This Camaro should handle great and that updated subframe is something I wanted to do on mine, but just couldn't swing. Rest Mods can be murder on the budget.

excellent video and very good parts used... I learn some stuff here! The wheels though, in my opinion, this Camaro needed something more retro looking!
Never apply silicon or silicon/gasket before installing the crown and pinion gear set. You may disturb or smudge the silicon, necessitating touching up or redoing your work. Work systematically, in other words in an orderly manor.Great video, and keep up the good work.
Add frame connectors, toss the crap in the tube and get a Lube locker gasket. Why not clean the inner floor up before bolting those brackets in? Clean, prine and paint it first.
Yeah, I was scratching my head on that one. That's how they took it out. I guess they were still waiting on the engine and wanted to get to work while waiting.
When you're doing a project this extensive, you really should weld those supports in rather than just bolting them. Save that for the car that's already done and just adding them after.
Every time I watch TV hotrod shows they build $140,000 cars in an industrial building, with a lift. IDEA: rent a 2 car garage and lay on the floor like the rest of us and show how it's done at home, on a tight budget.
Wow they're that much uh? I was thinking probably a couple grand when they showed and explained it. Man was I off. Yeah, I'd be rolling stock too then haha.
@@Warrior_Resisting_Colonialism there are quite a few things one can do to the stock subframe to make it work really well, like the ride tech tru turn or rack and pinion, upgraded steering boxes, tubular control arms (tho they weigh more) and you can always put a bigger sway bar
The one thing about shows like this that I hate is they show all these neat parts and what they can do for your project car but never list the parts and the MSRP cost.
THE front subframe delivered to my doorstep was $6,000. The brake setup is close to $2,000. The wheels and tires are $4,000. That's all my car has in common with this car. I have the LS 6.2 t56 in mine that I built myself. I haven't set down and added it up but it's around 20K.
Google it. Everyone has a different budget in mind, these builds provide examples of things that are available and what's involved. Everyone may not have the funds to use these exact parts, but could use some ingenuity and creativeness to accomplish something similar without all the fancy, expensive bolt ons. This shouldn't be looked at as some sort of recipe to build a car piece by piece, IMO. It should be seen as an example of things that are available if you have the money, but also showing you areas that you can modernize as your budget allows to bring an older car to more modern standards. I hope that makes sense, not always the best at putting my thoughts into words.
