mutable Instruments modules. Also the Make Noise stuff. So much choice. Where do you start?@! ........ With a Mother 32 of course ;)

    • @josiethompson2420
      @josiethompson2420 7 лет назад +1

      I haven't gotten any modules yet because i don't have the funds, but the maths seems essential, as well as VCAs! intellijel uVCA seems pretty cool, as you can mix between linear and exponential. honestly I would get vca before anything else. the mother-32 technically has one but it's limited, but there are so many patches i've explored that would benefit from a dedicated vca or two!

    Hey what if I want to use 6 steps per 8 steps for the entire 32 steps? When i try to do this, it defaults every page to 8 steps!

    • @hakonsoreide
      @hakonsoreide 8 лет назад +1

      So, what you are saying is you want a total 24 steps? Then you use three pages instead of four.

      Yah, Victor is right. These kind of tools require what I call "deep flow" - getting into the box thoroughly, with curiosity and patience, experimenting, looking up and not realize how much time has passed. No offense to anyone, but note this does not necessarily square with "instant gratification" society. Don't get me wrong, I love getting a new toy (VA synth for example), starting it up, and jamming straight away with some cool presets/preprogrammed sounds. This noodle box is not that. The patterns on this when it arrives are notably a single note (ie. "blank").

    • @MrFlatlandcycle
      @MrFlatlandcycle 7 лет назад +3

      Not to discount that "Deep Flow" is extremely painful;)
      Helpful: pages 32-37 of the manual for SEQUENCER PANEL FUNCTION QUICK REFERENCE
      Breakout a notebook. Print a few pages of the manual and make scratch notes in the margins. Hit pause, play and rewind a bunch of times. Make sure you bookmark the tutorials that work for you. This one starts at #t=2m54s for me.
      ruclips.net/video/rXXTmly20cQ/видео.html#t=2m54s
      My biggest hurdle is what Moog thinks a procedure should be called isn't what I would call it, so that my find-in-document searches don't turn up results. For instance, INITIALIZE CURRENT PATTERN doesn't turn up in results when you search for "clear reset current pattern." The manual is in need of a glossary or index that can deal with synonyms. Also, (SHIFT)+RESET+PATTERN != (SHIFT)+PATTERN+RESET; it's problematic when the answer should take seconds not hours.
      At least when you punch in page 32 it goes to page 32, that's pet peeve of poorly paginated Acrobat documents. Hum, interesting that page 32 is the real meat and potatoes...

In this video Will uses Ableton as a MIDI master for the Mother-32 sequencer, and he also records multiple tracks of audio into Ableton. Check this out: ruclips.net/video/zRD7KkNna_g/видео.htmlm13s
