Amy Goodman fairly deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. She has devoted her life to the broadcasting of the truth to the people of the world which is no small task. Her obvious love and deep care for those who have been silenced and lack a voice is profound and cuts to the core of every world religion and philosophy worth it’s salt. 💗 🦋
I've only just discovered her and Democracy Now! this last year. It's become an important part of my self-education about what the heck is really going on. Love Amy Goodman, appreciate her commitment so much. And this is the first time I've seen HER interviewed.
I'm so use to hearing Amy Goodman interview other people every weekday that it's actually really refreshing to her her just open up and let her opinions loose when someone else is interviewing her. Thank you for this, Julian!
Cause this is trash.. not thought provoking in anyway.. just the basic rhetoric we all see on twitter everyday but we get to see Julian Casablancas listening to it
I tune into Democracy Now every morning with my coffee to get the news. I was a KPFK reporter so I've known about Amy for years...I even got a tour of the studio in 2019 when I went to visit NYC. I"m in LA. Thank you Amy and Julian for bringing this extremely important dialogue about the power and potential of media and Amy you are a star! Keep on shining!
I think part of it is she reports on war AND peace. The world is harsh and bleak in these modern times, but when we read and consume as many good, positive, progressive and resistant stories as we do war-focused, negative and hurtful, we see there is soooo much resistance in the world, despite the situation. I would imagine that continues to bring her hope. It continues to bring me hope, despite being so pained by the negative news I consume. Balance
Thank you, Julian for delivering Amy to us; almost everything I've learned on myriad levels over the years has been due to Amy & Juan telling me 'like it is'. I agree with you, 'Amy is an American 'National Treasure!'

True that @Cristina Albuja. Sad to see how this margaret figure responded...seemed to have missed the point. Julian Casablancas might know more than some of these large media anchors, or certain issues. Fact that he's interviewing Amy Goodman vs Anderson Cooper shows that. We ALL have knowledge to share, including artists, musicians, farmers, garbage collectors, etc. Independent media from those on the frontlines, that was kinda the whole point of what she was saying, loool. Great point tho Cristina.

It’s so awesome to hear Amy Goodman in her own words, speaking for herself. She’s a legend, and luckily her message in this video transcends these burnout questions and random format. WTF was that?
Love seeing artists get involved to use their platform to try to make the world a better place, Julian helped turn me on to Chris Hedges and Howard Zinn (who have changed my life). It’s even more badass when they’re really unique and talented musicians who have changed me life in a more romantic way (thinking of you Jack White), helps give me hope seeing I’m not alone in worrying about this type of shit (ya know like environmental collapse, massive social unrest, historic levels of inequality, mass incarceration, endless wars, and corporate grip on the methods of power and action to confront any of these issues).

Yes I watched his face and he really focused and his questions were very pointed and brought out the best in Amy
Except for the few phone-tapping moments haha. But maybe he was just sifting through notes and questions.
I respect Amy Goodman so much for her truth-telling and her courageous stand against injustice.
